Tyler's assault scene took me by surprise. I was so shocked, I had to put my phone down and just stare at my wall for at least a good 5 minutes. I was truly disturbed.
Tyler's scene was hard to watch. He wanted to have a good start at school. THEN monty just TOTALLY DESTROYED THAT HOPE. It's even hard for me to type this comment.

Tyler's scene was my least favorite...it was so good to see him having a positive attitude, with his short-cropped hair and the way he looked like he was glad to be back at school. Montgomery is a monster.

I've seen people speak of a mop and some other things, but I did not realize what had actually happened - I thought it was just shoving through multiple hard objects and stuffing his face in the toilet. My comment above sounds shallow and uneducated now that I read it again - I called the scene my 'least favorite' for goodness sake. Thank you for clarifying this - I admittedly shut my eyes for a lot of this scene when I viewed it in real time, so thank you for this reply that made me take another look at what really happened, at the more than appalling, ridiculously injudicious act that befell Tyler at the hands of Montgomery De La Cruz. Now I know the proper amount of hatred he deserves and shall furthermore engender in me, so thank you for broadening my horizons and clarifying my point of view.

As somebody who just graduated high school you guys are going to meet people who may or may not stick with you throughout High School but I strongly suggest finding people who have similar interests to you I'm sticking with them because they could become your greatest friend
I've been switching highschools and most things I face is bullying. Violence. Rumours and just toxic energy. Stay in one highschool and make good friends. I dropped out seven weeks from now because I got into a fight with a bully and he's friend held me. I don't know about anyone else, but these were the saddest moments in Season 2 for me: 1. When "The Night We Met Played" 2. When Justin was adopted 3. When Clay talked at Hannah's service 4. The Tyler bathroom scene

Season 3 isn't about Hannah for a good reason. Her story is over, she was laid to rest. Season 3 serves as an aftermath of her story. How the world can move forward after she left it. Season 3 has memories of her, just like in the real world. Bryce is a continuation of her story though, showing how the world turned on him after what he did. We see his guilt, we see his remorse after being the reason Hannah is gone, due to his actions. Hannah is still there, but as Clay said; "I'm letting you go Hannah.
This series did a great job of making me like characters that I loathed or was indifferent towards last season. From Courtney and Mr. Porter stepping up to do the right thing during their testimonies, to Justin bonding with Clay and becoming a part of his family, and Zach revealing to have had a secret past with Hannah and distancing himself from his meathead friends. I adored the amount of character growth and developed that was showcased this time round!
Caitriona Quigley But how could Clay or anyone forgive Justin like that? He was the guy that spread that inappropriate picture and false rumors about Hannah, the first step to her suicide. I’ve just started Season 1, but I’m confused as to how and why someone like him can be forgiven
Hasan Ahmed True, he was a jerk, but you could tell early on that he wasn't entirely happy that Bryce circulated Hannah's upskirt picture around the whole school, as he looks ashamed when he sees her reaction to it. Once he's away from Bryce's toxic influence, he's shown to be doing a whole lot better. Plus, Jessica's still a long way from completely forgiving him by season's end.
Caitriona Quigley courtney did redeem herself. But her entire storyline was a mess from the very beginning. Scared to come out to 2 gay dads? Really? And if she didn't want to come out, she wouldn't have to. All she would have to say is that she's straight but Hannah was an "exception". Nobody really cares in 2018 U.S.. plenty of kids openly gay in high school today. It's no big deal. Completely unrealistic and idiotic script writing in many of these episodes
dakota kitten I agree that there were plenty of holes in that plot, and that it didn't make a whole lot of sense, except to stir up some more drama. But it's also entirely plausible that she worried about experiencing associated homophobia due to her dads, as well as school bullying and a damaged reputation. But as her episode showed, her fears were unfounded.
Monty is just as psychotic as Bryce . I can’t remember which episode it was in season 2 but character said that Monty hangs around Bryce because If Bryce weren’t around he’d be lost or something .
Definitely not an excuse for his actions, but most people who are like Monty are also troubled too for a reason and tend to take or anger out on other people they see as weaker. Because Monty gets abused by his dad and even had his arm broken too it makes me him feel weak but at school he has all this power and makes him into a very messed up person
There is definitely no excuse for what he did but growing up in such a violent environment he was definitely fucked up and emotional scarred leading him to lean on an emotionally manipulative friend like bryce, who was also a very bad influence on him
I love this show, and I don't agree with them taking out hannahs suicide clip... there is nothing wrong with this. Because well Tylers rape was a lot worse and more graphic......

