It is almost certain that S.Korean personnel are in Ukraine and listening in on N.Korean radio traffic. South Korea offered Ukraine the services of South Korean army intelligence officers who were fluent in N.Korean dialect and idiom to help in the war. They would also gain valuable insight into the training, tactics and morale of the N.Koreans. So it makes good military sense to have these people on the ground.

One of my mom's 7 brothers fought in Korea as a heavy machinegunner. He destroyed 3 machine gun barrels on Christmas during the first Chinese human wave assault on his position. They were wearing tennis shoes which squeaked in the snow as well as blowing brass bugles 📯 He said their corpses piled up like a rick of firewood over 6 feet high and they crawled over their own dead and just kept coming forward. After the war he had severe PTSD aka 'shell shock' back then. He went to a Dr that wanted to give him electroshock therapy to get him past it. (They still use electroshock therapy. My family doctor wanted to use electroshock 8 times to induce brain spasms to help me with PTSD. They bind you down tightly these days, back in the day, patients commonly broke large bones even their femurs due to the violent movements caused by the brain spasms. I decided against having the 8 induced brain spasms. I was afraid it would make me forget my few good memories or leave me not myself anymore but just a drooling husk.

Raw infantry can be great at holding towns or highly forested/fortified areas. But sending them into an attack over an open fields without Mehanizsed/Air/Artillery support is a damn suicide. Hell even with all abovementioned support one an expect heavy losses, but it would at least be a fight.
How have the Russians not learned that just throwing a bunch of men at the enemy in a rush across open ground DOESNT WORK?
Because Putin just wants the land retaken, no matter whose life is lost as long as it isn't his.
And his commanders don't have anything better in mind (plus their superiors want results).
