Motion picture films don't last forever; many have already been lost or destroyed. For almost two decades, we've worked to collect, scan and preserve the world as it was captured on 35mm, 16mm and 8mm movies -- including home movies, industrial films, and other non-fiction. If you have endangered films you'd like to have scanned, or wish to donate celluloid to Periscope Film so that we can share them with the world, we'd love to hear from you. Uncle Joe hands Billy's father a bill for $3500. "Say, that's swell," says Billy's father. "Will you take a check?"
Soon Billy will be able to fly in Vietnam, and he will never forget flying in a helicopter ever again.
I thought the same exact thing.
Billy,... have you ever been in a turkish prison?
I haven't laughed so hard in years. Love the movie 'Airplane' one of the best lines.
Billy is now 73. I demand follow up
Later, Billy kicks the voiceover guy in the nads for talking in such a patronizing manner.
Billy became inverted at 4:17, but he survived.
Billy will become inverted again, in 5 or 6 years, over Vietnam.
Little Billy is clearly unleashing demonic forces and ripping apart the fabric of the spacetime continuum. 😉
Lol
Careful Billy 🙃
While Billy was in Vietnam, Billy found a good heroin connection!
Billy! Charlies in the treeline!
Lol
Billy is my dad's age, maybe a few years older. Billy had many more chopper rides indeed. Sorry, Charlie
At least Bell film audio editors didn't reduce RPM in hover to land, like in all movies.
That has ALWAYS been a pet peeve of mine. I guess the movie industry thinks most viewers are idiots and cant understand how a collective works on helis OR, is it that the editors cannot understand how it actually works so they assume the engine surely has to go down in RPMs so they can land
Drives me nuckin futs.@@garylucas6511
Have to say the B-47 is my favorite rotor type. Too many episodes of MASH, perhaps.
Looks like Billy was lucky to have an uncle that worked at Bell Helicopter, looks like the old Bell Fort Worth facility........
Probably was Southland Life Bldg was in Dallas.
Thanks. I wondered what city they were in.
That is the Hurst Texas main plant. I work in the hanger with the really wide doors that are closed. The swim lake is Bergers Lake and the boat was probably on lake worth or Grapevine lake
Billy wants to zap Charlie! Look a village!
I love these old films!

If I were Billy I'd certainly remember flying upside-down and talking backwards
My first flight was very similar to Billy's.... I was about his age, about the same year, and the same aircraft (Bell 47). My family was living in Sacramento, and a home developer was offering helicopter rides as an inducement for people to come out and look at his model homes. Mom and I took a brief flight around the development.
Same here. First ride was in a Bell 47J with floats out of Long Beach, CA back in the late 70's that gave rides next to the Queen Mary, created a huge addiction to heli flight, ruined me for life.......eventually led me toward a long career in helicopter aviation. Unfortunately that 47J crashed into the channel while giving rides about a year or so after my Dad and I rode in it, killing all on board, threw a tail rotor blade causing it to go inverted and nosed in.............
Of course he's called Billy.
Boy, how Bachman Lake has changed. Moved to Dallas in 1980 and lived within 1 mile. Now it's part of Ghettosville, go there if you want to lose your life.
That was Bergers Lake in Ft. Worth
Fantastic video find!!! Early 60’s Dallas.
Glad you enjoyed it

Cue the MASH theme.
Say Billy, do you like gladiator movies?
Good old aviation movies... 😊 I liked this film especially, because one of my favourite helicopter is the Bell 47. Thanks for share!
"Lock and load billy" 😅
Uncle Joe + Billy + a helicopter 🚁 = GET SOME
Very lucky young man. Wonder how his life is going. Maybe eye-in-the-sky traffic reporter.
"While flying over the lake, Billy saw his sister and her boyfriend necking and kissing on the sand"
"As they were flying over the forest fire, Billy saw someone running from the fire, his mean older brother"
Nice
I love the Bell 47, still such a beautiful machine
Always will be!!!!!!
Looks like the helicopter jaws ate
The helicopter was a Hughes 269B
