    Been budgeting for a MiSTer for 2 years now. Come the new year, I'll be ready to afford this beast and I just can't wait. I'll be using your videos as a guide, as they are thorough and informative.

      Nice! Great job budgeting for it!

      @@whatskenmaking thanks. I'm a penny pincher and all good things are worth waiting for at the right time. I had other thins over the past 2 years I spent money on instead of the MiSTer... Not much longer now.

    I never thought I'd see one of my comments actually appear within a video! Even though I have 2 MiSTers already set up, this was a useful guide as I'd never though to manage them through SSH and Samba. I like your calm and clear way of explaining things👍

      I appreciate hearing what folks want to see! I enjoy putting together this content; it was a fun video to pull together. Thanks for the encouragement!

    Thank you for this mini-series on the MiSTer FPGA. It is the best one i have watched.
    Also thank you for the links in the description of the videos. Including the links to the stores, with the number of stores for the MiSTer FPGA is hard to know which ones are legitimate.

    Thank you for the informative video, Ken! I received my MiSTer about a week ago and it's really fun to experiment with it!

    Thanks Ken for the setup and config tips! Very well done. I particularly liked the tips on the config of the menu and your rationale for each of your tips; lastly the super attract mode was a new one to me. Thanks

      SAM is really neat feature, and when you add larger game collections to the library, it really lights up. Another script that tends to grab my attention is the “random” script - it’ll keep you entertained for hours 😁

    Great mister videos. Think I’m getting ready to break the ice on my own build.

      Thanks! I’ll be curious to hear how quickly you’re able to get the DE10-Nano. If I had it to do over again, I probably would’ve just gone with the MultiSystem from the get-go.

    Another great informative MiSTer video, Ken!
    Why don't you have more subs!
    You're brilliant at these videos and make it so easy to understand! 😅
    When you have some spare time, could you do a NOOB's video guide on MT32-Pi please? 🙏

      I’d love to dig into the MT32-Pi … I think it’s such a neat idea to integrate it into the MiSTer, and to use it with the AO486 core in particular. I’ll add it to the list, but I can’t say for sure when I’ll be able to get it done. Thanks for the kind words and encouragement!

      @@whatskenmaking I've owned an MT32-Pi for about a year or so now and it's easily one of the better MiSTer add ons that I've purchased for my MiSTer system.
      Not many people realise how great midi sounds like especially (for me) on the X68000 core! 😎

    cool thx didn't know about the priority order, i preloaded my ssd by copying the entirety sd card to it, turns out that was why it didn't see what i'd been putting on the card recently

    This video is great! I always come back to it when I make a fresh Mister install. Do you think you could make a video on how to access the Mister from MacOS?

    Great videos! You helped me greatly set up my MISTer Multisystem that i purchased earlier this year but hadn't had time to set it up until now. Can you share a photo of how you mounted your USB SSK caddy under the cover? Thanks

    that blue case, is that fully 3d printed as well as the one on your 2nd setup?

    • @whatskenmaking
      @whatskenmaking  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the blue one is using Azure Blue Prusament PLA, printed with the v5 version of the multisystem case here: www.printables.com/model/159379-mister-multisystem-v5-2022-classic-gaming-console-

    I like the multisystem, but they no longer sell the motherboard, only something on a git hub... If I download that, where or how do I get a board made? HELP PLEASE 🙏🙏

    • @whatskenmaking
      @whatskenmaking  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you want to build one yourself, you'll need to download the .zip file of the gerber (github.com/Heber-co-uk/Multisystem/blob/main/releases/Multisystem_V3_23005%20Final%20Data%20(05-10-2021).zip) from the GitHub repo and use a PCB fab like jlcpcb.com or pcbway.com to get boards made. It looks like the cost at jlcpcb is ~$40 for 5 boards. That only includes the PCB itself - you'll still need to buy all the components (ICs, passives, ports, connectors, etc...) and solder them yourself. Unless you have some experience building boards like this, I'd recommend keeping an eye out for a used board... or go with one of the alternative MiSTer configurations.
