Clarification: The kids pictured at the end of the video are not chigo, they are photos from modern times. Having children dressed up that way in Japanese festivals is often done these days for fun and has nothing to do with sex. It's a surviving thread from the old chigo system, which no longer exists.

To everyone who is feeling shame, self hatred & embarrassment about the abuse you experienced, you’re not alone. Most people have experienced the same, hence the massive confusion & depravity in society’s views of sexuality.

Here's something that'll mess with your head though. These kind of things have been happening all through human history. Its super unlikely that theres this continual cabal of people who make up huge esoteric rituals just for the sake of being able to have sex with children. And until very recently, ti wasn't even considered morally objectionable. It was just a thing people did. So why did it keep happening?
The only real explanation is that we accidentally keep setting society up this way. We don't evne try, it just kinda happens. So..why? Is it in our nature? or are we doing something wrong that no one's been able to figure out for hte last 300,000 years? If the latter is true, that means we're actually encouraging it now, and we don't even realize we're doing it.

  • @TahtahmesDiary

As a child sexual abuse victim, this was really hard to sit through. Yeah you can get an element of power, but it's no comparison to the power the abuser has and honestly the idea of generations of boys bearing this until they in turn could become the oppressor is just plain devastating. 💔

@@Moi_81 Sadly, child SA is just as common, among Protestant clergy, and church officials, as it is in the Roman Catholic Church. Although its not talked about as much, in media.. Maybe thats because the Catholic Church is one massive organized church, while the Protestant Denomination Churches, even the larger ones, are generally much smaller in comparison? I come from an area thats full of churches, the majority, Protestant. And there's plenty of atrocious things done to kids, and women. The biggest church sex scandal, that I recall, in my home town, was the preacher, who had a show that was broadcasting all the time, on a local access cable channel, who had forced himself on no less than 7 girls, aged 11-15. And I'd imagine that there were plenty more that didn't publicly come forward. That came out when I was in my mid--teens. A few years before I left the area. I imagine that there's more. Its just not the sort of thing that I ask about, when I call my relatives. And although ot was all over the news, for a while, it wasn't talked about much. Which is odd, in a way. Although, understandable, as its not the most pleasant topic of conversation!

@@shanedoesyoutube8001 @SHANEDOESTH-cam Well, chronologically Medieval Japan is the closest to us, and that's probably the reason why Japan today can be a cesspool of pro-pedophilia and abuse in general and at the same time breeding grounds for people so fed with this that they attack everything sexually related, no matter if it's about fully fledged adults having consensual sex.
Extreme western influence during recent strife times also contributed for an even more confuse influx of morals (or lack thereof). It's like colonized countries that went to be considered "third world", but Japan managed to - at least economically - put its shit together. Not gonna discuss in depth the reasons why, but the main ones are probably because truly colonizing it would be a pain and they had a viable industrial machine going on, which could be readily put to work.
      Key word is: ECONOMICALLY.
But don't take my word for it, ask the japanese. No one that isn't at least receiving minor advantages about how modern Japan works will say it is a nice society, no matter if the person being asked is suffering with it or just personally indifferent.

I can't believe there is a video dedicated to explaining Chigo sex life. This is something we all know about it in the industry but no one will talk about it in public. I want to point out the mythical side of Chigo. The main purpose of Chigo is never about sex, sex is only a bonus point for their master. According to folklore, Chigo was hand-picked by monks because of their psychic ability. Chigo can see ghosts and spirits, some of them can even read people minds by physical touch. Because Chigo can easily get possessed by gods or unfriendly ghosts, it will be better for them to live under the protection of the temple and mook will use them as a tool or a host for gods to perform rituals. During the ritual, Chigo will briefly become the manifesto of a god or a powerful spirit to perform specific rituals, exorcism and fortune-telling are among the most common ones. Back in the old days, the elder in the temple will sexually exploit young Chigo which was explained in the video. Chigo still exists in modern society but they run their own business now. They are usually adults and worked as a performer in local tourism show or an assistant to other psychics. Of course, they don't have sex with their masters anymore. 15:45 To answer your question. When Chigo was possessed, he will lose control of his body, also need to notice if Chigo was constantly possessed by Gods, his life span may significantly reduce, at least that is what I heard.

@@1lobster I wasn't just talking about kids marrying kids; quite often, it is adults marrying kids.
And no, kids marrying kids isn't fine either.
A kid has no real world experience, has never lived on its own and hasn't developed enough of a sense of itself to know what it does and doesn't want in a relationship, which means that it has no business entering into what should be a lifetime commitment.
Not to mention that the whole child marriage thing by the very nature of marriage sexualizes children, which is an entirely other fucked up kettle of fish.

@@blaeckingceorl4161 I cannot speak for this person but in a general sense, power structures in religion(s) tend to command absolute and total obedience, to the point that critical thinking, consent, and basic human status is reduced to nothing.
A lot of ppl who are under those in charge are treated no different than those in captive as slaves/trafficked. Especially in the sense of a s*x slave. They do a lot mental gymnastics (its ok because its for *insert religious belief here*). As opposed to if it were a "normal" or non religious setting, it would have been considered immoral/criminal.

Idk man, how can anyone say "idk if they were being forced..." when they were literally children. They did not know better, they just followed rules, a child can't consent. A different thing is when an older wakashu was purposedly in a relationship with a man. But then again, they've only know one lifestyle for their whole life, so... Sounds like rape and grooming with extra steps.

These are CHILDREN we're talking about, children told by their families to listen to rhe priest. 'Abuse must have happened sometimes' it was abuse every time. They just didn't call it/consider it abuse at that time.
Reality of the situation is that children were forced into this, by their family and the priest, and if they were 'convinced' instead of physically forced? That's still abuse.
We aren't talking about a 20yr old with a 40 year old, this is talking about a 10year old with an adult.
Why would a family send their kid to do this? It was mostly wealthy families, so my guess is they got paid or they got out of sins free, either way they were selling their kids into sex slavery and its disgusting.
People putting material things ahead of other human beings is the root of most of the evil and suffering on this planet.

Jodo Shinshu (New Pureland) in particular believed that the mortal world was corrupt so you might as well party on while you were alive. Possibly the Zen temples (Soto and Rinzai) might have not had as much (definitely rich families sent those temples excess sons) though I am not sure. Zen temples (unlike most of the other sects) were not known for having armies/warrior monks under their control.