All caused by Montgomery. He trashed Mrs. Bakers shop. Broke Mr Potter's Windshield. Sent Alex a Gun implying him to kill himself. Attemted Man slaughter by trying to run over Clay. Destroyed Tony's Car completely. And beat the stew out of Tyler and sexually assaulted him with a Broom and so much more. 🗣HE MUST PAY!!!. Forget about Bryce, i want them to get revenge on Montgomery. I want a season 3 just for that reason alone.
Tyler scene was horrible to watch. I cant believe they even put that on the show. It was intense and sick. And even more sad because he was apologetic and positive and wanting a fresh start . :(

He is alone, isolated, doesn’t fit in, people are constantly disrespectful towards him, calling him names, brushing him off, putting their hands on him whenever they want etc... EXACTLY! My heart started beating soooo fast, my body got hot, I got angry and surprised and I wanted to puke... It's really sickening and honestly the worst scene... Monty is 100% worser than Bryce. At least bryce only raped them.... he didn't smash them against the wall, drown them and then stick a stick up their butt until they bleed and probably had internal damage. Bryce did a horrible monter thing but at least he didn't use a broom at least he kept it with only his penis and hands and didn't drown them after giving them a concussion. Bryce looks like a small monster with next to the demonic monty who is just pure evil....He saw Hannah get raped as well as other girls and just laughed and enjoyed it, he defended the rapist and then went and knocked tyler against the glass, sink twice and when he clearly had a concussion due to him just starring at the air without moving he went and drowned him and then raped him and probably ruined his organs inside by sticking it up sooo deep.... I want to cry just thinking about it and also want to go and kill him!@

For me, the saddest part isn’t here. Is the part where Alex is at his bday party and he goes “I’m fucking broken, that’s just how it’s gonna be so why don’t you just live w it”🥺 And then he said he wished the fake gun was real and shot it at his head. That partt has me bawling

This season was beyond emotional, and the scene where Clay heard the song that he had danced to with Hannah, and all of them surrounding him, was one of the most beautiful and saddest scene for me. I also can't begin to explain how awful and harrowing the bathroom scene with Tyler was. that was pure horror. Other largely emotional moments include Clay outside Bryce's house and Alex's birthday party. God, this show made me a huge wreck.
also, i would possible add Tyler's party and the bit he started playing the gun game Clay outside Bryce's house Tony finding his car broken And the scene where Hannah's parents are at her grave to the list, cause damn, those scenes fcked me up
If they do make a 3rd season I hope its the last one and there is a sense of happiness and resolution for the characters at the end of it all. Gosh this show is depressing.

People complain about this show being graphic and triggering, and yes that’s true but it shows real life issues, and sheds light on controversial topics which are otherwise not spoken of. The fact it’s so graphic makes it all the more real. Those who are vulnerable should not be watching it, at least not unsupervised, but either way necessary warnings have been placed

All of these scenes were tough. But Tyler's was stomache-churning. It's terrifying to think this could happen in our schools. I hope Justin will be okay in the next season. I am very worried about his character, and Clay's, after seeing his abusive step-father watching them talk.

