Just bought your book from lulu. I love your teaching style. Simple, to the point and without wasting half my life with a bunch non useful blah-blah-blah.
Your tutorials are always excellent and easy to understand. Many thanks for taking the time and effort to create them 😃. Your teaching method is fab 😃!

Hi Jez I just received your songbook today and I'm ready to start learning all those excellent rock n roll songs. Please could you tell me which program to you use to be able to make your strumming patterns with small arrows and biggers arrows in color. like the strumming pattern for Blue Suede Shoes that will greatly help me to remember the strumming pattern and in pratice also. Your help on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards Germain
I have your 50's Guitar book, do you have any other Books? With song timing and Tabs? Thank you for your hard work. Does your Daughter play full time as you do? (Weekends)
Thanks very much for the songbook purchase Richard! If you go to Lulu.com and search for’Jez Quayle’ you’ll see other songbooks I’ve put together. There are guitar and ukulele songbooks.
There are several common versions of the 12-bar blues chord progression. What you describe is a common variation. Back in the 1950s, however, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley used the version of the chord progression I describe in this video when playing 'Blue Suede Shoes'. Have a look/listen to this live version from Carl: th-cam.com/video/DRNyvO4QouY/w-d-xo.html ...and this live, Elvis version: th-cam.com/video/uke1B0FpIZ8/w-d-xo.html Chuck Berry also tended to use this version of the chord progression.

I create those graphics using Paintbrush - the basic app that comes with Microsoft Windows.

I know this song and I learn it before 😃

Hey Jez, are you coming out with a 4 chords book on ballads too???
A good idea, but ballads aren’t something I specialise in singing. I sing the occasional ballad, but I’m never that confident I do them justice.
There's a D at the end of the chorus after the E and before going back to A.
