I admit it, I've been very bad. Haven't replaced the filter, haven't descaled in years. That's what brings me here today. But no coffee comes out. (Rolls up sleeves) Thanks for posting this, it's going to be a big help.
Rusted grinding stones ( blades) I already saw many times . Mainly on Krups or Delonghi aswell. I think there are three posibilities . 1) wrong coffee beans which contains a lot of water and oil 2) cleaning of container during maitenance with water 3) big humidity during stocking for example garage or somethink like that
This is super useful but there’s a crucial part missing if you’re impatient like me! At 10:00 the grinder is removed and a hoover nozzle stuck straight into it. Then during reassambly at 13:33 we’re suddenly told about a ball bearing in the grinder that we have to be “careful not to lose”. A BIT LATE NOW! Does anyone know the size of ball bearing I need to order? I’ve searched through the hoover bag and everywhere else for it but no luck. (The outside grinder wheel no longer clicks as you turn it, and the machine just whirrs instead of grinding, so I assume the ball is really important. Sigh.) Thanks
This ball is not important for the proper operation of the grinder. It only clicks when the ring, which regulates the gap between the grindstones, is turned. You can take a soldering iron and make a small ball of solder. I also want to point out that this ring does not need to be removed at all. To remove the top grinder, you have to turn this ring counterclockwise until it stops. Then the holder of the upper grinder will disengage. It is not necessary to remove the ring. After replacing the bottom and top grinder, it goes back down again. Look at the factory markings with a marker pen. There are three: (1) on the holder of the upper grinder, (2) between the holder and the ring, and (3) on the ring. Align the marks of the upper grinder holder (1) and mark (2). Then turn the ring clockwise to align all the marks in one row.
Also , can you explain to me how you got the piece under the tank off .. i see you put it back with half a turn after you repalced hose but i can't figure out where the latch is ( if any ) ..thanks again
@@yt.myworks Thank you so much for replying. I did watch that video again but unfortunately that machine has a different design than the machine on this video ( ENA a1 or Micro 1) The "hat" is molded in frame ( not removeable like the link). In the video above around 12:12 you changd the hose and put back the part underneath the tank but didnt show how you removed it. I cant seem to find a latch / clip that is holding it. I assume hat if I remove that piece the gasket would come out as well form the bottom. In the end I don't need to remove the bottom piece shown in this video ( although i would like to know for future) but I am thinking that is the way to change orange gasket. Any help would be appreciated. I am ready to put the whole machine back and this little gasket and taking apart the spout is holding me back. I see in the video how you take apart the spout but i tried multiple times and it just doesn't turn. I will be soaking in a solution today and see if that frees it. Thanks again
I got it ..behind it is the latch ..part of the plastic that has hose on it ..have to reach behind pull down slightly and then turn clockwise 1/4 turn and pull down
Hello, you have to make sure that the brew group is assembled correctly and can be moved easily. Before installation, the brew group must be placed in the home position. Check everything again!
@@yt.myworksthanks for the prompt response! I figured out the problem was simply the small plastic piece that clicks the button once the lid is back on the bean hopper! I do have one difference since reassembly… the grind is more coarse, nowhere near as fine as it was. The grinder is in the same position, and I’ve even tried rotating the gear all the way clockwise. I tried adjusting the gear a bit too and can’t seem to get a fine grind anymore. Any idea? Couldn’t find any info in the manual. Thanks again - you’re a godsend on this!
When tightening the long screw, it is important that the plastic piece is placed correctly. These parts have tongue and groove that have to fit together.
Hi, great video. Thanks for sharing. I m still struggling to remove the left panel. Do you have a picture of the side panel from the inside so I understand where I m wrong. I have a long steel ruler that works well but although the top right part is lifted it seems something else is preventing me from sliding the panel to the back. Thanks again
I know sometimes it's difficult to remove the side panel. I have to get angry sometimes too. Unfortunately I don't have this model with me. There is a barb at the top that needs to be lifted slightly. At the same time, the side part should be pulled backwards.

