    A nice car and good on Nissan, but the leaf sales are going to suffer when the model 3 becomes available worldwide, Hyundai seems to be the best competitor to Tesla, but they cannot produce the numbers due lack of batteries and no gigafactory for battery production.

      I hate the Model 3 because it just has an i-pad thing for every control and display. The Leaf has all kinds of buttons everywhere and a dashboard along with a touch screen.

      No byton and ff and lucid air are closest , the kia is uber slow and no autonomous driving yet

      @@unsignedmusic Yeah I think many folks will be turned off by the interior controls of the Model 3. Crazy that you have to take your eyes off the road just to turn on the wipers.

    Longer range battery coming sometime in 2019

    Only 40 kwh battery? I bought a Renault Zoe with 41 kwh battery.
    Nissan is owned by Renault, so I wonder...

      cool, 64kw is a great usable size.

      The price will go up because of the larger battery correct? To maybe compete with the Bolt? The price point now is great.

    • @davefitzpatrick4841
      @davefitzpatrick4841 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@sinskinner yea, I think you'll have the bolt, Hyundai Kona, Kia Niro & leaf all around the same price range, so the market is getting busier the next two years, which hopefully means competition & price drops!

    Will you get that 7.5 k rebate as a tax refund ?

    • @johnrobinson3461
      @johnrobinson3461 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is a tax CREDIT which is subtracted from any federal tax for the year in which you purchase the car. Apparently it is not "refundable" so if you owed 4,000 dollars in tax for the year, you would not get the additional 3,500 as a refund. Also, my understanding is that the tax-savings cannot be spread over two years, so for me leasing makes better sense as the dealer takes the whole 7,500 and passes (we hope) the savings to the lessee. Personal gripe....when dealers say the Leaf is on sale with 7,500 bucks off when it is the AMERICAN PEOPLE that are paying that 7,500!

    Poor information given, level 1 charging would take over 30 hours, and level 2 slightly more than 6.

    So what about NISSAN using predatory battery replacement practices for gen 1 battery replacement. Priced so that your car is worth nothing as the battery cost is in most cases worth more than the car. Buyer beware. Note: In buying any EV include a one liner in your purchase contract: Purchaser will be able to purchase a replacement battery for $XXXX or less at their discretion not the manufactures. Protect yourself!!!

    Nissan is way behind Toyota Honda in design and quality. The interior is cheap. The front end is bland. I didn’t even want to test drive it at the dealership. We went for BMW i3 and it’s light years ahead of this boring mobile.
