The summer heat has kicked in this week but luckily (for me) rainy season dragged on a couple of weeks longer than usual so the garden was actually pretty well watered.
You probably know this, but Sweet William is a biennial. They won't bloom the first year (if you started them from seed) but will bloom starting the 2nd year.
Yeah I thought that but the seed packet definitely said if I planted them in autumn they would flower the following spring so I was hopeful. I hope they don’t mind being dug up and moved to the new plot.

I had guests this week so was very happy to have a full vase of flowers out to welcome them.