Tes vidéos m'ont bien aidé , merci 👌. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I think your grinding burrs got rusted because you use oily coffee beans.try a medium roast of a bit darker if you like but with no oils. The get rancid and stick to metal and rust it. Maybe an other reason could be a faulty design on the machine that lets water vapor after the coffee is extracted to accumulate on the grinder cones. I have a Saeco and you see condensation form on the coffee shoot after making a coffee . You did an amazing job cleaning and restoring this machine!! Congratulations to you!! Great video
There is another video using a rectangle metal block and tap the side panel with a mallet to remove it. After opening the panel, use flat head screw driver to break the 2 tabs at 2 corners (top and bottom corners on each panel closer to front, total 4 tabs) that hold the panels in place. After that it would be much easier to slide the panel open without much effort.
Excellent video. I really like my Jura A1 (black) and try to clean it as well as I possibly can. I haven't taken it apart (yet) though and this video will one day be really handy. Thanks again.
Old video but saw you still responded to some comments. My machine completed one successful cycle and then the motor gets stuck engaging up or down. I didn’t touch any of the electronics outside of the start button. It feels like the motor isn’t getting the signal to disengage though.
I assume that you have disassembled, cleaned, and reassembled the brew group. Before inserting the brew group, please check by hand to ensure that all parts move smoothly. Nothing should stick or catch. Then, the brew group must be set to the home position, which is the position in which the brew group is ready to receive ground coffee.
In essence, they are very similar fully automatic coffee machines, but the Jura A1 still has a "Pulse Extraction Process" (P.E.P.®) that makes the coffee even tastier
Beautiful video! I Followed most steps regarding cleaning on the inside. I removed the side panels and the top panel. I also took out the middle (that you got out at 4:05 ). After putting everything back together the machine remains in (what i believe is) the warming-up mode. The three sizes of coffee cups and two beans lights keep on blinking. Have you encountered this problem by any chance and/or do you know how to solve it?
@@yt.myworks I ended up fixing the mistake. I misplaced the switch that checks whether the lid is placed on top of the coffee beans. Thanks for the reply!
@@Ward2011 I'm getting that same error, which led me to this video! I started to take the machine apart yesterday, do you happen to have a picture of the switch you are referring to?
@@hLip-km6wf I do not have a picture at the moment but I can try to explain it. The transparent plastic lid of the coffee beans consists of a rectangular lid and a pin-like structure at a right angle at one of the sides which goes into the Jura A1. That pin pushes down a lever that on its turn pushes down a switch. I misplaced the lever initially and placing it correctly fixed the error. Hope this helps, otherwise I maybe have some time in the near future to make a photo for you.
@Ward Schaefers I grabbed some pictures while it’s still apart but I guess I can’t add them here. Not sure if something is supposed to be somewhere that is missing or broken? It doesn’t look like that tab is hitting or pushing on anything when it’s set in properly and all together to trigger it is in place. Sounds like maybe I’m missing a switch or pin of some kind?
Your maintenance process was very detailed, and I watched the entire 26-minute video. I noticed that you did replace the silicone tube in one part of the video. However, during the Brew group re-assembly section, I observed that you did not replace the silicone hose. Could you please explain the reason behind this decision?
Hello, the hose at the brewing group is exposed to high temperatures, so I recommend using the original hose with special properties. You can clean it or replace it with a new original from Jura.
I just cant stop watching your amazing works, and attention to details, thank you so much. can you please advise on getting used machine with open brewing unite system. you once advised to get Philips Saeco is this still the case please? thank you

Hello, i have the ena 9 micro, can you tell me why the grinder works only 3.5 seconds, the puks are not fully (because of small grinded coffe amount), and the taste is weak? Thank you
I think that the grindstones are no longer sharp enough and should be replaced. There are special grinding stones for the Jura ena micro 5, such as these here: www.juraprofi.de/Jura-Ersatzteile/Mahlwerk/Reparaturset-fuer-Jura-Mahlwerk-HS-Plus-und-Aroma-G3::19581.html

Hello, What size hoses do i need to replace the hose that goes from the brewing unit and front panel coffee and milk + coffee? I have E8 (EB). I can't find the size
Hello, I recommend cleaning these hoses with a narrow brush instead of replacing them. The water doesn’t sit here permanently, as it does in hoses that lead from the water tank, so the lines don’t go bad.
I have a ENA micro 1. Do you know if the cones are the same? Were can I purchase some new cones? When replacing, do you “reset” the consistency of grind (on top of the machine)? Thx, amazing job!
The new cones are different but also very good. You must purchase cones for the Aroma+ grinder, other models will not fit. You can keep the old settings.
Did you disassemble the brew group? If so, then you need to make sure it's reassembled correctly. Before installing, check manually whether everything can be moved easily and then bring it into the basic position.

