    Hope you enjoy the video.
    Man, I really have to get video quality sorted out on this channel. It's seriously hurting my eyes.
    One subscriber said my videos make his eyes bleed.
    That's how bad they are.

      FYI Flicker of the cam is based on format you are recorded in. PAL vs NTSC.

    • @propercushty
      @propercushty  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@pulDag Yeah I think PAL operates at 50hz and NTSC operates at 60hz. My LED lights in the house are all 50hz so there is a mismatch there.
      However, this was recorded on a smartphone and I can't find a way to change the setting from NTSC to PAL.

    • @pulDag
      @pulDag 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@propercushty Man I am afraid those options are not available for setup on the smartphones. Default framerates are 30/60.. Maybe If you are lucky and smartphone can detect it and solved it by itself, but otherwise you are screwed. GL

    • @propercushty
      @propercushty  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@pulDag yeah it's so annoying. Some smartphones allow you to take more control over the framerates and shutter speeds which can solve the issue.
      For example, I have a Sony Xperia 1ii -- in the cinema camera app I have full control over all of these settings and I never get flicker etc. But the only problem is it is fixed to 21:9 aspect ratio!
      The standard camera app just sucks so hard man - no control whatsoever :(
      Just trying to find a good workaround!
      Let me know if you have any suggestions pal!

    Thank you for your amazing videos! Maybe you are the only guy in youtube that makes so nice comparisons.I was able to get a taste of the difference between the two as far as that cinematic feel and the rumble that xtz produces.Very difficult to get this feeling from a sealed sub.If the xtz offers the tightness and accuracy that sealed subs offer in music section, it's the all around subwoofer that we all are searching for in the market. The only disadvantage of the xtz is the second hand value if you want to sell it. (SVS has the brand name).

    • @propercushty
      @propercushty  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes Nikos that's exactly right. The second-hand value of the XTZ is probably going to be trash. However, I feel it is that perfect all-round subwoofer for most people who want something good for both music and movies (at the price point of course).
      However, you can feel good in some ways because if that were sold by a bigger speaker company it would probably cost £1,000-1500.
      So it really depends - what kind of guy are you? Are you the type of person who buys, gets bored after a few months, sells it and buys a different component?
      Or are you the type of person who buys something and keeps it for as long as possible?
      If you are the second type of person then the XTZ is perfect.
      If you are the first type of person.... well, I wish you good luck in your future life 😐

    • @Nickceid
      @Nickceid 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@propercushty I am the first type of person, but if a product somehow blows me away I don't sell it. If it is just ok, I will sell it and search for something better after that, because I will always be skeptical and I wiil wonder, what if I had bought something more expensive. BUT if I always have I smile in my face when I use it and it satisfies me in every aspect I don't think that.

    In that last bit, the SVS plays the same notes, it's all there. But XTZ hits it with a lot more authority. It's like giving a Bass Boost via EQ to my headphones

    Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the SVS SB-3000 for music. It's the sub I use in my $20k USD 2.1 system in my home office. Obviously, I have very high opinions of the SB-3000. I have the sub paired with Harbeth P3-ESR XD mains. I use a Chord Hugo M Scaler and Chord Hugo TT 2 DAC. Yes, I like that "British sound" !

      @charley I was thinking about getting two SB-3000 subs for my dedicated Home Theater. Room is 25’X13’….base is very important as well as nice sound clarity.
      Would you recommended the SB-3000 (or two) for a home theater?!

    • @CharleyClose
      @CharleyClose 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@tonyg03 I have my SB-3000 in my home office (12 x 15). It's perfect for the room, and paired with my Harbeth P3ESR-XD's, sounds amazing! Funny you mention your home theater plan...that's EXACTLY what I'm planning to do with my home theater. It's a larger room (about 30 x 25). I going with (2) SB-3000's for my theater. Considered going with PB-3000's, but I really love the tightness and musical accuracy of the sealed enclosure. My first upgrade to my home theater will be the new Yamaha Advantage A8A (as soon as I can find one. Then (4) of the SVS Prime Elevations for the Dolby Atmos overheads, then (2) of the SB-3000's to replace my 20 year old Atlantic Technology 15" sub, and finally, the L-R-C and rear channel speakers. Probably going with SVS Prime Pennacles for L/R, and Prime Center. May go with Ultras, but not sure yet. I have Ultra Bookshelves and Prime Bookshelves I'm not using, that will probably complete the rear speakers in my Atmos setup. Dang this "hobby" is expensive!

    hi great video I would have liked to know your setting of your xtz to have the best subwoofer I have one mine has set on ref volume at 9 o'clock right port butchers if we stand in front of the box in any case it is a watch this xtz my room is 50m and 20m of listening area and as an onkyo rz 900 amplifier thank you to you

    • @propercushty
      @propercushty  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      when i first got the xtz i tried the multiple port options - i eventually settled with the setting you see.
      the gain is about 9 or 10 oclock - but i was running both of these subs calibrated via inbuilt dsp anyway. It wasn't a raw comparison so room modes were accounted for etc
      Your room is 50m x 20m? So you live in a football stadium then?

    Looks obvious that the XTZ Subwoofer would be a lot better, by the size of it.
    Arendal make good ported Subwoofers too.
    What model number are your Teufel speakers?

    • @Zoranurai13
      @Zoranurai13 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’m using the original arendal 1723 sub 1.5 ported version. I can confirm it’s fucking amazing

    • @propercushty
      @propercushty  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well size doesn't always matter (not what she said hehe).
      For example the PC-2000 Pro I tested was huge but I wouldn't buy that for my room - I'd buy the SB-2000 Pro instead as I felt it served up better quality and had a more punchy sound.
      Arendal do make good subs yes...I might have one coming on the way for review :)
      I have the Teufel System 6 LCR speakers. I also have the dipole speakers from the same range.
      They mostly do a fantastic job with movies - I've never heard midrange dispersion done quite like this in a commercial speaker. You can literally sit anywhere in the room and sound is crystal clear.
      However, I wouldn't recommend the Teufel subs from that system as they weren't nearly as special as the other components
