Depends where you live - if you live in USA or Canada the umarex is the only choice. Anywhere else and you could get the Baikal co2 Makarov, model MP-654K. The difference is considerable - with the Baikal you are getting a real firear that has been re-engineered into a co2 bb gun (cant be conveerted back).
@TENSONcaliber177 - Hello - good question - you can leave the gas capsule in the gun for short periods - a few days at most - the problem is that the seals absorb CO2 gas and swell up a little - they return to normal after a few hours, but you might have problems with the seals if you keep the gun with gas pressure in it for weeks at a time. - hope that helps - I always keep my guns empty of gas if I am not using them.
You'll probably discover that RWS match grade BB's will shoot a lot tighter groups.Crosman BB's shoot badly in my guns. Many of them are pitted or not round. Some guns prefer Daisy BB's and shoot the best with them.Experiment a little..It will shoot better than that.
@scarface4724 sorry - the gun is not blowback so the slide doesnt move when its fired and certainly doesnt lock back after last shot. The slide lock button is fake - its moulded into the body.
@longlivestalin1 Yes, you are right. Because of the VCR act, you have them send the gun to your nearest registered firearms dealer. This usually costs £20. your nearest dealers are: Orchard in Liskeard, English country Pursuits Tavistock and The Jewellers Gunshop in liskeard. Just Google "Registered firearms dealers plymouth"
@andy0705b Thanks for this info - You are referring to the Baikal 645K - not this umarex version of course. if that is the case I can understand why some countries ban their import. Have you ever seen one that has been converted back? and to what caliber? I would be interested to see how it was done, and also whether the person firing it still had any fingers left afterwards.
nice review, I have always liked Russian handguns. I just picked mine up for $90 Canadian. I could not own a real one so i think this is a nice substitute.
@crashdaparty Well I have to admit you are right about the gun - one tries ones best but if you start with crap material........ Thanks for the stars btw
@howardmaryon thanks for getting back, i thiught you couldnt order co2 pistol on the web because its illegal? i live in plymouth (uk) by the way. if i go onto russmilitary would they deliver the gun?
@longlivestalin1 You can buy them at most Umarex stockists - what part of the country do you live? Mind you - you would be better off buying the Genuine Article - that is the real Makarov that is now imported by Armex and should be available in quantity soon. In the meantime look up Russmilitary on the web - they have Makarov bb guns.
@MrRuneRebel Thanks Rune - hope you enjoy the pistol as much as I do.

@TENSONcaliber177 Hi - you dont need the grip to be on there, although it might be a bit uncomfortable without the grip.....
