The primary difference that is a sure bet whether or not it's a fox or coyote which the TH-camr failed to mention: Look at the legs. If the legs look as if they are wearing black socks - You are looking at a FOX. BOOM!
A few days ago, I had a run in with a coyote while walking home from a coffee shop. I didn’t know how to identify at the time so I think it was a coyote but I have seen foxes in the area too
The entire description in this video is narrated. Why not show pictures to demonstrate the physical differences, and play audio recordings to let viewers hear the difference between the sounds each makes?
I have never mistaken a Red Fox or Grey Fox for a coyote and have never heard anyone claim they had a hard time telling. LOL. I thought from the title, this would be about the sound.difference. THAT would have been something to discuss not go on about the difference in color and size and habits
Sorry to sound so irritable, but I can't refrain from a little bit of (hopefully constructive) criticism: There's already a droning quality to the voice over that just gets annoyingly drawn out when, in a video meant to help people distinguish two animals, you lapse into long-winded, vacuous, and self-evident phrases like "In order... to tell these two canids apart... you will... need to know... what each of them... looks like..." Seriously, why are you stating the painfully obvious, at a snail's pace, a full minute into a video that we've already established is about distinguishing the two animals? This is a potentially informative video, but I fear your audience is by that point pulling their hair out waiting for you to say something actually informative...
Repetitive info. Better to show the images of coyote vs. fox side-by-side for comparison, instead of slide with words. When talking about sound, better to use the actual sounds than talking about it.
What's your favorite wild canid? Mine is the fox!
Same and bye the way you and your team are awesome. Keep up the good work ❤️🦊
@@Naturetwins Thank you so much!
Mine is fox,coyote and wolf!
Mine is a leopard

Came to hear the sounds differences...left with none.

Thank you! I was trying to figure out what just walked through my backyard.
I was going to subscribe until I heard the song… lol just teasing. Thank you this was very informative.

It would help if you had labeled the videos as fox or coyote.
Otherwise great information. I tend to like foxes too. 🦊
love coyotes
Thank you! Very informative.
Uh oh, then I think it was two coyotes I just saw crossing my street when I came home at night from work.
Did he talk about the pupil size… lol I doubt I’ll be that close. Hope not anyway.
Not helpful without the actual vocalization added to video
Well done! 🦊👍
Very good
Good info
Why not SHOW photos of both when doing the comparison, and play recordings of their sounds?
More is the Er, est for irregular verbs. So more bushy not more bushier.🦊😊

I googled the difference in their sounds. Why did I get this?
My dream channel
Saw one alone in our yard after dark. Looked like a fox but it was too dark. We have a small dog that goes out after dark so I’m a little concerned.
Go outside before your dog does
@@joedkat
If I sense a threat I usually do.
Then DO NOT LET YOUR SMALL DOG OUT, WITHOUT A LEASH AND YOU AT THE END OF THAT LEASH! Simple as that!!!!!!
@@suekovach5005
Negatory My dog never goes on a leash. We live in the country
10-15lbs, about the size of a very large house cat... looks at my 13.5 lb cat 😳

LIved in the city my whole life, can't tell them apart! First time I saw a possum I thought it was a rat on steroids!!!
Many countries don't even have any of these animals. I've never seen any of them until today. Now I know it was a fox.
👍🏻
Thanks for your support Nancy!
What about jackals?
When they mix the animals look bigger an you can't tell. You think that are a mix of other then
3:04 CAN WE HEAR THEM
Fox's at times mix in to a coyote 🐺 pack.
They weigh less than a coyote. . .judging by size alone I get that but I ain't gonna pick up wild dogs to compare lol
Of course not but you tell on sight a pug weighs less than a pit bull without having to pick anything up
My favorite is Fox 👻👻👻👻👻👻
Coyotes are like lesser wolves...a pack of them killed our dalmation years ago. Country knock-off wolves
