Steve, great tid bit for the Uniq! I have only had mine for 6 months. I ordered the sleeves and the table as a kit and it came with a stainless steel adapter that has threads on one end that fit into the sleeves and a slide in compression fitting that could attach to a tube to attach to a blow gun. For me the tip of the blow gun slides into the top of that fitting and works just like your 3d printed solution. I assume that since yours was shipped a while ago, they took some feedback and added the fitting. Keep up the great work!
I use my POS Jet oscillating edge sander for tasks like sanding door edges, or frames where I have an overhang on parts I’d line to flush up. It’s is OK at this, but had never been a great tool - belt tracking has to be constantly adjusted, it is hard to square and adjust bed to platen, dust shroud is a joke, etc. with the Unique, I have seen the jointing mode, where you work on the side with the small section of the belt, but how does it handle traditional edge sanding tasks? Was looking at a Cantek or similar 9” edge sander, but the footprint is huge.
Hi Matthew. I understand the feeling as my previous edge sander was a Grizzly non-oscillating edge sander I suffered with for 15 years with similar issues to what you describe with the Jet. It sounds like I need to do a complete review of the Kündig Uniq. Once I track a belt it keeps its position, dust collection is good but not perfect. Segments of some previous videos show the traditional side in use and in the interim, I suggest looking at this video starting about the 26 minute point. Matthew, I, Like Steve have had a few edge sanders. Before my Kundig Uniq, I had a Felder Hammer HS950. It was great value, but not like the Kundig. The weight of the Kundig makes for a much more stable and accurate machine. I am sure Steve will make a great video about the uses that it has.
@@pkwoodworking I almost went with Hammer when it first came out. Couldn’t decide and was in a pinch so went with the Jet as a sub 1k option. Highly regret this decision, so it’s on the list to be replaced. You clearly ended up with the Uniq - would you skip the Hammer if you went that route again? Side note - amazing shop you’ve put together… that FS 7 is incredible! I’m on a Hammer A3-31 for 6 years now, and have been looking at either an AD941 or a SCM (Minimax) FS41 Elite S. Had a quote from Sam on a FS52 Elite S, but didn’t realize the FS 7 was a practible option… may end up being too rich but good to know it’s an option! Anything 4-post planer bed will be a huge improvement over the Hammer line - it’s been great but now flexes a good bit under moderate loads.
@@matthewlramsey That is a lot to take in - Thanks! I really like the SCM Stuff lately. The Hammer HS950 is a good machine for the price. A Kundig Uniq is 13 times the price of the Hammer. If you can find a deal on a Uniq (used or a massive sale) it is a masterpiece.
Very clever! Thanks for the tip Steve.
Thanks. Steve
Thanks dear Steven...for you always have; an good "understanding" Gem; in woodworking. Thus, We❤You, Amen!
Thank you Pat. Always good to hear from you. Have a blessed day! Steve

Thanks Paul. Good to hear they have a fix for this on the newer models. Steve
Very helpful, thanks!
Glad it was helpful! Steve
