It was so cool that Eric bowed out on lead guitar for Scotty. Shows class. 2 legends here.
Of course he bows out for Scotty Moore! He played and help ignite the fuse that got rock and roll to explode. Nothing Clapton or any other guitar player can lay claim to that! He should have kissed his hands!
It's only right Scotty takes the lead. He wrote it!
BULLSHIT! Arthur “Big Boy” Crudup wrote and recorded the song before Elvis!
More “fake news” that relegates black artists to “non-people” 🤬
@@daveandcarolinepower4437 Scotty still wrote the guitar part
come on Scotty plays with such ease he makes it looks simple.....an under rated guitarist
Ah c'était le bon temps, celui de ma jeunesse, le début des années 60, où nous écoutions les tubes d'Elvis. Quel bonheur.
for those who do not know, Scotty Moore led Elvis's band from 1954 to 1968....Elvis asked him to go to Vegas in 1969, but Scotty said "No thanks, I'm too old to go out on the road anymore" and Scotty said "Call Ricky Nelson's old guitarist, James Burton. He'll build you a band."
For those who do not know Elvis' swiveling hips led Elvis' band just ask DJ Fontana on drums as DJ used to play strip clubs where his beat of the drums was led by the strippers gyrations. John Wilkinson rhythm guitar in Elvis' TCB band from 1969 to 1977 wasn't brought in by Burton - from Rolling Stone " Wilkinson grew up in Springfield, Missouri, watching Presley perform on television. In 1955, when he was ten years old, Wilkinson snuck into the star’s dressing room before a concert at Springfield’s Shrine Mosque and berated the King for his musicianship. “You can’t play guitar worth a damn,” the boy said." Elvis remembered that moment and hired John in 1969 per John. Ronnie Tutt Elvis' drummer was chosen by Elvis during a tryout. Sam Phillips of Sun Records was called by Elvis prior to the 1969 shows as Elvis asked for reassurance from Sam that he had his band set up accordingly for the ideal sound Sam said yes.
for those that dont know, i met james, ron jerry and glen together a few times.. james nearly came a cropper cutting a tree down in his backyard in the 90s and was lucky to survive, he also said they (tcb) had sessions with the stones in hotel rooms never publicised and they got on with mick and keith..
@@hollywoodj107 I simply quoted what Scotty himself said in his autobiography "That's Alright, Elvis""...read it and see. ..Scotty had EP contact James B, and EP did. And James accepted the offer. Who chose which band member after that is beyond the purview of Scotty's suggestion to EP...naturally EP would make any final decisions himself.
Keith Richard once said that when he was young everybody wanted to be Elvis. "I wanted to be Scotty Moore."
Amazing that this man wrote all those incredible Sun solos... some of them pretty much on the fly. If Sam Phillips hadn't got them on tape they'd probably be lost forever. Scotty's sound really was as important as Elvis' vocals. The two plus of course Bill and later DJ truly were the sound that changed music.
And Elvis never wrote one song
@@michaelthorne5441 Neither did Luciano Pavarotti - but he was still a world class singer
@@michaelthorne5441 Neither did Sinatra, Garland, etc. What Elvis did was interpret another people's songs, whether they were covers or those written for him, like no other. The Beatles wrote their own songs but couldn't sing to save their lives. Either way, it doesn't matter, so why use such pointless bullshit to have a pop at Elvis? Nothing against Scotty - and I can't imagine those early solos by anyone else - but no-one would have heard of him if it were not for his association with Elvis.
The Guitar Sound that change The World.
I met Scotty a fair few times.
Once I was leaving a club down the stairs and Scotty walked in by himself in a raincoat and I just thought to myself how cool is this, I shook his hand and thanked him for coming, a few minutes later I returned to the club naturally 😁
Scotty is criminally underrated - and a great guy too. I met him twice and he was as gracious as could be.
lucky you
Agreed, I was fortunate enough to as well. And got a 40th birthday postcard signed by him and DJ that my Mrs got them to sign without me knowing.. treasured!
scotty is an absolute legend.
amen RIP SCOTTY
I learned to play guitar because of this song
First guitar solo i learnt was the rhythm.type solo in Peggy Sue in A many years ago .
The lineage of guitar rock ‘n’ roll right there.🙏❤️🎼.x
If you watch enough of these videos with Eric Clapton in them you'll notice he's very good about not needing to be the center of attention, all the time
Scotty kills it here....
Great song!!!
The Real Memphis Sound!!!!
love Scottys guitar
Just wonderful, Scotty and Eric, legends.
É 10!
Oh, well done, Mr Clapton. Great to see this collab with Scotty Moore. Thank you, thank you very much, legends 💯⚡❤
Je salue Scotty Moore légende et guitariste du King Elvis des années 50 60 et Le Boss E.Clapton .🎄🎉🎊✨🎄
😁💖 AWESOME! Never knew this existed. RIP Scotty. Rockin with BIll and DJ and E. 2 of my favorite musicians and crushes since i was a girl 😁
What a lovely video thank you, its great to see these great musicians, working together ❤️
Scotty Moore guaaauu con Eric que placer escucharlos y encima como un tributo para el Rey una gozada
Like The Bridge In A Song Or Guitar, Good Music Can "BRIDGE" GENERATIONS!! 😄👍 ✌ 😎 🎶🎵🎶
Master class in guitar.
So happy to be able to appreciate this in our time Hope future generations enjoy this just as much
Smile Scotty
classic!!
What a classic rock and roll track… so much so I had a crack it.. thanks for upload 😊
Nota 10!
Awesome 👏 chemistry of two great legends
Great job! Very impressed! Sang it better than I thought he could.
A couple of great guitarist, love em to bits with licks
if you have never seen it check out the video with Eric, George and a bunch of other pickers with the late Carl Perkins IT ROCKS
Scotty spielt so cool, als könnte er nebenbei TV schauen.
Love scotty up !!!!
Wonderful uk '23
Good thing for most people I wasn't the director here . . . I would have only had one camera, zeroed in on Scotty's hands.
C'est sympa d'autant plus qu'Éric Clapton appréciait beaucoup Elvis ❤️❤️
I learnt that solo, but i need to speed it up a bit.
Scotty has the nervy dervies
the one on drums is like day lewis
Pete Prichard on the bass!
👌🇺🇸
60k views and the channel can't be bothered
with showing the 'air' date in description.
Pourquoi n'avoir cité que Clapton dans l'intitulé ?
Alors que tout l'intérêt de la vidéo est qu'il joue avec la légende Scotty Moore
SUBSCRIPTION.... 1632... !
As a vocalist, Claptout is a reasonable guitarist 🙄
didn’t know that SBY could play guitar
A better video has Scotty Moore on guitar, DJ Fontana on drums and Paul McCartney on bass and singing.
Eric killed this cover. Sounds better elvis
Murdered it more like it. Clapout can play a bit, but his voice is average to ordinary even on a good day
@@daveandcarolinepower4437 no rhythm just like the Beatles Paul sounded just as silly when he did it with Scotty and DJ Fontana
Yeah he butchered it with his ordinary voice!!!
I am sure its in A which is a pretty high key.
I play it in A D7 E.
Clapton is really struggling here, singing-wise I mean.
Amazing how this song is by arthur crudup....Elvis didnt write or make this song!!!! Give arthur his credit where its deserved! the real KING 1952
People called Elvis 'King Of Rock'N'Roll'....nobody claimed he was 'King Of Composers'.
scotty the magic
