Elizabeth didn’t use torture, her quad - made up of Christopher Hatton, Sir Francis Walsingham, William Cecil and Robert Dudley (but mostly Cecil and Walsingham) were in charge of that side of things. Also, Elizabeth only signed the death warrant for Mary under duress and she signed it and put it in a draw. Cecil stole it and she was executed the next day before Elizabeth could stop it
EDIT: Mary I didn’t execute Lady Jane Grey to begin with, she only had her executed after the Wyatt Rebellion of 1554

John could be untrustworthy and vengeful, but he wasn't exceptionally cruel. He probably shouldn't even be on this list. He had powerful enemies in the French king, the Pope, and a bunch of seditious barons. Defeated by the French and blackmailed by the Pope, he was forced by the barons to sign the Magna Carta, which in its first iteration was intended to protect the rights of the barons and the Church. He was cultured and active, the first Norman king who familiarized himself with England and the first who could speak English. He took a personal interest in developing and improving the administration, and gave England its first fleet. He was not a bad king, but he was erratic and tended to lose his wars. He has had bad PR ever since.

Interestingly, if I’m correct, Magna Carta needed King John’s approval, and John, not bothering to even read it, signed Magna Carta without realising that he had just agreed to have his his power over England be restrained, which was how King John became a constitutional monarchy. This is why England, and later, Britain, is a constitutional monarchy, not an absolute one. It’s also why Britain has never had an absolute monarchy, only monarchies that slowly became more constitutional.

Elizabeth I was (comparatively) moderate by 16th Century standards. As an example, there were far fewer Catholic martyrs in her 46 year reign than Protestant martyrs during her sister Mary's 5-year reign. One could argue the Transatlantic Slave Trade began on her watch but much of the 'cruelty' in her reign was at the hands of powerful men in her counsel as opposed the Queen herself. Elizabeth had a temper but she was more tolerant than her contemporaries.

I can't help thinking King John gets something of a bad deal. He certainly was a predominately bad king - but his much celebrated brother Richard the Lionheart forbade women from his coronation, incited anti-Semitic riots and spent most of his reign on expensive Crusades, barely spending any time at home. At least John stayed in England.

You missed out Richard III. He was the youngest brother and his older brother was the King, however when his brother died, Richard's nephews were next in line to the throne. These two young princes were rumored to be killed in their sleep by correct me if im wrong but stabbed. It is said that the murder of the two princes were in the hands of richard as he ordered his men to kill the young boys to make himself the next person in line to the throne

THERE IS SOMETHING SEPARATE I HAVE TO SAY INVOLVES SUBJECT OF (BRITISH MONARCHS)
Now first off, what if a small number of alternate realities the ten (British Monarchs) we know about are not horrible people; But instead the ones that exist in the alternate realities each one is a complete opposite of the ones that once existed in the true reality that we all exist in, and that includes the possibility that there might of been secretly skilled experts who knew how to handle dealing with horrible people without them selves coming close to becoming horrible people too.

Some people say that Richard III wasn’t as bad as they say because William Shakespeare wrote those things in his play Richard III to impress Elizabeth I so she thought that her grandad Henry VII was right to take the throne after the war of the roses.

No he fucking didn't why would he murder the sons of the brother he worshipped when they had already been made illegitimate, it was more than likely Henry Tudors mother Margaret Beaufort who ordered the murders of the Princes in the Tower to clear the way for her son who had no legitimate claim to the throne & most of the bad stuff attributed to King Richard III has been proved to be Tudor propaganda