A scene that made me very angry was when Mr.Porter was about to leave and he gave the principal a handful of files about kids that are in danger (or mostlikely to commit suicide than the other students) and the principal just threw the files at the table like it wasn't important for him Sorry if my english is very bad im from germany 🙂

I was not fully prepared for that Tyler scene when I first saw it. When Monty was beating him up, I was already feeling sad because Tyler was on his way to being a better person. But when he grabbed that mop 😱... I literally felt sick after watching that.
I was sick to my stomach. I couldn’t watch the show for a year. Once I saw Tylers scene I was crying my eyes out. I couldn’t sleep all night. I kept thinking about it non stop. This was the worst scene ever.

cheristina why does one have to be a female to feel it worse? Men get raped too. I understand that rape victims are more commonly female, but the trauma from such an event remains exactly the same, no matter what your gender is.
I'm not saying women feel it worse or anything. It just angers me that several women are raped in the series (graphic pictures too) and no one bats an eye, but a guy is raped and people want the series to be taken off netflix. I agree that Tyler's scene was a very violent one, and I found it disturbing too. But someone pushing a dick inside your vagina when you're not physically ready for it also feels like a knife going in there. Hurts a lot.

I has happened, it's common in prisons. I'm sure it has happened elsewhere too. You dont do that to someone. There was a kid in a nearby town to me who basically had his testicles crushed and skull fractured by a group of jock types. The kid opted not for the suicidal insanity of shooting up the whole school but rather to covertly enact a painful revenge. He did so by going to a party some of the jocks went to frequently in the woods near old strip mines. He hid in the shadows watching the guys get drunk and more stoned around the campfire. Under the cover of all the music and carrying on he waited for the guy he was after to stray away from the crowd. Eventually the opportunity came when the jock dude got on a four wheeler to pick some people up at the base of the mountain. Once the guy passed where he was hiding he doused the guy in gasoline. Because it was dark the jock did not immediately realize what was going on and stopped the four wheeler to investigate. He then threw more gas on the guy and then lit him on fire. He lived but got some nasty burns. It was later found that several of the tents were doused in gas too. This dude planned it well and got away with it. The point is... be fuckin careful who you piss off. He literally planned his revenge for weeks.
You'd be blown away how many places around the world shit like this has taken place in, even in church locker rooms and bathrooms of all places. There's a Christian/Catholic school somewhere in Detroit Michigan that's been facing multiple lawsuits because of hundreds of incidents exactly like this.
Sadly It happend . There was a kid who got raped by his class mates they went after him inside of the school bathroom they used olive tree branch and let the kid in a very bad situation . And there is a lot more stories and it is so shameful that thouse rapists can mostly get away with it due to the injustice legal system of many countries.

Sad moments for me. 1. All the female cast retelling their story of sexual assault. 2. The school counselor telling Hannah's mom that his sorry for letting her daughter die. 3. The Batroom scene. It had blood on it.

Totally in agreement! As shown in the Brock Turner case, the rich, white, male rapist typically gets acquitted scott-free with only a slap on the wrist. It's sadly realistic and tear-jerking.
When I read the book I hated Bryce and in the first season even more I thought he was the worst person in the world. And somehow I found out that the player who played him was the opposite of him. Then I saw the second season. He is a terrible figure but Montgomery, in my opinion, is the most horrible character in the world. Even Bryce had character and depth, and he had done terrible things and behavior, and the act for Tyler made him the worst person on television. The work of actors was certainly hard but really very good in every way.
The scene with tyler had me crying so hard and feeling sick I had to pause and go for a walk. He is an amazing actor, like he really touches your heart. And I wanted to hug him so bad.. also the scene when he confesses to Clay got me crying again.

Yeah unfortunately the term "trigger" started out as psychologists using it to reference something that can set off someone's PTSD or cause a bad reaction to a reminder of trauma. Tyler is the show's "Hannah" now. Notice how it was Clay who stopped him from shooting up the school. He couldn't stop Hannah from ending her life, but he stopped Tyler from making a giant mistake. Now Clay is going to try and help Tyler come back from the darkness he feels like he's in.

