    This man blows me away with his humbleness. no other coach would recognise the two previous coaches as reasons for his success. He has bought the fans together and i know we will be in or around the play off places or in the automatic places next season.

    What an absolute legend. It's the most genuine interview I've even seen. Thanks to all staff and team. Up the Notts. Wembley was buzzing. Sore throat, could not keep quiet. The fans turned up, and when the masses got quiet.. pockets of chanting carried on. Everyone was involved in this promotion. Worlds oldest professional football league club.

      Im a wrexham fan but how our guy parky won manager of the year over this guy i dont know

    • @garethedwards5159
      @garethedwards5159 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BenWilsonuk1 It's pretty simple, we won the league whilst breaking the points record, so it had to go to Parky in my opinion. As a Wrexham supporter, I really like Luke Williams, he's a top manager (and seems like a great guy too) and had they pipped us to top spot, he would have won it and deservedly so, I'd have had no complaints with him winning the award if it had went that way.

    • @BenWilsonuk1
      @BenWilsonuk1 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Gareth Edwards Yeah, all fair enough points...but i prefer to look at end product vs budget... notts almost as good as us on lesser budget.... or boreham wood manager always doing a top job as well etc

    • @garethedwards5159
      @garethedwards5159 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BenWilsonuk1 Yeah I know where you're coming from, (this is just my opinion) but the trouble is is that approach is more subjective, as you could argue for example that a manager who has saved their semi-pro club from relegation deserves it even more so than any club higher up the table with more resources, whereas I think basing awards on objective, tangible achievements is a better approach, it's more clear cut with no subjectivity, hence why Langstaff was well deserving of his award, he scored the most goals and that's that.

    Fair play to notts county, considering langstaff went missing in both play off games, done incredible well to have got promoted. Again late goals are game changers and happened in both play off games. Well deserved, the two best teams in the league go up and no one can complain, it was the right result and the right outcome that the best 2 teams in the division have got promoted.

    • @Purewalite
      @Purewalite ปีที่แล้ว

      Very unlucky against BW with a shot on the turn that went narrowly wide. Missed his 1 chance in the final but scored his penalty.

    • @clj.4874
      @clj.4874 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Purewalite you been very generous here, he was crap in reality in both games, missed the odd chance he did have and they were quite easy to hit the target, and was like a ghost throughout the games. Be interesting to see what he does in div 2, if he stays that is.

    • @garethedwards5159
      @garethedwards5159 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In fairness to Langstaff he's seems like the type of player who needs service, and he didn't really get much of it in both play off games, as Notts played pretty poorly by their standards, combined the the opposition throwing everything at it with them not having anything to lose.

    • @clj.4874
      @clj.4874 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@garethedwards5159 Nemane would have something to say about this, the crosses he was putting in. Rodrigues was at the heart of everything. Truth is langstaff was dealt easily by the opposition defenders, and chances he did have, he missed. Good thing for notts county, was the scouts watching could not have been too impressed, he failed to even get involved in both play off games really. Certainly has not impressed in 3 big games now ( wrexham, boreham wood and chesterfield ) and gone missing.

    • @garethedwards5159
      @garethedwards5159 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@clj.4874 Well we'll agree to disagree. I think you're being a little harsh, because to me, 3 games, even big games, over the course of a season and more, is really nothing. All goal scorers go through barren spells. In my view, you can't really say he goes missing in big games on the back of just 3 big games, especially after the season he's had. If it's a recurring thing over the course of a number of seasons, then fair enough.

    On Luke’s appointment the initial reaction of many was who? And how a man of greater experience was needed. But the owners had done their homework, and what a manager we now have. He has attained legendary status in bringing us home. Personally a part of me would happily settle for mid-table obscurity next season, safe in the knowledge that we’re back, but the cushion of League One status should be the motivation to kick on next season. COYP.

    As a Wrexham supporter it was great to go to Wembley yesterday and support Notts County and see them win. They did it the hard way - Chesterfield had a great game plan which Notts County did not seem to be able to adjust to. However, the second half and most of added time was really Notts County but they could not find a way through. Well done and looking forward to seeing you at the Racecourse in 2023 - 24.

    A lesson in a pointless promotion idea . This team should have been given auto promo.
    Why on earth is this league governed to only one team going up .
    If county had lost this match they would have had every reason to feel cheated.
    Come on EFL . Sort this shambles out . 2 up and 4 on a playoff .

    • @garethedwards5159
      @garethedwards5159 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah agreed, especially as all but 3 sides in the NL this season are fully professional. EFL will always be reluctant to change it though, I think it will probably only happen if there is some sort of crisis in the future which prompts a bit of an overhaul of the whole system.
