I don't really take issue with that. This game is largely a footnote in Mario's game lineage and isn't technically an official Nintendo release either, so their wording in the statement was technically correct (they explicitly mentioned "Nintendo games" and they also said "as far back as" which doesn't necessarily imply it definitively is the oldest example). Also, even this game wasn't the first time he was voiced by him either -- that honor goes to a pinball machine released a little before this.
Believe it or not, being forced to jump a piece if you're able to is an official rule of checkers... even though nobody I've ever played with has used that rule, either.
this technically isn't the first time charles martinet voiced mario; that honour goes to the Gottlieb mario pinball table that was released in 1992 (although charles wasn't credited for his voicework on that machine)
Welcome back to TH-cam, Mr. Eight-Three-One! How have you been doing lately? I've been having an excellent time! Anyhow, I had no idea, there was a board game compilation based on Nintendo's Mario character. This one looks fabulous.
This is a very interesting piece of Mario history The game itself is nothing special but as far as Mario games are concerned you can so a lot worse (especially since I’ve heard pinball land and sticker Star are considered one of the weaker Mario games and those were actually made by Nintendo) It’s worth it to hear Charles martinet as Mario before super Mario 64 and the memes with Mario playing go fish are really funny Seriously this Mario interacting with the cdi king harkinian is a laugh riot
@@EdmacZ I agree I wish more Nintendo fanboys admitted that even the Nintendo produced Mario games have their stinkers here and there I do appreciate Nintendo for allowing indie games on the switch but even so that doesn’t mean Nintendo didn’t do things I don’t approve of As a side note I feel like hotel Mario got the same circle jerk as sonic 06 where it’s labeled as the worst (insert franchise) game ever I mean different strokes for different folks but pinbal land, sticker Star, and even some of the weaker Mario party games exists And if we’re going to talk sonic then sonic Labrynth still exists
Hello, Mr. Eight-Three-One ! How are you and your family doing tonight? I hope you all had a Merry Christmas, and I'd like to wish you all a Happy New Year!
So strange to think that the early-to-mid 90s had all these off-brand Mario games popping all over the place. Must've felt weird to be a Mario fan in those days, and I wouldn't be surprised if the brand was horribly cheapened until Mario 64 hit the scene. The closest we get nowadays are those Rabbids crossovers which are joint efforts with Ubisoft. And even then are exclusive to Nintendo systems.
Not only was the first game that Charles Martinet voiced Mario, but it’s one of only 2 games where he was Martinet fully voiced Mario; other being Mario Teaches Typing 2. And before you ask, no. Sunshine doesn’t count as even though the game features full voice acting for the cutscenes, Mario isn’t. And a lot of his actual voice clips used in the gameplay are reused from SM64.
I actually do have that game, but chances are pretty slim I will ever do a video of it. Firstly, there's already a full walkthrough of it up on TH-cam, so I wouldn't have anything new to add. Second, to be honest, and I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I actually really didn't enjoy that game. I found the game unfairly frustrating in several places and that the mechanics were really clunky. It's one of those games I just don't see the hype behind and it's not one I really have any desire to play through again.
Charles Martinet is retiring. Nintendo put out a statement, but failed to mention that THIS was the first game he ever voiced Mario in, NOT Mario 64.

Really.

Interesting! Guess it goes to show what I know, haha.

Oh okay, I forgot about that part. I fixed the description now. Thank you!
Mario sent the player to the Shadow Realm on that Go Fish game.

Sticker Star and Ultra Smash are far worse than this game, and those were official stuff.
