I have several pairs from TLB, and love them. Especially at the price point. Nowhere else are you going to get the combinations of excellent shell, MTO design, and great well made shoes at the price they are going for. And even across the pond, their communications and customer service is excellent as well. Thanks for the review.
Great video - enjoy your content, nice shoes. I have the Carmina and Crockett and Jones Shell Cordovan, I love my Carmina, I believe they make the best shells for the price.
I really enjoy your channel and content. I only have 2 shell shoes - AE Daltons in Color 8 that I have sun faded and now are more of a brownish red (looks great) and a pair of Grant Stone Ottawas in Honey Glazed Shell. Both are Horween but the GS feel a bit thicker - but maybe it's the lining. The GS are just more sturdy in general, while the Daltons feel a bit more supple. I hear what you are saying about the other types of shell. Horween is #1 - I haven't any experience with Shinki or Rocado. But, from what I've seen, both look good. Your experience with the reaction to rain spotting was interesting. Also, I did notice the rolls aren't similar to how Horween shell rolls. In any case, nice kicks, and I hope you enjoy them.

Yeah this has always been one of those big gaps in the market as it’s hard for a new shell maker to break into the conversation. But from all indications TLB is deserving of the attention and hopefully it continues to be more and more competitive in the space

Great video and review. That's a lovely pair of shoes. I checked the website and it looks like TLB doesn't offer a Horween option for cordovan - Is this correct? The only cordovan choice offered is selecting the color. Thanks for the content.

Got a Rocado shell derby from brooks brothers. Found it thin and plasticky. Maryam shell is thicker and better, IMO, if you can find it unpainted.
Yeah it can be difficult to gauge sometimes the difference between what the shoemaker does to the leather vs the tannery. But yeah fair points!
