    A video worth watching from passive causative point of view.This is the best video of passive causative in which you have explained some hidden technical aspects of passive causative.
    Thanks.

    Hi, Miss Gabby. I'm brasilian and I'm trying to learn English. I'm going to spend some days in Orlando/Fl, in order to improve my pronunciation and enrich my vocabulary. I can really tell you that your videos have been very important to me as well as for my apprenticeship and I'm watching all of them. You're an amazing teacher. Thanks a lot for your patience and willingness to teach.

    You are great. Thank you so much. Homework " I had my hair cut done on January the 14th, but I did not like it" Is that correct?

    • @EnglishwithGabby
      @EnglishwithGabby  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks so much Maggie! In the sentences you wrote, you don't have to include the word 'done.' >> I had my hair cut on January 14th OR I had my hair done. Usually the difference is that when we say we get our hair done, it is more than a hair cut. So maybe color or style in addition to a cut. Hope this helps!

    Can I write it in an essay? Is it formal or informal?

    • @EnglishwithGabby
      @EnglishwithGabby  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Formality is not so emphasized in English as in other languages. However, this grammar is absolutely used in essays. It’s very very important grammar that can be used in any setting.

    Is third form of verb used in passive causative ?

    • @EnglishwithGabby
      @EnglishwithGabby  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, the form is Subject + have/get + object + V3 (past participle) + time. Example: I had my car repaired last week. I hope that helps :-)

    I got Jennifer's birthday party invited on Sunday.
    Is it correct?

    • @EnglishwithGabby
      @EnglishwithGabby  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there! For that example you don’t need to use passive causative. You can use regular past tense: I got invited to Jennifer’s birthday party on Saturday. With passive causative, we mainly use it to talk about services we get done. So you could say this-> I got Jennifer’s birthday party invitations printed for her. This mean you had this task done for her. Does that answer your question?

    I have a question mam?. What does far mean?
    What does away mean? R these words similar to each other?

    • @EnglishwithGabby
      @EnglishwithGabby  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Arjun, feel free to email me with more questions (gabby@englishwithgabby.com), but far means a long/big distance from where you are. Away also means not close or at a distance from where you are. They have similar meanings but different uses. You can say- The school is far OR The school is far away. BUT you can't say the school is away.
      Away is often used with verbs because it is an adverb. Far is an adjective, so its used to describe nouns.
