Hi All - As announced in this video (bit.ly/3eduRGS) I’ve launched a Career Consulting / Life Chatting “Service” where I’m meeting people virtually for 30 minute sessions. I’m continuing to make videos and answering every question I can in the comments as always and live streaming every Wednesday at 10pm EST, but this is a good opportunity if you’re in need of individually catered advice. If you’re interested, please fill out this form forms.gle/LRdnvX7inZWYoBrj7 Looking forward to hearing from you!
Great video as always Bryan, you deserve so much more subscribers. You explain everything so well that even a high school can get a good grasp. keep this up, I love the content
Where did you learn about how to conduct financial processes such as LBO’s? College or from your job? Did you learn most of what you needed to know to be successful at work from college or from the company you work for?
Should I transfer from a non-target to a target? They are both in Texas. I’m a freshman, and my investment club wants me to stay and argues that my networking efforts will be futile, but I disagree. What do I do?
@@TheBryanJun A certificate from the corporate finance institute, which includes topics such as M&A, LBO, Excel, Corporate Strategy etc. What do you think about the value of the certificate? Thank you! :)
If a company is privately held then how do you get the details of their business especially the financial statements...........do hostile LBOs happen in the private firms? Also, from where does one find out which private firm is interested in selling.......any public source? or the seller approaches the investment bank and they take it from there.
Why would a company go public to private, isn't it the PE firm that owns the company for the most part? And my second more important question, regarding the controversy surrounding it because they just look at the short term and by trying to maximize benefits they really make the company vulnerable in the long term, after the sell it, What would be your take on how to fix it?
I'm asking for a high school extracurricular where basically I have the jurisdiction of the senate to fix private equity some how, so really appreciate as detailed of an answer you can give
Would you rather study Computer Science or Finance if you had an opportunity to study at one of the top universities for free and your goal is to achieve financial freedom as soon as possible ☺
thanks! im a biochem student but im trying to work in the financial services industry (even moreso if i can mesh that with biotech!) so these vids are very helpful! p.s i absolutely love your voice 😌✨
Hey Brian, I'm digging your videos. I'm trying to break into banking and I've been looking for a course like Wall Street Prep to help build my understanding of financial modeling. Do you have an affiliate code for them? Do they do that sort of thing? I wouldn't mind getting you paid because I'm thinking of signing up for it.
I live in Texas. *(Not on Wall St.)* lol , but would you say obtaining a CFA or CFP is better for the purpose of getting paid well and when I say well I mean 150k+. I currently have my SIE, S6, S63 & S7. I work in wealth management for Citigroup Global markets but just wanting to take that next step in my career. Any recommendations? I really love San Antonio, TX and don’t want to relocate. What would you recommend certification wise for my scenario and why? Please and thank you in advance hope to hear back! I know it was a side question on theme of LBO of this video but just wanted your thoughts 💭. Thanks a bunch and great video👍🏽 -Jacob
hey mate, i'd recommend doing the CFA program. i'm in equities at an asset manager / finished CFA program, so i reckon that rather than thinking about how much you'd make, i think you should figure out if PWM is what you want to do long-term (CFP would probably suffice), or move into institutional funds mgt (CFA would be a huge plus). That being said, $150k+ is a hedonic treadmill, and with higher marginal tax rates in that income bracket, you probably wouldn't find that to be enough money when you get there!
Bryan, just subscribed because your content is amazing! I have a question: Is it possible for me to become an investment banker? I am a freshman at San Diego state university for business finance. I plan on getting amazing grades and hopefully doing an internship every summer (probably won’t get one for investment banking until junior year though) Please help me man. Appreciate you
I'm a junior in highschool. What should I do now to get an edge and have more of a chance of breaking into the IB industry? I'm taking a 9.5 hour course in it on UDEMY and am trying to learn a lot of the technical side of the work. Anything I should do in addition to that? Thanks.

Okay, subscribed.
thanks so much!
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it
So the difference with an LBO to a debt is just that you intend to generate more income from the LBO?
Where did you learn about how to conduct financial processes such as LBO’s? College or from your job? Did you learn most of what you needed to know to be successful at work from college or from the company you work for?
from the job / on my own!
Gold.
Thanks!
We're definitely hitting the 10k this year! Good stuff bro
Hope so!

If IB is genuinely your goal it may not be a bad idea but I'd give it some serious thought especially as a freshmen
What do you think about the FMVA program from CFI?
Co-ask
what is FMVA?
@@TheBryanJun A certificate from the corporate finance institute, which includes topics such as M&A, LBO, Excel, Corporate Strategy etc.
What do you think about the value of the certificate? Thank you! :)
I did it, recommend it to anyone. Teaches you basic accounting/finance and complex LBO, M&a, mining financial models.
Hey Bryan, for your Junior summer internship interviews did you get any questions on LBO or merger models?
good question! Im getting ready for a goldmn sachs interview
They asked what a LBO was but nothing beyond that

not sure on the first question and the second yes

Nad if anyone else in the comments have an idea, can you pitch it in too, I'm kind of on a time constraint to get this done
Would you rather study Computer Science or Finance if you had an opportunity to study at one of the top universities for free and your goal is to achieve financial freedom as soon as possible ☺
I think they're such different fields it'd be hard to say - I studied both in college and I think both have equal merit

What’s the best major in university to most likely secure a spot in a investment bank as a analyst then move on up in the scale ?

Haha... I know for a fact that Venture Capital and Wealth management firms are experts at LBO's. They'll probably be LBO nerds
