Hiking and Talking Winter Hiking Gear Layering
Well explained video. Thanks.
Hey Hey Hey-Love the review!!! What is behind the Kangaroo pocket? Is it more microgrid fleece or a thin fabric liner? The pocket looks great I just don’t want to spill all the heat if it isn’t laying flush.
It’s a fabric layer! I’ve never found an issue with it though, it’s super warm
You can score the three pack of valves from amazon for like $14. You’ll be able to make any mix of gas by having the propane and alternate butane attachments. And save $20.
Great gear! I own many of them including the Trailbuddy poles BUT... I broke one on the Foothills trail hahaha. Snapped in two (on my video) sliding down a mud section.
Oh noooo 😂 I guess something would’ve done them in someday, but for normal use I’m surprised how durable they are
Hey Gabi, great video! Some cool products there, I definitely need that pump and pillow. Those poles seem like a great value, might be nice to have as set of guest poles around here.
They are, and that’s smart to have extra poles!
Thank you sooo much for pronouncing it as “bay-leaf”. Most other content creators call it “belief”, and it frustrates me. I guess those of us from CT know to pronounce things correctly, lol. And also yes, they’re amazing pants. Along with the Nitecore headlamp. Another fave I used daily.
😂😂
Awesome products Gabi. Always appreciate them. Happy trails.🤘🏻🥾⛰️
Same to you!
Great video!🥾
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video Gabi. I am going to get one of those headlamps. I have a week-long rustic cabin trip coming up. I bring a small solar panel and battery with me so I can charge stuff like that up. Going to a PATC cabin down here in Virginia! God bless.
Have fun Frank!
Hiked up and enjoyed a snack on the tower this summer. Our pup Penny did not like the see through platform either! The ski area nearest to you that you saw was Stratton.
Thanks so much for sharing the beautiful footage and updates on your life. Wish you all the best with your professional endeavors and doing what you love.
Thank you so much!
Hey Gabi, nice update! Happy seeing your business grow, having that flexibility will be so nice. Pretty hike with the fall colors, but I don’t know what’s worse, a sturdy tower with a see through platform, or rickety wooden one that you can’t see through 😂. Ending the adventure with a proper treat 👍
Always gotta end with a sweet treat 😂 I think the rickety tower would be worse, this one was new but I hated seeing below me lol
Stunning hike friend, scenes are just mind blowing! Love it
My sister would freak out on that tower. Good going staying that long. Live the life you dream of. It can be done with your background for sure. Escape the rat race. 😊❤
Tower was sketchy for sure, I got over it after 5 minutes or so but i wish they closed up the floor 😂 and yes, I’m hoping to make freelance work full time in the next year!
Same on looking down from that lookout tower although I'm not sure 5 minutes would be enough for me!
It’s so pretty up there, I wish they made the floor less scary lol
Hiking in cooler weather is right up my alley. I really enjoy your longer youtube video. I was out the other week when the leaves were in peak. I wasn't watching where I was going, tripped, and broke a bone in my foot. Thank God not too serious. I just have to wear a boot for 6-8 weeks...bummer.Look8ng forward to next time and keeping my fingers crossed 🤞 for your new clients to firm up their accounts.😊
Glad you enjoyed it! And oh man, that’s terrible! At least it’s during the winter now when there’s not much to do anyways, you’ll be all ready to hike next year
When I was up there that building was open and we got to charge all of our devices there. A guy who worked there also pointed out that Mount Washington was visible off in the distance. It was my first sighting of Washington; great moment. It has to be a very clear day though.
That’s so cool!!
I also hate when random people catch me talking to the camera. They look at me weird and I’m like, just go ahead and pass me die.
Hiking always gives you energy especially on such a beautiful day. Bromley Mountain is one of my favorite in Vermont.
It was amazing! Way better than the southern 60 miles I hiked
Wow glad you went back. We stayed in the warming hut on our section hike. Such a cool mountain. I want to go back. Great video. Happy trails.🤘🏻🥾⛰️
It was beautiful! Hike up wasn’t hard either
Hi Gabi! I was just thinking yesterday that you had not posted a video in awhile. Glad you got out to the hills! What you said about having a career where you can get a lot of time off is legit. I worked a government job where I got 8 weeks of leave each year I made less money at that job than others but I would not trade all those days off for anything. Thanks for sharing your hike with us, maybe next time you can bring Hunter along, that guy is a riot! God bless!
8 weeks off is amazing! Wow, what type of job did you do? Having time freedom means so much more than money. Never know when it’s your last day, can’t wait until retirement. Hunter and I had to compromise on how much he hikes, so I have to go solo more often 😂
@@gabicerrahikes I worked for public schools as a 12 month employee, we had 12 paid holidays, 12 sick days and the rest was vacation time . I was not a teacher but the teachers had even more time than I did. With your degree you could easily get a teaching certificate and get a job pretty much anywhere in the country. I think you would make a great teacher! Maybe high school marketing?
