I love that apparently this is one of the _easier_ creations from his dessert bar, but Reynold still rates it a *9 out of 10* in terms of difficulty. Dude seriously plays on hard mode throughout his career like it's nothing.

According to an interview this dish is apparently one of the easier desserts to make that he serves on his restaurant menu. Apparently the producers shot down his initial proposal because it would be too hard for the contestants at this stage. I checked his restaurant menu, and this one is on his tasting Menu, the rest are a-la carte.

HowDoIfindAnamE he's from a Chef family, his brother is a chef from Indonesia (also a MasterChef judge), if I'm not wrong one of the most famous sambal product from Indonesia called Sambal Bu Rudy is his aunty cooking business. So it's not surprising Reynold is that good. The restaurant in Sydney called Koi and it's owned by all the three brothers and Reynold cook there, so he really is that good! Oh ya Koi is more into like a Dessert Bar so yeah he's so good at dishes, very very good.

I was so sad when he didn’t win masterchef. That’s why I’m rooting for him in masterchef 2020 I hope he wins this time. His deserts are masterpiece. The detail, plating and colours always look amazing and inspiring. I would do anything to visit his desert bar. If I ever get a chance to go to Australia that’s where I’d want to go first.

@@momon8738 I eat at Koi a couple of times a year (because it's pricey for the full multi course dessert), but boy is it worth it!
The sensations you get in your mouth with the taste and chemical reactions of different elements mixing together are DEVINE, and the Moss dessert featured here is just one small part of it.
Koi is always busy and is fast becoming a must-visit food destination of Sydney. They also do great dinners, but I only go there for the dessert course.
Ira Williams technically Masterchef the show in general was always meant to expose this talents to the world giving the cooks who compete a chance of exposure but US turned it into drama

Every interaction here is fantastic; Reynolds is treated and respected as the myth he is in the culinary world and not letting it get to his head. The gasps of everyone there when unveiling the dessert isn't faked or forced, everybody was expectant. And the way the Chef say's "See what I mean? I don’t even remember most of the winners’ names on Master Chef except Reynold. His artistic element is beyond words. I have no ideas what the judges were missing to fail him twice in 2 seasons. This dessert makes the one he made for MasterChef Indonesia, like an amateur level pastry. This looks stunning and artistic.
The applause and amazement for him was stronger than the champion's. He doesn't have to win the title, he already has it. Look at those judges and contestants faces cheering for him.
I like watching MasterChef Australia more than any other MasterChefs. They're more professional and dishes made are beautiful. The judges are so calm, friendly and helpful.

@Solling Li Perhaps I phrased it wrongly, I was referring to Masterchef US contestants taking on this challenge lol. Everyone in Masterchef AU (and to some extent, Canada) are better
Nahhh. They have great contestants in the US show as well. The main difference I see is that in Australian Masterchef, the judges actually want to teach the contestants how to be better and everyone tries to enjoy cooking, while in the US one, there's so much drama and arguments and people just fighting with each other.

zan i watch both the american & australian show each year, renolds went out in a challenge to, but i have not seen 1 american contestant that could come close to competing with him or the majority of other aussie cooks, love to see an american finalist get caught up in a heston challenge or even a zumbo, let alone gilmore etc, 5 hours or so for 1 dish with hundreds of elements, example look up the final billie won , heston was so impressed he gave her employment at his world famous fat duck restaurant,
