I have no words to express the exactly same feeling, I can'i imagine a world without him. His music has been with me since I was 15, now I'm 55 and feel the same emotion than always with all what he does. I feel really lucky sharing the time of my life with the best music ever.
When this man starts to play those slow meandering leads, it's his way of saying "Hey, you there, come take a walk with me..." and I go everytime.

I've seen this short film hundreds of time. I don't know why but it makes my heart beating differently. I was born in 1978, the date the first Dire Straits album was recorded. Since that day, I've been listening to Mark'songs. Seeing him getting old is like seeing my father getting old. I can't imagine time is passing that fast. Tracker is that good that I can't listen to it when I feel fragile. Thank you Mark for being here since the beginning of my life even without knowing it. You're like a father to me.

It feels like his songs are his children. He creates them than sends them out into the world for a life of their own. Very good parenting,not always easily done thank you, thank you you for sharing your music 🎶 😊
Just a shame it didn't work out with his brother David ... I'm sure he helped characterise Mark's song writing and as David's rhythm background influence and playing must help in the formation of the soul and feeling of the songs ... if you listen to the rhythm parts of their early stuff it drives the songs along ... I know it did in our band with our lead, drums and singer but again as quite normal in bands ... politics and silly attitudes screw things up, not so much the creative processes but certainly the friendships outside of the music ... then the money and how it is split also messes things up .. cheers
Mark Knopfler is a gifted wordsmith & troubadour with a unique mastery of the guitar. The music he creates is a welcome breath of fresh air appreciated by those with the sensibilities to recognize the depth of his sublime creations.

Heldige deg som fikk vært med på konsert! Hadde han fortsatt kjørt på med konserter, så hadde jeg bestilt billett med en gang. Sånn er livet når man er ung og ikke har fulgt med fra hans karrierestart.
Og Trondheim tilogmed! Hadde det vært mulig, så hadde jeg gått for magisk tidsreise tilbake i tid. Det hjelper nemlig ikke å lese din kommentar nå som den er blitt 7 år gammel 😅
I am a huge fan of Mark, even though he doesn't know that I exist for me he is like a part of my family, love him so much, love his music. I loved him when he was in Dire straits and love him more now. I believe all of us who love Mark's music are very good people with golden heart.
I'll be boring and say it again. What a fascinating face! The expressive eyes especially, from the '78 to now, I find enchanting. I'd love to see more such peeks into his world.
Can you please make it a movie with at least 100 minutes? Otherwise I will have to watch these 5 minutes 20 times every day! I LOVE IT!

The best album ever made for me. Sounds warmt and much dynamic !
I have found the folder nugget on this album, and it's "Terminal of Tribute To" which is one of the bonus tracks. It has the potential to be another Telegraph Road type epic in a live concert, with soaring guitar solos.
When I listen to it with my eyes closed through a good set of headphones, it almost brings me to tears. It is the track I have been waiting many years for Mark to produce.
What a humanbeing!!!! The time stops when he plays......... and when I listen to him, makes me feel in peace.

Ja dawno temu doszedlem do tego wniosku. Ba, puscilem babci album 'Tracker' (o Knopflerze nigdy nawet nie slyszala) i byla tak zachwycona, ze 3 razy go przesłuchała.
Thank you Mr Mark Knopfler for making this difficult world a better place to live in with your songs and Music!! Looking forward to hear first your new Opus Tracker in March and then to see you and your so talented Musicians perform in Paris next June for the very first time as I never got the chance to do it before!! Bravo!!

Oui ce sera vraiment la première fois. Il y a des fois ou on ne fait pas ce que l on veut mais là j ai décidé que je ne laisserai pas passer l occasion de le voir et je sais que je ne serai pas déçue. C est un grand artiste et il s entoure toujours d excellents musiciens. Merci.

Effectivement on ne fait pas toujours se que l'on souhaite, si j'ai vu tous les concerts dans mon pays de l'époque Dire Straits, je le reverrai en juin et (peut-être en juillet également) pour le première fois depuis la dernière tournée Dire Straits en 1993 :)
Cela fait toujours chaud au coeur de partager son admiration pour cet artiste exceptionnel avec d'autres fans en ce qui me concerne cela fait plus de 30 ans que cela dure et cela je ne changera plus :) Magnifique concert à vous :)

Such a delight to witness this process... Been a fan of MK since 1978... Looking forward to seeing him again (the 7th time I think) in October in Boston. A true craftsman, artisan, historian, - one who honors the past and drives the present with his effort and love for the song and the music.
I'll be there in Boston also - it will be my first time to see him perform and very much looking forward to it. As much as I was hooked when I first listened to his 1978 album, I enjoy all the feeling, thought, and guitar mastery packed into all of his newer stuff as well.

I agree. Particularly the scene at 5:10 where you see him from behind... it reminds me of the back cover of DS "On The Night" in a way. Now, I feel a sense of peaceful irony with there... because 25-30 years ago he would have been scanning across a vast sea of fans at a Dire Straits concert. I get the feeling he enjoys the view much better from where he stands nowadays. :)

There's an extraordinarily appealing humility about Mark Knopfler. Contrast the way he promoted with Tracker with Keith Richards's recent press junket, where he feigns humility while trashing any musician who dared achieve comparable success to him. Knopfler is a lesson in ageing gracefully.

Mark Knopfler still well, playing his guitars and composing. This video sort of documentary exposes some thoughts out of the horse’s mouth and some sound-bites from his new solo album Tracker. Tracker is an interesting subject for me at where I am as a human being, which is tracking down my true self. I guess that is why I crossed myself with Mark today, everything has a meaning, two guys at the autumn of life, lots of reflections over what we learned and lived. The thought is beautiful and exciting and makes me land with my both feet firmly on the ground. #Markknopfler

Nice little insight into the work behind Mark's songs. I love his new song Beryl which isn't on this 5 min film. When i saw the track listing and saw a song called Basil, i couldn't have been the only one who thought it was a song about Basil Fawlty :-)

Hay que reconocerlo Mark Knopler en solitario es un músico lánguido, al que solo se puede acceder para un disfrute reposado. En "Tracker" no vuelve a decepcionar. Once canciones componen su nuevo disco, álbum con el que fuera el alma de Dire Straits, muestra su cara más nostálgica. Eso sí, hay que reconocer que Mark Knopler canta cada vez mejor. Hay algún tema que destaca sobre el resto, como es el caso de "Broken bones" o "Beryl" que son claros homenajes a ese añorado monstruo de la composición que es J.J. Cale, así como el toque rockero de "Hot Dogs".

Can't wait for this album. The snippets of the songs makes me very curious and I'm glad he didn't continue the route he went on with his previous album Privateering. That wasn't really my cup of tea (besides 3 songs).