Nice video. Glad that you got out on a beautiful day. Happy Trails. Good Luck, Rick
Thanks!
Don't be fooled by the name it's beautiful there
Devil's hopyard is the best place to find the mineral Mica
Very cool! I didn’t know that
Thanks for the video! I was just wondering which time of the year did you record this?
September!!
@@gabicerrahikes I see thanks! I will be visiting en mid November, I hope there will be still some green sighting
Haven’t done Pierce yet but we did Eisenhower. I can legitimately smell the pines from this video and i just love it. The Whites are unrelentingly rugged and rough but so good and satisfying. The gradual change in terrain as you summit a 4K just never gets old either.
It's so good!
Awesome hiking footage! I'm headed here in early to mid November. Thank you for sharing I now have an idea of what to expect.
Hope you enjoy it!
Beautiful hike. About the Merrell Moabs, I watched your recent video about your ankle woes and I thought I’d mention that I used to hike in the Moabs and although they felt great, I still always felt like I was going to turn my ankle (and sometimes did). I’ve switched to zero-drop, wide-toe, low stack height trail runners and it’s made a huge difference in my stability. Being lower to the ground with no heel lift is a game changer, and it’s completely solved my knee issues too. Just something to consider! Love your channel.
I use trail runners 3 seasons! So I rolled my ankles in the trail runners. I’ve tried zero drop but it hurts my Achilles. Thank you!
The algorithm just brought me to your account for the first time. I relate with you on the turned ankle issue! It’s been a constant in my life, with multiple sprains and torn ligaments, until I switched to zero drop minimalist trail shoes. Now my feet are so stable and low to the ground and I no longer feel like turning my ankle is even possible. Just a thought in case you haven’t tried barefoot footwear. Love my Altra Lone Peaks. No more stiff (supposedly supportive) hiking boots for me.
I’ve tried barefoot footwear, sadly it doesn’t work well for me. Glad you found my channel! Thanks for watching
Cool hike, good to see you getting out there. ✌🏼
Nice trip. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it
Yes, Gabi! That's pure freedom and a great adventure. Beautifully filmed.
Thanks so much! 😊
Hey Gabi, looks like a fun trip, thanks for sharing! That trail looks so rocky, how did it feel hiking with the extra oxygen? I need to get out east and see for myself some sometime.
Beautiful solo trip my friend! Shots are amazing 🥾🥾
Thanks a lot!
Great weather for a out and back trip.
It sure was
Another great video. Beautiful views. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!!
Nice video. I should have given you a couple of home made fire starters. You can make them with a cardboard egg carton, sawdust, and some old candles. They burn for a while so, they work with damp tinder and wood. Happy Trails. Good Luck, Rick
Great idea
@@gabicerrahikes Just an old Boy Scout trick. They taught us a lot of good tricks when I joined in 1962. If you can find old Boy Scout Handbooks to read you will find many lost skills. Good Luck, Rick
Wow I was there only a month ago Gabbi. Beautiful views. Love that mountain. Happy trails.🤘🏻🥾⛰️
Awesome! Thank you!
A 2nd chair at your campsite for safety - what a great idea!
I know you know this, but I really suggest wearing boot lace-up brace for support, at least for a while till ankle strengthens. Rolled/sprained my ankle last August. Ligament tear. Persistent leg tendon “ache” so opted for surgery in January. Don’t risk frequent ankle rolls or as you said, you could wind up spraining. I live in Greenville, SC and still so much damage and people without power from Helene. 😞 I remember you visited here when you hiked the Foothills trail.
I loved that area when I visited. Wishing you safety and quick recovery. ❤️🩹
@@gabicerrahikes Thank you so much, Gabi.
That was nice Gabbi! At my age the only camping I can do is car camping and I love trips like that. I probably said this before but I love that your videos are real, nothing fake, totally legit. God bless!
Thank you Frank!
I would never hike the Appalachian trail
Fair lmao
Nice job. Thar higher elevation can get to you. Views awesome
So many false summits when hiking. One just has to laugh.
That’s a mound of crap!
The views were amazing. And your cheeks must hurt from all the smiles you had.
Oh for sure :)
It is beautiful out there but I just can't imagine how hard that is on a person's lungs!
It’s hard to believe till you experience it! Air feels the same, but yeah, when you’re doing exercise and you’re breathing, it’s not enough so you’re panting
That is so cool. I live just north of Denver in the suburbs. Rocky Mountain national park is an hour away. I’m glad you had a great time. Hopefully you’ll get a chance someday to go to Northwestern Wyoming. Specifically the Wind River Range and the Teton Crest. Those are my favorite places.
Hopefully this year we will hit the Tetons when I visit again!
Hey Gabi, awesome job documenting the trip! We all had a great time hanging out with you. Looking forward to the next adventure!
Can't wait!
Thanks for sharing! That's absolutely beautiful there. ❤ You'll have to hike a few more trails with him
That's the plan!
