    The part that was giving me the hardest time was taking off the plastic light cover. There's a screw in there. Super helpful Mike!

    Mike, thanks for helping me with this!
    It was an insult that GE wanted to send a technician this time. I paid for the LED to be installed last time. It took the guy 30 seconds and he was sheepish when I questioned why he had to come out.
    I miss the days when I could just screw in a light bulb!

    Thanks for posting this. Like some of the other comments here, I was disappointed to see that my freezer LED wasn't working after just a couple of years in use. I didn't want to call a service tech in just to fix the light. I did a quick internet search and stumbled upon your video and now my freezer is fixed!

    Mike, the refrigerator in the video looks just like mine. Light went out. I bought a generic light board and it worked for a few minutes then stopped.
    My model is Gse25gshkcss. Funny thing is I’m getting 31.9 volts at the plug. My multimeter was set right as I measured a 9v battery first and got 9v, then I checked the plug and got 31.9 volts.

    • @mikesdoityourself
      @mikesdoityourself  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It could be too high of voltage going to your LED board, which could be from bad wiring or a bad circuit board. This would cause your LED board to fail prematurely. It could also be a bad batch of LED boards from a certain manufacturer. Good luck with your project!- Mike

    Ok, taking the bulb out and replacing it seems easy. My problem is, the cover on ours is different. It's flat. And no obvious screws our tabs to pop it off. It's the adora dae25jghecww model.

    • @cherylbixby2198
      @cherylbixby2198 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@mikesdoityourself thanks Mike. I figured it out. So you have to slide a screw driver under the edge and carefully pull it up a bit. Then use another screw driver to pop loose the tab. Do this 4 times. Then lean it out so the bottom tabs pop out. Why they couldn't just use a screw like normal people. Sigh. I left it all open and ordered the part.
      I think adora is the version ge makes for home Depot exclusively

    • @mikesdoityourself
      @mikesdoityourself  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Normal voltage at the fridge/freezer LED strip would be 5 to 12 volts DC. You may have an issue with your PCB (printed circuit board). You could have a failed resistor on your PCB that leads to your LED strip. I would check the wire leads going out of your PCB to your LED strip and see if that's the issue.
