    Use a small jam jar with a lid ,the oil lasts longer and don't go off,I also use the bottom of a small plastic cola bottle with holes drilled in it and the side left long enough so I can pick it out of the jam jar like a siv ,I put the coins and artifacts in the pop bottle then lower it in the oil and leave it for months ,then when I lift out the cola bottle base the oil drains out of the holes and I can then get out the items without too much mess ,I've just opened mine tonight after a year and it still smells fine it has gone green but that's because of the items

    Going to try your method on a bunch of old roman going, quite crusty but until now had no idea what to do with them.cheers buddy....

    Dist water 4 hours,a light tickle with a soft brush then back in for another 2 hours then coconut oil and toothpicks,cotton buds and tissue,works the best i find.

    In this video did you put your coins in tap water or distilled?

      do not use tap water...only use distilled

      @@yordanaleksandrov Distilled water is tap water with the chlorine ect...removed. Plain tap water w/chlorine can cause verdigris(green) spotting in time.