Hello, I set the grinder back two clicks (coarser) according to the manufacturer's recommendation. The reason for this is the better geometry and sharpness of the new grinding stones.
I have a question I hope you can help with. On the A1 and also the ENA micro there is a plastic actuator on top of the machine (under the cover) that provides a mechanical link between the bean container lid and the microswitch that detects the presence of the lid. Hi just a quick question. I just refurbished an ENA Micro 1 and I did not see a pin valve. Did I miss it or is there not one in that machine? I don't believe I saw one in your video for the A1 either.
@Roi Berkovich I buy it on ebay or amazon, but be careful the o-rings for Jura A1 are smaller than for other models. Look for a food grade grease for example suitable for the kitchen machines.

Hello, I removed both side panels from the machine but the right side has a secondary side panel that I can't figure out how to remove. Do you have any tips?
Its an excellent video about cleaning.....but I don't think you figured out why the machine has this fault....so the problem isn't solved, and will keep happening in the future. I have been testing mine over a few months and my hypothesis is that the grinder is accepting too many beans and making the pucks too big. The pump cannot push water through these large pucks and a breaker is engaged. Before doing all this disassembly, try starting from an empty hopper and adding only one level jura scoop of beans (limiting the amount it would normally accept). Many people are describing this fault as 'clogged', but it is not clogged at all....it is just underpowered by design?
Hi! For me, the beans get grinded but the coffee doesn't come out. I've tried descaling but didn't work. I think the grinded beans are stuck since no new beans get grinded or old beans come out. Do you know what could be causing this and how to fix it? Thanks!
Hello, you wrote that no coffee comes out, does clear water come out or nothing at all? Can you see the ground, dry coffee in the grounds container? And one last question; did you disassemble the grinder and reassemble it beforehand?
@ I don’t see any dry coffee grounds. Water comes out when I run descaling cycle but no water when I just extract coffee. I haven’t disassembled yet. Do you think it’ll be necessary to? Thank you for your response!
Hi! Thanks a lot for your video, it is very clear and helpful ! This machine is sooo technical, I couldn’t expect a better explanation 😅 . I do face an issue after having cleaned my machine, it makes a lot of noise so I think I have made a mistake somewhere … but cant find the origin… is there any way to contact you and share a video of my problem to get your advice ? Thank you !
I think distilled water is good for the machine but less for your health. You can use normal tap water, the only important thing is that you decalcify the coffee machine or change the water filter when asked.
What was the total time involved? How many of these machines have you refurbished? Did you order replacement parts from Jura? Jura sure doesn’t make it easy to work on.
So far I have only refurbished a Jura 1A, the one in this video ;-) However, the Jura coffee machines are very similar on the inside. I usually need two days for an overhaul.
Hi, I have an interesting problem, I repaired a Jura Micro Ena 1, it had a rusty grinder like yours, when I reassembled it, now the grinder only runs for 2.5seconds instead of the 6-8seconds it should.. I have tested everything I possibly can, and scoured the internet but no luck. Made sure the grinder was running in the right direction and same thing happens with or without beans.. any ideas I can try?
Hello, the grinding time of the Aroma+ grinder is between 2.7s and 4.4s seconds. Grinding for two cups takes about 4.4 seconds. How long has the grinding been before?
i have a similar problem. It used to grind for 5-8 seconds... now it's 2 seconds. The coffee is undrinkable. It's basically water with a hint of coffee. Let me know if you figure out how to fix this.
@@yt.myworks Thanks for the reply, when I got it was already broken, but I found a youtube video of the same machine, and the same settings, it ground the coffee for 6seconds.. I cant imagine what the problem is, there is no error indication on the machine, same as the guy below, the coffee that comes out is undrinkable because there simply isn't enough coffee in the brew group. I know Saecos have an encoder on the grinder, but this Jura doesn't. I wish there was some sort of diagnostic menu like other machines, where everything could be tested. Another thing is that every grind is exactly 2.5 seconds, changing the cup size or coffee strength doesn't change the time..
