    This video is so great! You are so creative and clever! I just love how you presented your unique ideas, tips and tricks. Plus your videos are visually pleasing and easy to follow. I’ve been making diy videos for a while but I know there is still so much to learn. I love the idea of making dupes on a budget. I don’t think we have any pottery barns near me so it’s even better that I can make my own now. I’m happy to come across a talented creator like you. I’d really love to learn more from each other.

    Very pretty work! Thanks for the idea of using the side of the craft stick to create those lines! I love those sort of useful, handy tips! 👌😄👍👏💯

    Nice work! I've watched a lot of these videos, and you're the ONLY person who actually prepped the surface first; my question is always how well will the finish adhere. Well done!

      So far so good but you still can’t submerge them in water.

    Super nice. Can't wait to do some, too. BTW, you need to remove your craft table top with all the paint and natural distressing, frame it and hang it on the wall. It's gorgeous! Thanks for sharing and you have a new subscriber. 😀

    Hi you are my 7/4/24 present. Loved your wax brush cleaning video. I just stumbled onto it. I do ceramics and there are a lot of interesting non texture vases I work with. I use gold leaf sometimes for punch but it's so tedious. I'm about to begin using Metallique waxes, hence my interest in brush cleaning. I had NO IDEA about the use of Plaster of Paris. Question: Could you put Plaster of Paris on a fired ceramic piece and while P of P is still wet press a stencil into it for design purposes? If so one could create some wonderful designs. What do you think?

    You don’t necessarily have to use a primer. You can rough sand to give it ‘tooth’.

    Instead of Slick Stik, could I use a course gesso? I live in Europe & we don’t have all the American products.

    • @DoDodsonDesigns
      @DoDodsonDesigns  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve never used gesso so I can’t say. I do believe that these products are available in Europe. You can search on this website for a dealer near you. dixiebellepaint.com?aff=80

    Instead of sanding your project after it dries...wet a sponge and lightly go over it. It will do the same thing as sanding...but you won't be breathing the harmful dust.

    I know this is a old video. My maiden is Dodson. You just don't here the name often. I was just wondering could we be a long lost cousin. My father was Raymond and Uncle James. Let me know. Thanks so much. Liked your video.

    I tried painting the slick stick over my vessel and let it dry. I didn't have plaster of Paris but I had dry dex, the stuff that starts out pink and turns white as it dries. While I was applying the drydex, it started to pull the slick stick away in patches from the vessel. What did I do wrong?

    • @DoDodsonDesigns
      @DoDodsonDesigns  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Could be one of 2 things. The glass wasn’t cleaned well causing the slick stick not to bond or the slick stick didn’t have enough dry time. Slick stick is water-based and could reactivate with the plaster.
