though I had some problem with sea water It also th-cam.com/users/postUgkxa-FNYUOM93a388gi9a4brtSCEVmrHgJH land for finding any things very easily. (thought it would work as normal due to it being water proof within certain parts of the detector), on dry land and sand worked well. My first one, so still have lots to learn

That was heart-pounding to watch, Leigh. So many of those coins were astoundingly well preserved. The gold coin was beautifully detailed. Do you ever want to stay in one area like that one, for a bit longer, when it holds so much potential for so many ancient coins? Nikki’s filming is amazing.

Nice finds..and you can see why they lost so many. Those coins are dinky. Just like anything small, once it hits the ground it disappears.

I live in Ireland and would love to do some metal detecting here but unfortunately there are very strict rules regarding metal detecting here. It's a real shame.

I'm still trying to get some permissions as a MD beginner and looking to join a MD club (they are not very good at communicating back & neither are the Nation Council for Metal Detecting !?! 🤷♂🤦♂)
I'd be happy to find some ancient ring pulls🥫....it's the thrill of the search and potentially unearthing some history and imagine an artefact so rare that it ends up in a museum.
Until I get going, this is the next best thing, watching your adventures, sharing the excitement & your passion.

The news on TV last week mentioned the law would be changing on finds because too many people were finding treasure and more was to go into public museums rather than in private collections. Your other detectorists will know what I'm on about. But well done. It's great to see all of your treasure finds.
@Saxtoo I heard about that a while ago all the way over here in Seattle. I thought our favorite mudlarking, detectorist, magnet-fishing folks would tell us all about it, but I haven't heard a peep. I'm so curious about how it will impact all our favorite TH-cam channels...

Interesting. Nobody points out the connection to the rainbow. In Germany the celtic coins of this form are called "Regenbogenschüsselchen" rainbow bowls. Because they were often found after strong rainfall on the fields. And there are the fairy tales of the Leprechaun with his pot of goldcoins at the end of the rainbow. The historic backround of this seems to be the celtic warrior tradition to bury ones posessions in a vessel before battle. And all the poor souls that died never had a chance to dig up their goods again. Hence the pot of gold at the end of a rainbow.
Wow yes, I love the rainbow cup staters and these scyphate quarter staters remind me of them. I'd love to come and hunt for them one day

I see that there is a wooded area in the background. Would that be a good place to search? With all the trees there would be less of a chance for the coins to be ruined from farming equipment. Great video.

Unbelievable! can't believe you found so many. coming from a roman area and I've never found anything roman! when Michelle found the gold coin I thought you were gonna suddenly reveal that you'd all already placed it there. that she'd maybe already found the coin some time ago, and here you could all show it off. in a sort of "re-enactment" scene. Lol. but then you started finding one after another..incredible finds. nice one 🙂
Almost unbelievable that so many coins would be in a field for someone to find in a day. Must have been a top secret field with so many detectorists out there. Exciting to see.

Wow that's alot of awesome finds, I was thinking you could always tie your magnet around your waist and drag it behind you while metal detecting to pick up any finds on the surface you may have missed.
