    1 Some elderly people and busy people in my country have their houses cleaned.
    4 I have noticed that a singer had a lot of work done when I was a child.
    5 I get my teeth cleaned every two months because a dentist told me to do so. But most people in my country get their teeth cleaned every six months.
    I’m grateful to you for making a useful lesson video as always.🙏

      Nice examples! For the second one, you shouldn't use present perfect with a specific time in the past. If you say "when I was a child," then you have to use simple past because the past time is known. here's the correct sentence: I noticed that a singer had a lot of work done when I was a child. 😁

      @LearnAcademicEnglish  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@romanthedog6861 Not careless at all! This is a very common error! Present perfect is tricky because there are a few ways to use it in English, and I believe that it is used differently in Spanish, which can lead to confusion. :)

    Thank you for being so kind to read my content this is my first part and you have already answered my second part 💪.
    In causative we have sentences like
    Get
    Active - I will get someone to do this work ( means persuing or convincing someone to do something)
    Passive - someone will be persuaded or convinced to do this work . ( I don't know about passive. is my passive correct or if not then what is .
    Have
    Active - I'll have my assistant take
    a look .
    Passive - my assistant will be asked to take a look .
    { I don't know whether my passive sentences are correct if not let me know the correct ones }
    Get + someone/ something + v3
    Active - I will get it done .( Means I'm not going to do the someone else for me )
    Passive - it will be done .
    Have +someone/ something +v3
    Active - I'll have it completed.( I'm not going to do the work some else for me )
    Passive - it will be completed
    Have + some one / something + v3 and
    Get someone / something + v3
    Both have the same meaning but "get" is informal and " have" is formal

    Great explanation of the causative verbs. Now, let's imagine I dropped my friend's phone by accident, and their phone screen was cracked. Which one of the following sentences is correct, or do they both mean the same in this case?
    1) Oh! I'm so sorry. I'll pay to get it fixed.
    2) Oh! I'm so sorry. I'll pay to fix it.
    Knowing that I'm not the one who's going to fix the phone myself.
    I understand how "to fix" and "to get sth fixed" are different, and I'm sure that I can't go wrong with #1, but "fix" here is not the main verb , and this made me think that #2 might also be correct!

    • @LearnAcademicEnglish
      @LearnAcademicEnglish  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question. In this case, you can say either one. If you say "I'll pay" then we know that you are not going to do the work yourself. Therefore, you can say either I'll pay to fix it or I'll pay to get it fixed. I asked my son what he would say, and he actually chose "I'll pay to fix it"! 😁

      Good question. Take a look:
      She cut my hair. (active)
      My hair was cut by her. (passive)
      I got my hair cut (by her). (passive causative)

    Madam, this is a very important lesson for us.
    Please tell me this question
    Q- who is making laugh?
    I don't want to show whom is being made to laugh.
    In this case, that question is right??

    • @LearnAcademicEnglish
      @LearnAcademicEnglish  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is correct, but you must have an object. Who is making him laugh?

  • @vishnukr2007

    Great explanation. But I have a doubt. I learned that the verb "to be" is a part of every passive structures. I cannot find this in any of your examples. Could you please clarify my doubt?

    • @LearnAcademicEnglish
      @LearnAcademicEnglish  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question!
      You are correct that passive has the verb be, but this is a different type of passive. Think about it like this: I have my hair cut. ---> I have someone cut my hair --> I have my hair is cut. This is not correct because the second part (my hair is cut) is not a clause, so we omit the verb be. The grammar of the passive causative says we must use the noun (hair) and the past participle (cut) to make this construction.
      I hope that helps!

    How to change this sentence: I let you stay here

    • @LearnAcademicEnglish
      @LearnAcademicEnglish  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can't change that one to passive. You can say "I was allowed to stay here" instead.
