I was fortunate enough to meet and talk to Neil when I was in London at the budokwai,s 100 year anniversary. He was such a nice man to talk to. Very humble and kind .Not just a great judo player, but a great human being.
great video as always chadi. I once met and trained with mr. Adams in houston tx many years ago. he use to teach seminars here at diamondback judo. he is such a humble man. before the seminar, he was outside in the parking lot trimming his fingernails. for some reason, I thought that was cool lol. i was his uke when he demonstrated his rolling jujigatame. i carry that memory always
Hi Chadi, your honesty is really inspiring. Tyson Fury talks alot about his mental health battles and I think it takes courage to be that open.Keep up the great work.
Interesting to hear the effect on some judoka, especially those who cannot access the solace and healing of a dojo. Now this recent vax thing may open dojos worldwide, and let us resume practice. That is essential. Practice and drilling alone can only accomplish so much.
I recommended to a friend who struggled with lockdown mental damage to take up judo I told him it would take him from isolation to the friendliest game of 3d chess he would ever play, he loves it
Interesting topic. Too many people commited suicide in judo community during the last decade. More questions than answers left related to this phenomena.
@@Chadi I started to dig out this phenomena starting from 2004 when Swedish Greco champion Mikael Ljundberg (Sydney 2000 Gold + Atlanta 1996 Bronze) committed suicide due to depression as it was announced. I was shocked. And starting from that time I'm researching and trying to understand this phenomena. For a quick start I recommend you to read the book of the Founding Father of French Sociology Emil Durkheim: book called " Suicide". It is fundamental on this issue and still very reputable till present days.
I have been very low some times in my life, the last time not so long ago. But I have to add that if you are having suicidal thoughts, go see a psychiatrist or even the emergency. Don't go to a dojo.
OF COURSE you should see a professional, like i said about the prevention center they have these activities, Judo can be one of them, not the cure itself, we are aware of that.
@@Chadi Yeah, I feel kinda silly saying it, but it needed to be pointed out. There are people out there who will find any excuse for not seeking proper help.
hey chadi i wanted to say sorry for repeating the same stuff i say to every martial arts channel i know what im going to i should im the one who going to train to be boxer, kickboxer, mma fighter and martial artist with these 7 combat sports that are the best of all time and used practiced more in ufc/mma sanda, kyokushin karate, taekwondo itf, muay thai, combat sambo, bjj, boxing and you know i might think of adding krav maga because it is militarized mma but lets let fate and GOD decide that and one step at a time ok thanks for everything you and everyone else

Like commentary?? Or highlights?? It's not so much my domain, Judo highlights and grappler kingdom do a much better job at that.

What is the main reason that you want to expand into several different martial arts? Do you find it natural for your mind and body?
