Lot: Garliclauter Place
Size: 30x20
World: Forgotten Hollow
Type: Residential
Cost: §111,231 + Lot cost
Hello and welcome to Grim's House Challenge. This house is a rundown 2 bedroom 2 bathroom Victorian Style home and is playable as is. Grim & Bonehilda have had it with the house & Grim is burnt out on his job of soul collecting. They are selling the house and moving. Prepare Grim's house to sell by repairing, renovating, decorating & landscaping.
Rules:
• Download this house from the gallery and place on either a 30x20 or 30x30 lot (No larger lots)
• Lot may not be rotated and no basements
• Renovate, repair, decorate & landscape but do not change anything about the exterior walls such as wall height (I.E. no additional walls or half walls anywhere on the exterior. Fences are ok & yes, you can change the wallpaper).
• Foundation height may be changed
• Roof may be changed
• Interior walls/floorplan may be changed
• Doors, windows, flooring, wallpaper, etc. may all be changed.
• Terrain & Landscape may be changed
• No CC
• All packs can be used
• Lot value (lot info box) may not exceed §111,000
• No CC Gallery Art is allowed
• TOOL is allowed (but not necessary)

If you do not have all the packs I used in this build it will make no difference to the final outcome, just make sure exterior walls stay the same (do not add or remove exterior walls or change wall height) and the lot value is under §111,000
If you have any questions feel free to leave a comment.
It is no longer necessary to use the move objects cheat when placing lots built with the cheat on, however, I still recommend placing lots from the lot and not the world map. Always bulldoze the lot first before placing. It is also better to place the lot on the lot it was built on, placing on another lot can change terrain paint and cause objects to disappear. If objects still disappear, enable move objects

oh this is so fun - what if we don't have all the packs for the exterior walls not to change (ie the wall decor)
@@eatingketchupchips9567 It will make no difference, the walls are base game, all wallpapers can be changed, just don't change the exterior walls (add more walls, remove walls or change wall height and keep it under budget (§111,000).

While paring down the roof bits I noticed there's a chunk of platform in the midst of it all. What are the rules regarding platforms? Also, it says specifically that we may change the foundation height but doesn't mention other aspects, does this imply that we can't change the foundation paint and/or expand the current foundation to create another porch or enlarge existing ones?
Now seeing this just makes me wish we had gotten Grim Reaper as a career choice😂. This was so creative and great storytelling as usual and loved the build and the challenge 🥰

The editing is wonderful as usual and the music fits very well! It's creepy but not gloomy, like an eerie festival. The house is lovely. I want to live with both of them there!

I love this build so much, I'll try the challenge even though is way too late by now. I just want to annoy Vladdy Daddy by placing this rundown house in this precious town 😅

Your soundtrack fits the vibe perfectly. The storyline is funny, too. Poor Bonehilda and Grim. They may wish they'd just stayed at home after I retool their house. 😂

This was so much fun! The skeleton maid is not very good at cleaning, did you notice all the dusty floors and trash outside?? Is Grim having trouble sleeping? What Death App does he use? Maybe it's proprietary for his desk job? Is he drinking OJ or a turmeric smoothie? I am full of questions!
Thanks! Yes, his death app is provided by his job at The Brothers Grim Soul Services. I think he's drinking a lil vodka 'n OJ and I won't tell Bonehilda you said that ;)

Nuerodivergent sorry, so just clarity for end result: should it be decorated like they are trying to sell (aka not lived in/mass appeal) or like somebody has purchased and redecorated to suit their personality/family? or does it not matter lol
No worries - also not neurotypical =) You can decorate it anyway you wish =) It can totally be decorated & personalized as you see fit or how you envision a new family that may have bought it and renovated it =)
Ohh, it would be hilarious with builder's beige walls and shiplap and generic decor that Grim would hate but would be force to do because they want to sell!

Hi, great video! I had a question about the half walls though. I know we can't add to or extend the exterior walls, even with half walls, but if I wanted to use half walls to cover platforms for roofing purposes, would that be ok?

Love you builds been following you for some time now and always look forward to your next build! I downloaded this house to participate in you contest but having problems with the budget, how do I get started? I uploaded the house on my lot and deleted what I didn't needed and renovated it but I'm way over budget.
Hi, thanks for participating in the challenge! The budget can be tricky - a couple tips would be to use debug objects, especially for landscaping because most trees, bushes and flowers are free in the debug menu (bb.showliveeditobjects & bb.showhiddenobjects) Also, watch the cost of paintings , some of them are a couple thousand simoleans. You can also search the challenge hashtag in the gallery and check out other entries (not everyone came in under budget). Hope that helps!

@@karenrichard2972 You're welcome =) You do not need the money cheat unless there is a sim on the lot that doesn't have enough money to buy the house. You can also place the lot unfurnished (saves time deleting stuff) Just check your budget by clicking the save to library (file icon top of screen) and looking at the lot value.

Yes, you can change windows - no cc gallery art is gallery art that won't flag your build, it's the same thing as gallery art. Use the hashtag #grimsrenochallenge - All the rules are also in the video description =)