@@AlexB-yx5no One more question, when changing the grinder which model did you buy? My Jura Micro 90 keeps repeating "rinsing" and "press rotary" after starting. Can't find anything on the internet about how to fix. Any help? I find water in the tray after each rinse and the brew group is moving correctly.
Hello, I recommend taking a closer look at the flow meter (th-cam.com/video/ZshqFMxdvCk/w-d-xo.html), perhaps it is dirty inside and therefore not rotating properly. This means the machine cannot detect whether the water is flowing properly.
@@yt.myworks I found the cause. The flow meter is working well, so is the pump. It somehow ran one cycle of descaling and milk cleaning. It worked okay, but water flow was choppy. I tried to run it to rinse whil having the brew group taken out. There is only little bit of water flowing to the brew group. It makes me think that the membrane regulator could be a problem, or the outlet valve could be at fault. I've ordered spares for those two, and will replace them in a few days. Am I thinking right? Should I also already replace the water pump?
You can get the spare parts (millstones) for the Jura coffee machines on ebay. But beware! There are different variants of the grinder please always compare with your Jura model before you buy.
@myworks Thanks for the reply. I totally agree that yhe brew group is trying to find the home position but I have disassembled and reassembled the brew group following the video instructions, and I can't find anything wrong. Is there some kind of sensor or magnet, because as far as I can see, there's nothing electrical that can give a "Home" signal for the brew group. Thanks Jeff
@@jeffbonsall422 It only means that the brew group is not assembled correctly or screwed to the machine incorrectly. If the gears don't fit together properly then the machine will make loud noises. Before installing it, you should check by hand whether the brewing group can be moved easily and set it to the basic position.
@myworks Thanks again for taking the time to reply to my problem. I can't tell you how much I appreciate your help. I'm happy to donate to your PayPal account. I will give you more detail around the issue. I've removed the brew group and stripped it down and cleaned it. Everything turns and moves freely. The issue of the drive gear driving constantly was still there. I wound the brew group assembly to the bottom. The drive gear drove the brew group back to its home position perfectly, but it doesn't stop driving. I'd like to know what gives the signal that it's in its home position. All components are intact and in place. Your reassemble video perfectly details all the components to replace. Is there a datum point on the motor? I can't see anything on the brew group that would give a home position signal. Is there a reset on the machine. As soon as I press the power button, the brew group drives. I would hope there's a function where I can do a master reset. Thanks Jeff
Yes, there is a so-called "ENCODER" on the motor that tells the machine how far the brewing group should turn: www.juraprofi.de/Jura-Ersatzteile/Antrieb/Encoder-fuer-Jura-Kaffeevollautomaten::2653.html

Where did you get your replacement burrs?
Hi there - I have a question. Does hot water go through any plastic pieces during the coffee making process on the A1 Jura? Figured I would ask someone who has literally disassembled the jura piece by piece and put it back together
When I saw you remove the metal clip on the outlet of your pump, I saw you have the exact same metal clamp and collar mine does I was so hopeful to see you remove it, but you didn't :( I cannot find anything to instruct me how to get that hose clamp off. It is insanely stiff and I have no idea how to get it off. Every video I can find on removing the membrane regulator shows a completely different connection than mine (and yours). Uggh!
You will need to remove the inner sheet metal to release the clamp. This is best done with small pliers or a screwdriver. The assembly of the clamp is a bit difficult, so I recommend using an "oetiker" clamp afterwards. If the hose is already old then I recommend installing a new one.
@@yt.myworks Thank you. Man, I have tried just as you describe and that clamp is so rigid and tight I cannot figure out how to budge it! I appreciate the info though, as at least now I know there is no magic method and I just have to brute strength it. Thx for The quick response!!
Sorry Katie, but the mistake happened in my camera and that's why the video is broken at this point. But you can see the dismantling of the brew group in my other videos.
@Shaggy Lee It is oval shape screw head but you can use a hex shape small enough to fit and it can be open. Another way is to use needle nose plier to grab the screw head and turn it counterclockwise. After that no need to use that screw. Just put down the round tab to lock the side panels.

