I find this more accurate than the expensive real thermal cameras because it really pinpoints the heat spots instead of everything on screen showing heat spots!

This is pretty cool. I like that you can take photos over the regular non contact thermometer. I also like that you get the overlay to find the hot spots. I could use that around camp for drafts.

Perfect for checking the status of your guests on Thanksgiving post turkey gorging.

This is a great tool for plumbers! Helps pin point slab leaks, wall leaks, etc... Good video and awesome pics of the cats.

These are super cool. Its a high tech temp gun (infrared thermal imaging) that allows you to see temperature gradations. Find air leaks in duct work. Find water leaks in concrete or walls. Like Dan said great for electrical trouble shooting. Great diagnostics tool for automotive applications. If I could afford one I would be rain man with a FLIR gun.

That is a pretty cool unit. I could see a few places to use this. Eric has a good idea to look for drafts, I need to do that at my place.

looked it up on Amazon can't seem to find it on the Canadian site but its on the US one for $499 so its a good price point, I have a Snap-on non contact infra red temp gun and its good but to be able to visualize the hot spots would be extremely useful...great video guys! Think I just found another Christmas present to ask Santa for!

Was interesting to see the cats cold noses.
When you do the comparison between models later, one primary use that I can think of is finding air leaks on windows, doors, and building materials by temperature, now that it is winter.

That is definitely useful for locating drafts in the house. Because of the price, I think it would make more sense for me to rent one rather than buying one. Great review guys.

Neat! yes, It would help in finding drafts in a room and all sorts of other uses. Later.

Cool tech once again, great investment if you put it to use. I've seem them used to find leaks in home insulation, the leading cause of high heating and cooling bills. Check and/or change windows, doors and insulation, plug the holes and viola - money well spent. Ask Amory Lovins about investing in insulation too. Thanks for the video!

This is a great option instead of the a full thermal imaging camera. The Fluke VT04 is another nice option. Amazon was running a deal for the Fluke for about $400 but you got back a $100 amazon gift card.

The FLIR cameras are really cool. I like the phone adapters they make (on sale for $250). If only they made it for Android.

Image quality looks better than the DEWALT. But you can change the overlay strength on the photo to more traditional photo with only mild temps or temp colors only.
The Dewalt does use the 12v platform, has a slide cover on the delicate lenses and comes with a nice hard case.

This must have been shot awhile ago you guys are wearing shorts in this vid. I really like the idea of having one of these A guy on another channel used it to diagnose a clogged sink, and electrical circuit faults. Flir had the One model marked down, but it was a one day deal I missed it was down to 249. I don't like the fact that the Flir one is locked into the Iphone5. I could use it to hunt down drafts in my house too I can hear them but can't find them. I think the Flir and Dewalt are imaging thermometers where the Milwaukee is a true thermal imager that's why its so much more money than the other models. It should be a good comparison even so.

Too pricey for it to be mainstream especially for a hobbyists/avid diy person..A professional/specialist who might use it every day would probably just buy a proper one...
