Actually, watching and exposing yourself to more streams with languages that you don't understand, improves your comprehension of that language. Even if you don't understand, if you keep watching, you will eventually understand. That's basically how I learned English. When I was a kid, I just watched a lot of TH-cam videos and English movies until I can understand them.
how kenmochi feels towards EN streams is about the same as the general feel for Overseas viewers towards JP streams we wanna enjoy them just as much as JP viewers but the language barrier can be struggle to get over let's all work together in studying the other language, and thank you clippers for your work in the community o7

I’m the opposite of Kenmochi in the regard of being able to enjoy foreign streamers. I can understand Japanese quite well but there’s also a lot of times where I don’t quite get it. So one day I hope to be able to understand it perfectly. I have been working on my kanji lately and I also need to learn more vocabulary so one day it may happen.
For the basics, yes. Reading and listening to advance Japanese helps. Also have a japanese to english and english to japanese dictionary, it helps a lot.

Depends if you actually want to watch entire streams. I enjoy them quite a bit more but if you're just watching clips anyway it doesn't change much.