After seeing this, I went out & just bought a new one.
Excellent instructions, Thanks!
Excellent. I have a 3 year old S8. I’m in the planning stage of what you did. Your video is unbelievable. I sure do appreciate you.
Do you have a service manual for the S8?
Thanks!
Great tuto, someone gave a 5 year old A1, cleaning it right now, thanks !
Hello again. At about 20:20, do you replace the o-rings on the spout assembly? Thanks!
No, the o-rings usually do not break. Just cleaning the seals is enough.
Surely the best video so far for this task :)
Rusted grinding stones ( blades) I already saw many times . Mainly on Krups or Delonghi aswell.
I think there are three posibilities .
1) wrong coffee beans which contains a lot of water and oil
2) cleaning of container during maitenance with water
3) big humidity during stocking for example garage or somethink like that
@Tomáš Podešva I also think that the first and third options are very likely.
Hello, you can see this process in my other video at minute 5;58 th-cam.com/video/8cx60fPQPBg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=HVkAx4Fl-w4-Evrd
I got it ..behind it is the latch ..part of the plastic that has hose on it ..have to reach behind pull down slightly and then turn clockwise 1/4 turn and pull down
Thanks for posting this! After I cleaned and reassembled everything, the lights on the panel are just perpetually flashing… any idea why?
I didn't see it in video .. how to replace o-ring on water inlet side ( the orange one on machine under tank) - thank in advance
Bravo , encore une fois 👍. Un travail soigné , et elle en avait bien besoin , de passer dans tes mains expertes 👌.

I wish you would post more, joy to watch your repair projects :) Thanks!
Hello, yes, that's what I wish too :-) I want to make more videos in the future.
Do you provide a cleaning/refurbishing service?
10:30 the beans were moist or were stored in a fridge or freezer and condensed the water from air
Great video
Thank you for this amazing video! The steps are so clear that I want to give this a shot myself!
I just wanted to know where the blockage is typically? I didn't see this in video.
Which blockage do you mean? This machine has had many problems: calcified, dirty, worn seals, etc. These are all typical problems with this model.
Where did you learn about the “2 steps back” when reassembling the grinder? Is there a service manual available?
The assembly is visible in the video, or did you mean something else?
You made great work ! Also i have a question for you - Is there any technical difference in coffee preparation process between ENA micro 9 and A1 ?
Does the brew group move before the error message appears?
Sounds like maybe I’m missing a switch or pin of some kind?
hi, can you show me what coffee pomace looks like after making coffee? Thank you
Your maintenance process was very detailed, and I watched the entire 26-minute video.
Super, merci beaucoup ! Bientôt une vidéo sur la Jura E4 ? 🙏
Great video, thank you very much
I just cant stop watching your amazing works, and attention to details, thank you so much. can you please advise on getting used machine with open brewing unite system. you once advised to get Philips Saeco is this still the case please?

The motor is running one way only, pushing the main gear up and making a loud noise, is there an issue when I place the press back ?
Did you disassemble the brew group? If so, then you need to make sure it's reassembled correctly. Before installing, check manually whether everything can be moved easily and then bring it into the basic position.

When you reassembled the grinder it says you adjusted it counter clockwise two clicks. Was this for a finer grind? Thanks!!

Can you recommend a place to buy O rings/seals and food grade grease?
@Roi Berkovich I buy it on ebay or amazon, but be careful the o-rings for Jura A1 are smaller than for other models. Look for a food grade grease for example suitable for the kitchen machines.
I have two of those ENA Micro. One works ok, the other I just bought it use and broken to see how it works. I need to replace my grinder burr. I rather braking the bad one instead of the one I can have coffee every morning. On the broken one there is what I think is a code. Could it be a grinder fault?
@@tg2451 I think the machine is clogged. Most of the time, the pipes and the heater become calcified when the filter mode is active. The filter must be changed regularly, otherwise the machine will become calcified :-/

Nice job!! best regards from Mexico!

