These videos really are excellent. I like the fact that there’s no extra chit chat, that’s important because students need to watch videos several times and too much non essential talk slows the learning process which can be quite frustrating really.
Fantastic 50’s style Rock / Rockabilly lesson! There’s truly not enough of this style taught on TH-cam! Not to mention you’re definitely one of the best instructors on TH-cam! It’s actually easy to learn and follow along with your lessons. Please keep them coming!!

Jez, I know you hear this all the time, but I had to add to the chorus: I have immensely enjoyed your tutorials while trying to learn the guitar (during covid) . Keep up the great work, love your passion and teaching style.

Greatly appreciate the Rockabilly acoustic instructions. I mostly sing slow ballads when playing. My voice is better than my geetar playing. Keep them coming.
Wow, that's great to know Karl! Recently I've been playing a Gibson J45 and a Taylor GS Mini in my videos. I use Martin strings (.012 - .054 gauge). Yes, strings make a difference -- from my experience, the gauge makes more of difference than the make. People make the mistake of using very light gauge strings (e.g., .010s or .011s) on their acoustic guitars, cause they're easier on the fingers. But you lose tone. People often set the action too low as well.
Thanks for this series of videos. Going back to the basics really helps me understand what I'm doing when I play more modern rock. Hey, how did you insert those graphics in the corners? I'd like to try that in my own videos. Thanks again!
I create the little graphics panels using the simple picture editor the comes with Windows (called Paint), then I insert them when I edit the video together using some free video editing software (called Shotcut).

Great stuff Jez, had to go back and look at the previous ones again after this (particularly like #3!). Great explanations and the viewers who compliment you on your teaching skills are spot on. Right... off to have a go at the Carl Perkins riffs now!
Thanks very much Ray! These tutorial videos seem to have really taken off. If I recall correctly, you attended the very first lecture I gave back in 1995 ...cognitive psychology/visual perception/pattern recognition, I think.
