Hey bro- thank you for making these videos. I'm a first year Pipe Trades student here in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Just finishing up our first year, out of two, and learning the VERY basics of welding. I hope to be doing this kind of work some day soon. Really appreciate you sharing your expertise. Keep up the good work!
I think thin wall is the hardest. You nailed it Nice job.
This is great welding bro
Instructors! Skilled men. Good work.
Nice job man, I wish I could do some tig pipes too, but im stuck in a fab shop with only mig welding😂
This place look so nice to work With all this ligth Windows 😎👍
Good welds ,thanks you to share that professionnel work
Love the technique man, it’s crazy how some people lose there minds over color and others say it doesn’t matter and acid wash the heck outa it
Exelente video maestro saludos cordiales desde Puerto Rico
Blue strip and clean wheel will clean that weld much better than pickle paste. We band the heat affected zone off and blue wheel all the way round. Looks much better in my opinion
I really pround of you Calvin. You doing great. Turn.the heat down about 5 or 10. Look at the heat zone.
Not down, will force you to slow down increasing the heat input.
Want to turn the juice up a bit and travel faster to lower heat input 👍👍
That is bad ass boss I l9ve it
El arte de soldar!
Black weld s even show in heat affect zone turn up your gas pressure to 60,psi
Love your videos mate, any chance you can do some 3mm true bore please
Great video. What grade of stainless is the true bore? I get the same oxidation on a job using a 200 series stainless. No matter what cup size or amount of gas it always goes to a darker purple oxide. Gets ground off anyway but it annoys me i cant get those lovely golds sometimes.
Cool
Can you do a video on sanitary welding please
Very nice video. On a 2mm wall ,i usually weld at 58/ 60 amps and keep the wire in the welding pond.
As for the color, it doesn't matter at all
i mean color 96% of the time will be correlated to temperate so why not?
@@oohjah can't disagree with that. What I meant is that you don't HAVE to aim for a golden weld, even a grey-purple colour is ok, as long as the root is good ( of course there are exceptions like in pharmaceutics)
Za mene ezzz varenje na probijanje bez faze na cjevi stijenka 2 mm 61 Amperaza i sta sire
I wouldn't worry about the colour, you're a professional welder, not a weld porn content creator ;)
Getting a greyish purple weld with thin wall pipe, no gap, whilst punching in a good root and cap with one go? Near impossible not to do.
As long as the weld isn't cooked (pure dark-grey going on black) then the stainless still has enough chromium left to keep its ability to reform its oxide layer after passivation, and that's all your need :)
If you want chrome or straw colours, you need a gap for the root, less heat and a second weld pass to make the cap with cleaning between passes, and and small quartered welds to avoid warping... its alot of messing around for no reason just to get an Instagram worthy weld, when yours are already more than acceptable...
I'm a tig welder but getting into more MAG work recently, and I'm super impressed with your other videos on MAG pipe! Keep it up brother :)
Brilliant video learned loads from it when I weld stainless steel find it hard to get any color other than grey or nearly black what am I doing wrong . Once again fantastic video keep them coming 👌
Your heat input is too high
Мастер!
May I ask why you lined up the elbow and pipe weld seam when you fit it up?
If it was a pressure vessel, they would need to be 90° to each other.
But something like this.I tend to find the pipe.Alignment is a lot better seem to seem
Widen your knife edge and you'll be able to penetrate at lower temperatures, and that should keep your beads nice and pink.
I normally go pulse straight with 2-3pps. more amps, lay wire and fast travel speed. But you really need to dial it perfectly to get full penetration and keep fast travel rate. But when you dial it in you can get x3 speed. And as we know it speed=time=money :)
Салют бро! Где сплавление, так не годится😁
Could you do one on 3mm thickness? The difference between 2 and 3mm are huge :S
احسنت
HA HA Bon Boulo😁😁👍👍
Stick your tungsten out further(keeps the weld longer covered with gas) Clean the millscale and you will get nice colour
the weld thats curing behind your cup? sticking your needle out even further would make the angle awkard, his torch was setup properly in my opinion
I have some basic question, why for standard carbon steel pipe you use gap between fitting and pipe for butt weld, and for stainless steel is zero gap? the thickness of the pipe is the reason?
Pipe is thin enough to get penetration with no gap, it will warp alot less, and the welding process is faster
To much heat turn it down and then you will get nice color
How do you make it square if you put no gap ? Fitting and cut are never perfect
The saw cutting straight is the most important thing but u cant really check it one of the biggest problems with this stuff, zero tolerance
shouldn’t it be purged for you to place tacks? won’t they sugar a *little* ? genuinely curious
also im definitely interested in seeing a more laywire approach to tig in another video 👍
If you go quick you are able to join the pipes before the inside sugars up. Hot n quick, for example when doing 1.6mm sanitary I use 100 amps, place the cup on the surface and lean back 45-60 degrees and give the trigger a quick hit. Strong tack with zero peneration and sugaring on the inside. If you hold a piece of filler wire on the seam and aim the tungsten 2mm or so up from the end of the filler and zap, it will have a similar effect. Different thicknesses need different averages.
Flash tacks, they are melted on the surface only, and will be remelted when welding over them
Detail rewiew od the machine
Walk the cup don't stop
say's who?
40 Years of welding
How much Amp? Thank you
As far as I can see, 84 amp. Personally I would run it a bit higher and then weld faster.
@@ThomaS93Games its 82 amps and I think hes already running a few amps too hot, 90 would fry it imo.
to high temperature
ت❤
Not really ideal to put pickling paste on hot welds. It lets off nasty stuff. Hope you had you adflo on.
Optrel mask change it
dont be silly, optrel masks are decent but speedglas is king, even though the one he uses inst meant for tig.
Color in stainless weld dictate proper amps volts travel speed and quality of weld ,black means you burned up the nickel content
cheater😊👍