That can't be said in general terms, but seven years is possible.
Hello, I removed both side panels from the machine but the right side has a secondary side panel that I can't figure out how to remove. Do you have any tips?
Release the two latches on the top left and right of the inner cover. Flip down the inner cover and lift out.
Amazing job, thanks.
I only use distilled water in my Jura. Do you think decalcifying is necessary? I've still been doing it once per year.
I think distilled water is good for the machine but less for your health. You can use normal tap water, the only important thing is that you decalcify the coffee machine or change the water filter when asked.
Distilled water is very bad for your health.
My Jura A1 shuts off after startup procedure. May be clogged but doesn't react when I remove the water tank. What can be a problem? Thanks!
I think the brew group needs to be repaired or replaced.
Wauuuu...suppper work !Respect !
Where did you buy the grinder part? Nice video man!
You can get the spare parts (millstones) for the Jura coffee machines on ebay. But beware! There are different variants of the grinder please always compare with your Jura model before you buy.

Hi, have you any ide why the brewing unit is constantly trying to reset and the drive gear is trying to constantly turn. It's making a horrible noise.
I think the brew group is trying to find the basic position. You have to check what's broken inside the machine.

Of course the cable was hidden on mine too but it can't be seen in the video. You have to carefully push the other cables to the side ;-)
@@yt.myworks Thank you. I managed to get the cable out. I cleaned out the brew unit and it is working flawlessly now. If I add ground coffee it works perfectly. If I use the grinder, I can see it is not dispensing enough ground coffee into the brew unit. I took the grinder apart, are the burrs supposed to be sharp to the touch? Where did you get your replacement burrs?
great video but i cant event get to step 1, undo the round logo thing. any hacks i can try?
You can try putting tape on it. This gives you more grip and allows you to turn the emblem better.
Do you provide service I need someone to fix my jura impressa A9
Brilliant video 👍🏻
wow. great video.. so satisfying to watch.. i dunno why..
hello, can help jura ena micro 9 is blocked, no water will leak I tried to clean the intestines but I didn't find any limescale,
Try to start the descaling program again. The filter function must be deactivated.
@@yt.myworks it won't start descaling, it looks clogged somewhere
Wow!👍👍👍
Hi there - I have a question. Does hot water go through any plastic pieces during the coffee making process on the A1 Jura?
Figured I would ask someone who has literally disassembled the jura piece by piece and put it back together
Earlier saeco models were mostly made of metal. Today's models, including those from the Jura brand, consist almost exclusively of plastic parts.
You are truly a master at this! Do you sell the machines you refurb?
@_W_ I only repair for myself and my family.
Very impressive !
Could you make a video on how to make a deep cleaning for E8 Jura ? 🙏🏼
@nihad CASSIM as soon as I get my hands on a Jura E8 I will make a video ;-)
I hope to find video of ENA 4 or ENA 8
Hi, I am just finishing up cleaning my Jura but when I was finished I couldn’t start it back up just won’t start heating, can anybody help me please
Hi, did you connect everything correctly? Check everything thoroughly.
Could you reload this video? There is a portion that is corrupted. I love using this video to service my jura.
Sorry Katie, but the mistake happened in my camera and that's why the video is broken at this point. But you can see the dismantling of the brew group in my other videos.
how did you get that jura logo in first step.... can not turn that thing lol
You can try putting a piece of tape on it to have more grip and then turn in the right direction.
Also after removing the logo, what did you use to remove the screw?
It just seems like circular thing not even hex
@Shaggy Lee It is oval shape screw head but you can use a hex shape small enough to fit and it can be open. Another way is to use needle nose plier to grab the screw head and turn it counterclockwise. After that no need to use that screw. Just put down the round tab to lock the side panels.
Is this a service you offer?
Excelent!!!
