I find it fascinating that no matter how your flowers are (long, short, bright or pale) you still manage to create amazingly looking flower arrangements at your home. Well done!!!!

Thank you so much. I took ikebana (Japanese flower arranging) lessons for a while which taught me that you only really need 3-4 flower stems to make an impactful arrangement. I am also slowly honing in what colours, shapes and textures I like in flowers so that I can grow a more coherent colour palette and flower selection so I should have the basis for a nice bouquet at all times of the year.

Do try to start some hellebore from seed. I have a couple of dozen seedlings that are growing well. I sowed the seeds in the fall and they germinated after a winter in the ground. I’m newly obsessed with anemones ❤ but pretty sure the big ones are fancier varieties. Love the Peggy Tulip. My Swet William made me wait for year 2. That Vintage brown is so pretty! Great review video

Right, I am off to look for some hellebore seed as I would love to have more in the garden. Some of the ranunculus I ordered just arrived and are seeds not corm so it may be my year for seed starting.

Maybe the spray stock you saw was the quartet type? The arrangement with the buttery yellow stock is so gorgeous! I like your interplanting ideas. I was also surprised by the height of some poppies! I planted breadseed poppies for the pods, but will not put them in the front of beds again haha. Prolific (late) spring plants for me: orlaya, bouquet dill, iceland poppies, larkspur, godetia, and snapflags. I'm going to definitely look into more daffodils since my ranunculus bloomed so early and were lonely.

It was the quartet type and I have just found the seeds for it for next spring!!! I’m not allowed to grow bread seed poppies in Japan because they can be used to make opium so I am searching for other varieties that make the nice big pods. Snapflags🤣

Ok...I'm giving you an idea...Rue, have you ever tried Rue. It's an acid yellow/green flower (which I love) and also the seed heads are great. And the foliage is beautiful blue green. I've never cut them to try in vases but that's not my thing. I'm going to grow some tulip in pots for next Spring. Hopefully. Take care :)

Yay suggestions, thank you. I googled it and it looks like a great filler and maybe something to replace my fennel which came up really early but also died pretty quickly when it started getting hot. It is a perennial, does it die right back in winter or take up space all year? It’s also self seeding, does yours spread much?

@@fromthewitchsgarden I don't think it will die back in your climate. I don't think mine dies completely back and we get way below freezing maybe it does. Gosh I can't recall. No mine doesn't spread much but it's not in a great location. I hope to start some from seed in early spring so I can establish a larger patch because it's one of my favorite plants to have growing in my garden. It's also a host plant for Giant Swallowtail butterflies here. Did you try bronze fennel?

The bronze fennel is on my seed hunting list, fingers crossed.