Kam A Unless I'm wrong there's only a few people who know that Tyler was going to shoot up the school. Isn't it possible that clay could claim that the call to the police was a prank call and that there was no shooter, whoever called just wanted to ruin the dance. Of course it would be more believable if someone owned up to making the call, therefore meaning the police wouldn't have to do a precautionary search of the school (and therefore wouldn't find the gun, assuming clay throws it in the bushes or something). But someone taking the fall for making a false police report is miles better than Tyler being killed.
This season had a lot of heartbreaking moments in it tbh. If I may add: - Alex's breakdown at the arcade. - Clay and Justin's moment outside Bryce's house. - Tony and Caleb's confrontation after Tony sees his wrecked car. - Zach confessing to his mom he felt the way Hannah felt after his dad died, and his subsequent outburst in the locker room. - Chloe's realization about Bryce. Honestly, these were moments I felt added depth to a lot of characters, and just hurt a lot to watch.

More than anything for season 3, I want Tyler to get justice, and I want him to be okay :( I really want the other characters to support him and there to be a dialogue on "how to support someone dealing with sexual assault"

i got sad when monty started beating up tyler, i was like "damn he's trying to be nice and this is what he gets" but then when i realized what monty was doing with the mop i was just shocked. i had to pause it and just process what happened.
Every single time I hear that song in my head, (which is at least 5 times a day) I see Clay, and I start weeping like crazy. I just want to hold him and comfort him, and say it's ok...I'm here for you...
Two that weren't mentioned: Alex's breakdown at the arcade had me in tears. Also, I got choked up during Zach's conversation with his mom and then when he had a breakdown in the locker room and started beating the lockers with the baseball bat. It was a great season, and I honestly enjoyed this season more than the first.
My 3 most saddest/heartbreaking moments: #3: Tyler's rape :'( #2: Clay's speech at Hannah's service + when Hannah left... #1: The song Clay and Hannah danced to. That just broke my heart :'(

Season 3 isn't about Hannah for a good reason. Her story is over, she was laid to rest. Season 3 serves as an aftermath of her story. How the world can move forward after she left it. Season 3 has memories of her, just like in the real world. Bryce is a continuation of her story though, showing how the world turned on him after what he did. We see his guilt, we see his remorse after being the reason Hannah is gone, due to his actions. Hannah is still there, but as Clay said; "I'm letting you go Hannah.

This series did a great job of making me like characters that I loathed or was indifferent towards last season. From Courtney and Mr. Porter stepping up to do the right thing during their testimonies, to Justin bonding with Clay and becoming a part of his family, and Zach revealing to have had a secret past with Hannah and distancing himself from his meathead friends. I adored the amount of character growth and developed that was showcased this time round!

Hasan Ahmed True, he was a jerk, but you could tell early on that he wasn't entirely happy that Bryce circulated Hannah's upskirt picture around the whole school, as he looks ashamed when he sees her reaction to it. Once he's away from Bryce's toxic influence, he's shown to be doing a whole lot better. Plus, Jessica's still a long way from completely forgiving him by season's end.

Caitriona Quigley courtney did redeem herself. But her entire storyline was a mess from the very beginning. Scared to come out to 2 gay dads? Really? And if she didn't want to come out, she wouldn't have to. All she would have to say is that she's straight but Hannah was an "exception". Nobody really cares in 2018 U.S.. plenty of kids openly gay in high school today. It's no big deal. Completely unrealistic and idiotic script writing in many of these episodes

But it's also entirely plausible that she worried about experiencing associated homophobia due to her dads, as well as school bullying and a damaged reputation. But as her episode showed, her fears were unfounded.
Monty is just as psychotic as Bryce . I can’t remember which episode it was in season 2 but character said that Monty hangs around Bryce because If Bryce weren’t around he’d be lost or something .

EXACTLY! My heart started beating soooo fast, my body got hot, I got angry and surprised and I wanted to puke... It's really sickening and honestly the worst scene... Monty is 100% worser than Bryce. At least bryce only raped them.... he didn't smash them against the wall, drown them and then stick a stick up their butt until they bleed and probably had internal damage. Bryce did a horrible monter thing but at least he didn't use a broom at least he kept it with only his penis and hands and didn't drown them after giving them a concussion.

