I just returned from my 3rd visit to Copenhagen and my 1st trip to Stockholm. I agree, the canal ride is a great introduction to Copenhagen. It's also a motivation to get away from the tourist areas. I love Copenhagen!

+Carlos Saraiva Stockholm has more glamorous architecture, but the people in Copenhagen are easier to to talk to, once you're sitting in a cafe or pub, in my experience.

We danish native people can also make movies about Copenhagen (København), for example - come on a romantic trip with "The Copenhagen Fire Brigade of the 1888´s (going to Kongens Nytorv) English text for tourists, but delivered by a danish heart. Solfald Film by Kim Sporring. Channels: Solfald København or Solfald Nørrebro

Terrific video and narrative. The narrator, however, was apparently not schooled on certain proper pronunciations. Nyhavn is not New Haven, but is pronounced New Houn. Nor does it mean New Haven, but rather, New Harbor. Same holds true for Kobenhavn - not Kobenhavn, but Kopen Houn.

And there was I thinking the English word haven was a Scandinavian word (as many English words are), synonymous with harbour and port. As for Copenhagen, I was speaking English. I pronounced it the way they did when they announced in English on the train. If you are eager to pronounce words like they are pronounced and written in the native country, start with English. As for me I'm ok with your harbor. ;)
