The one thing Dixie always said on her triple crown journeys was using baby powered in her hair when she brushed it to minimize the oil and detalgeling her hair. Also put the baby wipes in a ziplock bag to kelp moist. Or do as I do dry them out . Then put them in a zip lock bag. Add water as needed to keep your weight down. Do as you please. May I suggest Neutrrogena ultra sheer for the sunscreen and face care.
My first aid used to be just a Boo-Boo kit but after that machete attack a couple years ago, I added a tourniquet, 5x9 bandage, gauze roll, & 4" cohesive wrap.
Dr. Bronner's.....excellent all around soap! Some hikers have success withe the disks (hands wipe) which you rehydrate and use......less weight. Easy to mail in a resupply box..
Gum on AMZN has a folding travel affordable toothbrush that folds into itself to cover bristles. Also, I take a dial antibacterial piece of soap in a pill pouch ziplock. Good luck, you seem to have things covered.
Very interesting and I don’t think it’s overkill at all. As always HYOH. Question though. What happens at the end of the day with the menstrual cup? Does it have to be emptied and cleaned? Sorry if too personal but I’ve never used one and know they are popular on trails. Thanks and happy trails. 🤘🏻🥾⛰️
Yeah so when I dump it to put it back in, I’ll wipe it out with toilet paper and put it back in. Can also rinse with some water. After putting it in, I use some baby wipes and hand sanitizer. And I use hand sanitizer before I put it in. Obviously will pack that stuff out. When I’m finished using it for the month, will rinse it out, and boil it in some water for 3 minutes to sterilize it. Will also boil it before I use it again the next month.
@@gabicerrahikes Thanks for the response. Very interesting. One of the biggest fears of mine, on trail is getting a UTI because of not being as "clean" as usual. I appreciate your up front response. Good luck and I will be watching and following. Happy trails.🤘🏻🥾🏔
would you ever consider cutting your hair? I'm a bald guy so I can't relate 😅. I followed a female hiker this year and she shaved her head early on in the hike, but had shorter hair anyway. Seems to me that it would be a major challenge to manage long hair on the trail.
Not mentioned in the video: I will be bringing meds such as Ibuprofen, Imodium, etc

I thought about cutting like 3 inches off. Just so theres less of it 🥲 I won’t shave it though or go very short
@S. M. I do follow Dixie
😂
How’s the Kula cloth?
It’s great! It reduces waste and it’s easy to grab and use off the outside of my pack
Did you ever consider a female urination device for the trail?
i put tape around my trekking pole to have a place to put it, duct tape
Yes I’ll do that!