This season was beyond emotional, and the scene where Clay heard the song that he had danced to with Hannah, and all of them surrounding him, was one of the most beautiful and saddest scene for me. I also can't begin to explain how awful and harrowing the bathroom scene with Tyler was. that was pure horror.
Other largely emotional moments include Clay outside Bryce's house and Alex's birthday party.

People complain about this show being graphic and triggering, and yes that’s true but it shows real life issues, and sheds light on controversial topics which are otherwise not spoken of. The fact it’s so graphic makes it all the more real. Those who are vulnerable should not be watching it, at least not unsupervised, but either way necessary warnings have been placed

I agree that Tyler's scene was a very violent one, and I found it disturbing too. I has happened, it's common in prisons. I'm sure it has happened elsewhere too. You dont do that to someone. There was a kid in a nearby town to me who basically had his testicles crushed and skull fractured by a group of jock types. The kid opted not for the suicidal insanity of shooting up the whole school but rather to covertly enact a painful revenge. He did so by going to a party some of the jocks went to frequently in the woods near old strip mines. He hid in the shadows watching the guys get drunk and more stoned around the campfire. Under the cover of all the music and carrying on he waited for the guy he was after to stray away from the crowd. Eventually the opportunity came when the jock dude got on a four wheeler to pick some people up at the base of the mountain. Once the guy passed where he was hiding he doused the guy in gasoline. Because it was dark the jock did not immediately realize what was going on and stopped the four wheeler to investigate. He then threw more gas on the guy and then lit him on fire. He lived but got some nasty burns. It was later found that several of the tents were doused in gas too. This dude planned it well and got away with it. The point is... be fuckin careful who you piss off. He literally planned his revenge for weeks.
You'd be blown away how many places around the world shit like this has taken place in, even in church locker rooms and bathrooms of all places. There's a Christian/Catholic school somewhere in Detroit Michigan that's been facing multiple lawsuits because of hundreds of incidents exactly like this.

Sadly It happend . There was a kid who got raped by his class mates they went after him inside of the school bathroom they used olive tree branch and let the kid in a very bad situation . And there is a lot more stories and it is so shameful that thouse rapists can mostly get away with it due to the injustice legal system of many countries.

When I read the book I hated Bryce and in the first season even more I thought he was the worst person in the world. And somehow I found out that the player who played him was the opposite of him. Then I saw the second season. He is a terrible figure but Montgomery, in my opinion, is the most horrible character in the world. Even Bryce had character and depth, and he had done terrible things and behavior, and the act for Tyler made him the worst person on television. The work of actors was certainly hard but really very good in every way.
Byce and Monty are both messed up in the head. They're both narcissistic psychopaths.

Tyler is the show's "Hannah" now. Notice how it was Clay who stopped him from shooting up the school. He couldn't stop Hannah from ending her life, but he stopped Tyler from making a giant mistake. Now Clay is going to try and help Tyler come back from the darkness he feels like he's in.

Isn't it possible that clay could claim that the call to the police was a prank call and that there was no shooter, whoever called just wanted to ruin the dance. Of course it would be more believable if someone owned up to making the call, therefore meaning the police wouldn't have to do a precautionary search of the school (and therefore wouldn't find the gun, assuming clay throws it in the bushes or something). But someone taking the fall for making a false police report is miles better than Tyler being killed.

This season had a lot of heartbreaking moments in it tbh. If I may add:
- Alex's breakdown at the arcade.
- Clay and Justin's moment outside Bryce's house.
- Tony and Caleb's confrontation after Tony sees his wrecked car.
- Zach confessing to his mom he felt the way Hannah felt after his dad died, and his subsequent outburst in the locker room.
- Chloe's realization about Bryce.
Honestly, these were moments I felt added depth to a lot of characters, and just hurt a lot to watch.
