You guys are awesome! Thanks so much for all the comments on this video! Did not expect it to be seen by so many! Already working on the next video in this series and I can already tell you it will be bendy funky!
Looks great! if you add edge seams before uv unwrapping you'll get more control over how the UV map looks and it'll be much more uniform too which means when making the textures, they will appear more like what you made :) Love your subtle use of grease pencil as well, I haven't had the heart to attempt that style yet myself!
Ps for that image sequence to stick on the bin. Use a shrinkwrap with keep off face. Tgen you can change the height.. also parent it to the bin so it moves along when you move it if you want to
Thanks a lot!!! Also a great way to approach this and way more fun than the clunky setup I use right now. My issue with this was though was the limited resolution of the UV map that comes from it so far 😕
Thanks a lot Hubert! Yeah this workflow is super specific tailored to my 2D style. I used to do more "photorealistic" stuff for concept art in 3D but was always wondering if I could emulate parts of my 2D work in Blender. Then I stumbled across the work of Alberto Mielgo and Spiderverse and I was sold on this 😅
Ohohohoh Well, you are not going to stay at 500 subscribers very long my friend, literally paused at 20 seconds to write this. Please don't stop and try to post more videos !
@@preciouschilongozi8221 haha that came out of nowhere! Really stoked about all you guys being here and supporting this little journey. Hope I can live up to the expectations and release another video soon!
Thanks a lot! Oh I remember I tried that when they released that function but procreate kept crashing on me 😞 maybe I should try again for the next video! Do you know if there is any limitations to it with the amount of polygons I can import?
Omg, this video's colors pop like nothing I've seen before!!! I'm watching it from a MacBook Pro and the use of HDR is mindblowing. What's your HDR workflow? Also, what camera did you use to record yourself (just curious if it's an HDR-rated camera)? Amazing, crazy style and taste (throughout the whole video, and the final animation)!
Haha to be honest I kind of fumbled it by accident during color grading and set the color space to an HDR profile. I assume because all the regular filmed footage came from my iphone 13pro and the screenrecordings were also recorded with quicktime on my macbook, it automatically saved the HDR profile! That his though will be displayed in youtube was beyond my belief haha
Slow and steady! Haven’t been the most active over here for a LONG time and this channel used to focus more on skateboarding the last years 😅 Now it is all art and climbing!
very cool video. you know that procreate let's you paint directly on 3d objects, right? just like substance painter. edit: just found other people suggesting it 😅 anyway amazing work!
Happy you like it! I will for sure include that in the next video haha! In the past I avoided it since it felt like it hast still some lacking features but I am up for a little challenge!!!
Thanks! I usually still have blender open on the side and select the island I want to paint in blender and see which one it is in the UV Map. Additionally I try to sort it with some attention to what island is where before exporting it to procreate. If it gets too complex with the geometry I also tend to mark the islands already in blender with the UV Paint tool with “front/side/back” and so on
Could you do a video on how the your process of texturing? I imagined when you export the UV map, what’s your guide steps to not get a warped texture when applying it? Im not sure if im getting my question across correctly.
Will try to make a quick short about it tomorrow but I will also go more into detail in my next full length 3D video about how I approach the texturing!
Back when I filmed that video I wasn’t that well versed in drawing in grease pencil yet! So I opted for the fast and dirty method and reused the already drawn face from the concept sketch. It also helped with the more accurate translation from my 2D style to 3D Style that I mentioned in the first half of the video 🙂
@@RomboutVersluijs Absolutely! BUT for my next tutorial I will try to put in all the awesome feedback you and others on this video commented! Good way to get better and share the journey with y'all!
Big inspiration! Tried to learn a lot from it and emulate it for my needs! Still a far away of the insane skill and craft the people behind spiderverse put into it!
I tell you I have heard that exact phrase million times already in my career haha. To be fair sometimes it is helpful given the context but sometimes it is just a big headscratcher
On 8:25 I had this problem with grease pencil to, there is a option on Line Art that you can exclude the object to not interfere with grease pencil
You are a gem! Thanks a lot for the tip. Tried to find an easy solution like this for a while now!

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS, DOMINIKG!
My absolute pleasure!
Such a cool process man!
Thanks and I hope there were some nitbits in it that inspire you to make something like this!

Great additional tips! Can’t remember why I didn’t use shrink wrap for that instance but for sure an easy and quick way to get it in place!
yesssss Dom this video and artwork are amazing
Thanks iris! Had lots of fun with this
Love this workflow!!
Thanks a lot! Bit chaotic and all over the place but it works!
so nice!
Hope there were some fresh nitbits in there for you!
Damn the colors punched me in the eyes. in a good way
nice tutorial and process
haha yeah i accidently rendered this video as HDR so the colors go crazy on some screens 😅 sorry for that!
This is incredible! Additionally, you may paint straight onto the 3D models after importing them into Procreate!
