And he brings experience to every job - meaning a far different approach than not, otherwise blundering one's way along. What a Godsend to the project.
And add some weights on the shed's base. Those things take off in a wind like a sail....and mangle everything along the way...including classic cars stored inside!
Brian’s jokes are still funny and the way he has to explain them to Nick, priceless. 😅 Oh yes, the car with the 3 of you tooling down the road, so cool. 👍👍 That boiler is a huge pain in the A&$. What a job, but like you said, it has to come out to get the basement completely cleared. Full power to the work shop and it’s on to bigger and better things. Clearing up all of these bits and bobs is time consuming and when it’s finished it’s finally over with, for now.
MERRY CHRISTMAS DAN! No one has worked harder this year. And to Nick and Brian as well ❤😊. I predicted 1 million subscribers, and I stand by it, even if TH-cam is hiding them!
Remember the old days when the green van didn't run down the road and now you have this outstanding beauty! You have come a long way Dan and I am so proud of you. Greetings from Florida USA ❤
I’m still so impressed at how well you all work together. No one gets crazy when someone else is lagging OR pushing ahead. You all pace yourselves and (seem to) work well together. Everyone pitches in with the menial jobs as well as the biggies. Nice crew!
Have you watched any of Brian's videos? He drives a lovely van named Pascal. Not sure if this is the correct spelling, but Brian has a soft spot for his unique and rather temperamental old friend. Just though the two would hit it off and become best buds. But....will have to see. Pascal is rather unpredictable.😉
It is like an era gone by, coming back to life. You've got the Chateau, the beautiful car. It's an amazing and well-deserved ending to an incredible year and achieving your goal for 2024. I laughed out load at Brian's car joke and in awe of Nicks constant grafting. He's a Viking. I'm looking forward to seeing you all in 2025. 👏🇬🇧😊
Man that's some tough work getting that old boiler out what a massive piece of metal! Got the Riley running that's awesome! Electricity getting hooked up. Nice! Brian and Nick are funny!
The Riley is a gorgeous car! The back story of how you came to purchase it is deeply moving. Glad you brought it home, Dan. I know. I know. Nick has probably heard this a thousand times, but as someone who used to smoke like a damn chimney until I briefly dropped dead, I wish he'd quit. Want him around for a long time, healthy and able to do what he wants. My SO smoked like Nick does and now has steadily worsening COPD. Know it's none of my business. Would just hate for Nick to end up struggling to do the smallest thing like the SO does. I'll shut up now. Wish all of you the best.
Dan, I’m a huge fan and am in absolute awe of what you’re accomplishing in bringing Château Chaumont back to life! A year ago, you had no roof and the chateau was basically still a ruin, and I wondered at your sanity for tackling such an impossible challenge. But here you are now with all floors and roof restored and one can now see the finish line in sight - though still a few years away. I congratulate you and your loyal team for your enormous achievements. Bravi tutti!! I love your new car. Could you tell me what year and make it is? It’s really quite the posh accoutrement!
Dan, I am sooo happy for you! No one deserves a gorgeous vehicle like that more than you! Your team is doing a great job for you and with you and you're doing a great thing by hiring them and providing a wage as well as giving them the opportunity to be a part of history. Well done all of you!
no power steering or power brakes....hmmm ...guess I am really old since that is the kind of car I learned how to drive in was. You can do it, Dan! Just plan your distances! lol - its a real beauty!
When you learn to drive in a car with four-wheel drum brakes, you get into the habit of keeping a healthy gap to the car in front of you. Also, you use the gears to hold a steady speed going down long hills. I still wince when I'm behind someone on a long downhill road and they just ride their brakes the whole way.
That car sounds nice. Great addition to the project. Keep at it gents. The jokes are priceless especially with all the comical expressions. Can’t wait for more. 😎☮️W. coast🇨🇦.
You driving that beautiful Riley reminded me of the good 'ole days when you used to follow your green van with your drone for us! Please, please do a French countryside drive like that with your drone in your Riley for us soon!
The three of you, along w/ the masonry crew and the phantom “orange pants guy” are complete renaissance men, skilled at almost anything one could need to do/have done… adding the dog inspectors just adds to the joy and esprit de corps!
The boiler, the fireplaces and that basin in the basement. Three awful tasks piling up at the same time - cause you kept delaying them earlier - but like you say: once it's done it's done and you can move on to more rewarding jobs. Personally I can't wait to see once the mason starts transforming that basement. The stonework down there is so beautiful, and when it gets renovated it'll be glorious... and a first preview of of things to come on the floors above.
Chateau Car fixed - it runs - well done ! Boiler is coming out Bid by Bid ! Power now Inside the Chateau ! Massive Progress ! Many Cheers from Australia !
A very stylish Chatelain. Beautiful car, beautiful chateau, beautiful friends and adorable children and dogs. Amazing talented person and so very hard working. I wish you all family and friends a very happy Xmas. So look forward to next year to see what miracle you will perform. Michele folds.
As the Riley came out of its shed, I was half expecting Nick to be pushing… also reminded that Brian is a powerhouse of demolition expertise, if ever you need something taken out (like a mantle) in one go, clearly: he’s the one!
Wonderful find Dan your new car is a gem and you deserve something that gives you joy during all your re-build of your beautiful Chateau and the huge garden will be well established when you move in. Great work and support from Nick and Brian. Cheers guys 👌💯🤗❤️🐶
Seeing the car in front of the Chateau was like a flash glimpse into the past, the past grandeur is returning to the Chateau. I love Brian's jokes, keep them coming!
Hi Your work on the Chateau over the last year has been totally absorbing. Other people try to compete with you on other Chateau's but by far your effort, work and devotion leaves everyone else at the starting block. Keep up the great work
Your Riley has a wonderful history as well as an emotional one, you really are going to make some wonderful memories of your own in the car. Great days work gent. Thanks for the vlog. Sleep well lad. K🇬🇧❤️❤️
The car is beautiful! Driving a vintage car is indeed alternately terrifying and glorious fun. It will always put a smile on your face. Not sure why it needs a garage big enough for a double decker bus though.
That car is beautiful! Very fitting for a chateau owner. And Brian's jokes always keep me chuckling lol And Nick's face after a joke looks like "let's not encourage him" lol
You three make me giggle and stand in awe with your incrediable skills and enjoyment with what you are doing on the chateau. Merry Christmas from Aus 🎄🎄🎄
That is a BEAUTIFUL car. When I was a kid my family had a Wolseley 12, apparently the preferred vehicle of the British Police. It was a lovely comfortable vehicle with leather seats, wooden dash, and wind out windshield. My brother became a Riley fan, and he and his friends had several. They are just so elegant. Good luck with her ...
Watching you grin as you drive the Riley made me realize something that should have dawned on me before: You are one damn lucky dude to have talented guys like Nick and Brian support you as you fulfill YOUR fantasies. Lucky. 🍀
This is getting very "real" now with you saying the basement will be clear to start renovating 😮. Love watching each and every video. Many thanks and great job guys😊
The car is such a classic so glad it’s moving. Brian’s jokes are an essential part of the daily vlogs.
Agreed! Yes they are
An episode of Brian jokes would be entirely inappropriate
Must be a classic in Europe. Ive never heard of one.
@@StreetTruckinTitan It’s an old English 🚗
Reminds me of the car in the War of the Roses. Right? I had a red '67 Austin Healey❣️🔥
Seeing your automobile driving up to the Château is so beautiful to see.
Everybody should have a Nick in their life. He never ceases to amaze me with things he can accomplish
And he brings experience to every job - meaning a far different approach than not, otherwise blundering one's way along. What a Godsend to the project.
Nick is truly my hero😍
And he's so Zen...
Just love Nick ❤
Dan's good fellow
The Riley and the Chateau look good together. Congrats on getting the car going.
Get a ground tarp for the ‘garage’. You don’t want to be parking that car on bare ground as the damp will start rusting it from the bottom.
And a front door tarp....
Or ask the Irish bloke if there is space for it to camp out next to Pascal this winter.
@@LifeOfATinkerer That blokes name is Brian!
And add some weights on the shed's base. Those things take off in a wind like a sail....and mangle everything along the way...including classic cars stored inside!

