Not hating by any means, but in your first video you do state that you can ship up to 8 cards in a shipping shield with one stamp. Shipping shield is a great product and not trash, some people just don't understand how to use them.
I've since revised my shipping method and considered taking down that video. I added a note in the comments. 8 cards was the official recommendation from the shipping shield creator but after a lot of time with them I've found they max at around 3-4 cards. It is just unfortunate that most people do not know this, that's why I suggest not using them altogether now.
@@CardThrone I'm planning on selling Pokemon cards on eBay. Would you be willing to make an updated video showing how you ship your cards? I want to make sure I have happy customers.
@@AFKStrayGet some #10 self seal envelopes, don't use tape on top loader, place inside a team bag so that the top of loader (or shipping shield) is at bottom of team bag, use a piece of plain paper (or the invoice) and fold it the long way (I do three folds so the card sits in the middle) tape the team bag (with loader of choice sealed inside) to the paper -> I placed it to the far right but you can do middle, put inside the #10 envelope and place label onto that. You can tweak as you like to suit your own liking but there really is no correct method. Just send it the way you would like to receive it. No crazy amount of tape, no over packed envelopes, and the less is more approach. Best of luck!!
Card > Sleeve with pull tab > Top loader > Team bag > wrap in invoice > masking tape ON SIDES OF INVOICE > windowed envelope with address in window > stamp and return label. Shipped.
Cardboard is to help against small dings that can easily go right through a toploader tho...a bubble mailer can only do so much, I know you hate tape near cards as do most people, but you have to be reasonable. It doesn't matter how bad tape is if it touches cards if you know, it never touches the card? Taping the sides of cardboard together isn't even that hard to remove. As for the 3rd one, again, the tape isn't touching that cards so it shouldn't matter. You can see where the tape ends, you can easily grab at it without damaging the cards and then it's just unraveling, or you can just slice at the intersection between the 2 cardsavers with a knife. As for why they taped it like that, well it's pretty simple really, it's so that it stays together and seperated in a #10 envelope. If you don't tape it securely, they can come loose and stack on 1 side, which obviously is going to get caught in a sorting machine. I have shipped thousands of orders with that 3rd method and never had any issues at all. I've had plenty of orders come back as RTS and upon inspecting the cards they're still in perfect condition. I've probably refunded like 3 people for cards getting damaged/bent in transit out of around 12,000 orders
I need to make an updated shipping video, but in general my philosophy is less is more. Also, more people need to buy team bags or graded card sleeves instead of going overboard with tape, they're cheap. Overstuffing Shipping Shields or Card Savers is the primary way I've seen cards get damaged.
I’ve used shipping shields for 600+ orders. I find people Tend to not line them up properly in the envelope. For 1 shipping shipped I’ll do 6 max, 3 cards a penny sleeve. But I place it horizontal about little off the edge of the envelope. So when the machine grabs it it’s not really grabbing the shield. Then with 2 shipping shields I space them vertically where the envelope can still bend but not directly grab the shields. I’ve had 2 issues, but when I asked the customers it seems to be the postal service shoving it in the mailbox rather than bending in the machine.
Yeah, 6 cards is about the max I've seen not get damaged in a shipping shield. Unfortunately most people buying them don't know this. Just got another order in today where someone jammed 15 into one shield, of course they were all completely bent.
I've been shipping TCG a lot many years ago, you always have the customers that leave negative feedback because of not enough protection (despite not paying the increased shipping fees) and those that complain when you pack in too many layers. Usually my rule for shipping was, under 10$ penny sleeve if single or two cards add one extra on both sides, four or more cards put four in each penny sleeve, put a peace of paper on the open part of the sleeve and tape it shut with one peace of regular sticky tape, then glue the sleves onto a postcard with one peace of sticky tape on the right and left side of the sleeve and place the postcard front facing (where the letter i stamped) in an envelope...If I shipped more then 4 cards also put a post card on the back. Could not do that since it would have increased the standard letter price due to the overweight when less then 4 cards had been bought (Over 10$ ordered I did it on my own costs). Most people been fine but every 100 orders or so, you had one that left a negative feedback. But I stopped 8 years ago, because it was so much work for little to no profit. And then you had those customers that ordered a 1$ card which was graded ex but complained it would be rather lp asking for a partial refund or they would leave a negative feedback...like it's a 1$ card, I can refund you 50cents sure, but I had to respond to a mail refund aso. all that for 50cent. The same with those that ordered under 10$ non tracked letter and somehow always those letters did never arrive...and the worst, those that order an expensive card, then say it was a fake card, send that card to TCG market (EU plattform I sold on), they confirm it is a fake, you ask them to send you pictures of the card and then find out that the card was not the card you send to the customer because it does not have the same cut or centering or "damage" as the one you send. So happy I could prove this because I listed the card with a picture and when you compared both even TCG market cnfirmed the card they received was not the one I made a picture form and listed, and thanks to 1k+ sales they trusted me over the guy that just had under 10 orders...But yes all that..not worth it...still sit on a ton of TCG and one day I have to sell again, I said I do that when I am old and retired and got time for all that crap. 😅
The outdated updates to TCG have left sellers trying to make ends meet on orders that are 50+ on $0.03 cards. I've lost money on multiple orders just so customers can get them. The shipping should be dynamic to amount of cards ordered. Long term buyers should know this, if they want dirt cheap cards don't order more than 15 per order.
Don't work for free. If the math is not mathing then change your prices! You will still beat out people that price lower once your inventory expands and you get more multiple quantity orders.
Can I pack an envelope and send it to you the same way I send out my tcgplayer orders and you review it? Doesnt have to be an in depth review it could be a short and if you like it give me a shout out?

In this case I'd rather use toploaders which can also fit 3 cards in a penny sleeve without damage, and are cheaper than shipping shields.

sounds good. i started using tabbed sleeves also, makes a better buyer experience.
First package was fine. The government will survive if we use their bubble mailers and boxes.
They don't have a problem wasting taxpayers' money on BS every year, so they won't have a problem when you reuse their boxes to ship Pokemon cards.
I want shipping things to be affordable.

Never bought singles lots before, but this video sure does make me want to keep it that way! 😮
