Look how many kids came out to join them... some new friends were had in that neighborhood that day... making it a better place to live...

That's how to police the community, learn the kid's names and be a good role model and you'll get respect. Roll up on people and draw your weapon and you make yourself an enemy.

2 things I would like to comment on. 1/ Officer white was cool in the way he handled it right from the start by asking the kids "can you believe someone called the cops because kids were playing basketball"? 2/ I know when he dunked the ball the hoop wasn't regulation heigth, but he did pretty good for having at least 20 lbs. of gear on him.
I don't know if he's one in a million, or one in 10,000 or one in a hundred, but not many cops out there today are this cool. The others need to pay attention to how to improve the public opinion of them, like this legendary officer.
The cops in my town were pretty cool. One of them stopped us on Mischief night and let us cover his police cruiser in toilet paper and shaving cream. He ended up becoming the mayor.
If all police officers decided to enjoy and spend quality time with the community they serve, as this man does; there would be very few crimes. For who would want to harm a community that is cared for by someone they know and admire.