When you told the story of your friend and the car, I was brought to tears. Seeing you drive it - what a beautiful thing. Truly amazing amazing.
That Riley is the most beautiful car. So glad you got it going and had the pleasure of driving it. Such a treasure.
The car is a work of art. It’s stunning!
MERRY CHRISTMAS DAN! No one has worked harder this year. And to Nick and Brian as well ❤😊. I predicted 1 million subscribers, and I stand by it, even if TH-cam is hiding them!
The best part was, the old car is running again. What a beauty. Nick, is just a jack of all trades.
And master of all too! I am a tad envious.

I love Brian's face when he knocked the mantel down. It is amazing what you have gotten done. love it

Love the car. I’m sure you are very grateful becoming her owner. What a thoughtful friend. Enjoy it and remember your friend fondly.

Man that's some tough work getting that old boiler out what a massive piece of metal! Got the Riley running that's awesome! Electricity getting hooked up. Nice! Brian and Nick are funny!
Brian‘s jokes no matter good or bad is a necessity! Taking a joyride in the Château vehicle. ❤ thank you for sharing.
Love Brian’s jokes!
Brian! You da Man!! Wow! Two good whacks at that huge mantle piece - well done. 👏👏👏👏👏
Totally agree … swinging the axe on his wood pile prepared him to wack that mantle piece “chop chop”
Well done Brian 👍👍 no messing around …😆
Brian your a beast between chopping wood the other day, to dropping fireplace mantles. Well done. And funny too.
The jokes are an enjoyable part of the daily vlogs. Keeps me smiling.

The funniest thing about Brian's jokes, isn't the jokes, but his explanation afterward. I laugh every time.
