And the media exploited her again and again over the next 30 years with the horrific details being recalled repeatedly, all for the sake of The Sun and the Mirror and all the rest of them wanting to sell a few more papers. And worst of all they did it when Mrs West was slowly dying of cancer.

I still wish one could do anything for her. For me is no question all that torture let her cancer break out, since we know enough about these things around soul and health.

It was any mothers worst nightmare & I sympathise with all they suffered. Mrs Reade spent years not knowing what had become of her daughter & understandably her health suffered as a result; this only improved once Pauline was found. Mrs West had to listen & see her daughters suffering, can anything be worse? To manage her distress Mrs West was prescribed a cocktail of sedatives & other medications which, I think, may have caused her to become confused about certain events. This is understanding, as she herself said, she was virtually in a trance at some points & haunted by the sounds & images of Leslie Ann. David Smith, to his eternal credit, seemed to have understood this. Maureen less so perhaps, although I sympathise with what Maureen experienced I don't find her particularly likeable and the fact that she, a mother herself, was able to forgive her sister & lobby for her release leaves a nasty taste. Only Nellie Hindley appears to have been quite pleasant, though she did lie at the trial.

It really goes to show that even though they were caught and sent to prison, Hindley and Brady left a massive trail of destruction behind them how anyone could have argued and fought for Hindley's release is shocking she was just as involved and culpable as Brady was and that tape proved it and sealed her fate. It was never released for the general public to listen to as apparently it was so upsetting to hear what was happening to that poor little girl. That poor lady, her life must’ve been horrendous just like the parents of the other children who were murdered probably were. This is so very sad to see the mothers face such grief. Even though, except one child hasn't been found..yet and he will. These poor women and their families will grieve until the day they pass. I remember my son went missing when he was 5 he rode off on his bike I couldn't find him anywhere. For two hours we looked for him and I was thinking someone had got him. I remember breaking down crying then as I turned the corner a police man had brought him back home the relief I felt was overwhelming I couldn't thank the police man enough. I really don't understand how them evil pair could have done what they did neither do I want to understand. I looked up Ann here after watching her recount the disappearance of her daughter Lesley in The Moors Murders movie. Her pain was so palpable that I had to catch my breath. All I wanted to do was hug her... 😪
Ann West must have had to listen to that tape what they recorded of her daughters voice over and over again. No words could ever describe how she must have felt. I hope she's at peace now and with her beautiful daughter.
You can see the toll it took on Ann West the poor woman she looks so vacant and it really aged her. That evil pair left a massive trail of destruction behind them when they went to prison, they destroyed those families and Hindley had the nerve to keep screaming her innocence and attempts at parole was a slap in the face to the families thank god both were never released

This is so very sad to see the mothers face such grief. Even though, except one child hasn't been found..yet and he will. These poor women and their families will grieve until the day they pass. I most certainly would've backed her in the killing of hindley if she was let out alive but thankful that she did rot in prison. I hope to God that bradey does leave some sort of clue to where Kieth is on that moor then Brady can be burned alive for all I care!!!! I remember my son went missing when he was 5 he rode off on his bike I couldn't find him anywhere. For two hours we looked for him and I was thinking someone had got him. I remember breaking down crying then as I turned the corner a police man had brought him back home the relief I felt was overwhelming I couldn't thank the police man enough. I really don't understand how them evil pair could have done what they did neither do I want to understand. That poor girl how could she as a woman allow that to happen I really don't know but hopefully she is getting what she deserves in hell!

NO WAY I would have gone along w/it. But there are many cases of women who have gone along w/dreadful crimes to hold a relationship together. A mom is in prison in TX because she failed to protect her child fr/her lesbian GF who was executed for murdering the kid.

I love him to bits but still dont have anything to do with other kids. I am just not the type of woman to coo over babies etc. However, I would never ever hurt a child. If someone even said it as a joke I would be at the police station within no time at all reporting them. Hindley and women like her are not normal.

That was a doctor called Sarah Trevellian (Might have spelt that wrong), she went to Holloway Prison numerous times as part of her job, and spoke to Myra Hindley as part of a prison medical course meeting, or some such shite. Some people are harsh and unforgiving. But some things are just too basic, too awful, for a human being to forgive. The families of the Moors Murders victims understandably could not forgive the brutal murders of their children.
Lord Longford exaggerated his power as did Myra Hindley herself. Great Britain has an aristocracy but their political power is quite limited. The action is not in the House of Lords but the House of Commons. Lord Longford was a wealthy man and he was not powerLESS but his title, even backed up by wealth, could not overcome the will of the majority in today's United Kingdom.
