    What a legend. Grew up with these regularly buzzing our home during game keeping ops. Loved it since I was a child.

    The father of a man I used to work with bought one because he trained in one in the military.
    The name painted on the side of it read "Old Friend".

    I learned to fly in the TH55. Loved it. The day I left Ft. Rucker they were soloing the last class of 55s. Sorry to see it go. Makes me feel old.

      I went through Rucker 86/87 TH-55A veteran here. When I went back to the 64 AQC, I saw the last 55 classes going through. What a blast flying out of Shell AHP to all the stage fields as a 19yr old kid. (WOC IERW 86-41)

    Dad had a 269A when I was a kid and sold it. I never forgave him for that.

    I flew the forerunner ,the Hughes 200 only did 8 hours mainly because lessons were eating all my apprentice wage and there was no guarantee of a job after qualifying 🙋🏼🤑🤑🤑

    Do these 300s have governors or does the pilot have to do constant control of engine RPM?

    • @UNDHelicopters
      @UNDHelicopters  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Our 300C's did not have a governor, so pilots manually controlled the throttle throughout the flight. It does have a correlator though, which aids in power management when lowering or raising the collective.

    Does the Cadet cost more per hour to train in than the 300?

    • @UNDHelicopters
      @UNDHelicopters  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They are very comparable as the cost of maintaining the H300's has gone up considerably over the years.

    So it's not the last Schweizer, just your last Schweizer?

    • @UNDHelicopters
      @UNDHelicopters  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Correct! It was one of that Schweizer built before Sikorsky acquired the line, but did not produce any more aircraft. Recently the line was restarted by RSG in Texas so new Schweizers are now being produced!

    I don't care for that square shaped cut-out on the chin of the CBi model. What purpose does that serve?

    • @UNDHelicopters
      @UNDHelicopters  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's the induction air inlet. The air filter sits right inside. These were all C models, but the CBi has the same.

      It’s not, Schweizer initially sold their licenses to Sikorsky but Sikorsky was only interested in Schweizer’s unmanned vehicles. So Schweizer got back together and bought the licenses for the 300 and 330 back from Sikorsky. The 300C, 300CBI and S330 are still in production right now. (Since 2018), there were a few years under Sikorsky when they were discontinued, this makes it confusing 😅

    C est le dernier 300c la chaîne arrête de le produire pourquoi ?

    • @oscarpimentel3315
      @oscarpimentel3315 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because the little profit no is nice for Greats Factors didnt want to follow ahead, big helicopters give a resonable deal, It is not a tô much profitable
