  • So excited about this design! Shame that the lockdown measures hit half way through filming the action shots for this edit. Big thanks to Dave Fusilli, Levi Rhodes, Robert Machacek, Chris Wing, Aaron Kendal and the rest of Team Pyranha for contributing footage. Looking forward to getting back on the water in the Ozone (and gettign a haircut). Catch you on the river, Bren.

    Me after watching this: "Maybe one more."

      Ditto here. Burn 3 became a Machno. Then added a Ripper. Pulled the trigger on Ozone about a month ago, and no regrets. Such a fun boat!

    A 230 and a 220.
    Both are legendary rides

    I had the same conversion as you and I haven't even tried one! Wasn't convinced there was enough of a niche when it was announced, but after watching videos like this I feel like I need one!
    Especially as I'm trying to push myself to paddle the Ripper on more grade 4, having this boat to slice it up on the grade 2-3 stuff would be ideal.

    I could watch this all day. Bren tries every Pyranha boat there is... What can each boat do. New series?? You make this sport so fun, I have dared to try things I see you do that I never would have known existed.

    I saw one of the early production mouldings in the Dewerstone shop when Rich brought it down to show it off. It was an awesome combination of performance feature to see. Especially with my love of my old school Dagger Super Ego which is of course the type of boat the Ozone is in the spirit of.
    As an aspiring designer that hope to be developing this kind of thing before too long, this is some inspiring shit. I think the best bit is; what's next?

      The Chronic was such an awesome boat design. I really liked the orbit fish too.

    • @nicksinderson3302
      @nicksinderson3302 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Necky Chronic= surf machine. I loved the chronic but changed to a Necky Mission for more comfort in my old age. The Mission is a surf machine too and l'm guessing very similar to a medium Ozone performance wise. Too bad Necky quit making whitewater boats some 15 years ago as 4 out of 5 of their last run of boats (orbit fish, chronic, mission & vibe) are still valid designs. The outlier was the creek boat; the Crux, not a bad boat by any means when compared what creek boats were like in it's day. That said, it wouldn't hold up to a comparison to today's creeking/river-running boats.

    I'm really enjoying my Ozone. I'm paddling in the mountains of western Canada and I can run and play almost anywhere I want to this boat. In your opinion what would your other boat be for running harder mountain rivers? I'm thinking the Scorch more than the Ripper 2. The Ripper 2 might have too much overlap with the Ozone. Do you have any thoughts on the subject?

    • @Senders
      @Senders  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I like big and small, So I agree with you I would probably have a Scorch and Ozone, instead of a Ripper and Ozone. that being said I currently have all of them and use them all a lot. I would say get the scorch for the big days!

    A concept kayak that already existed and was used 20 years ago, then got outfashioned by smaller and smaller playboat and creekboats. Now they brought them back (with improved engineering of course) claiming that they discovered the hot water...

    Dear Mr. Orton! I have 2 questions about Ozone. I have one in size L, I am over 190 cm tall and almost 100 kg heavy. 1. Where do you have the seat? I have now in the middle, but I feel I have to paddle, turn, surf etc. my Ozone quite back. Normally, with most kayaks I have the seat almost all the way forward, but not now. 2. How much have you raised/padded the seat? I had to raise my seat almost 2 cm. Now it is a lot easier to control.
    Yours,
    Kai Heltola

      @xlr8r17 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Ozone looks way more comfortable. I love my Loki but can appreciate a little more volume up front. It's good to see that you can still cartwheel the Ozone but it doens't require smashing your legs into a coffin like the Loki.

    Hi. I am a man with 188cm (6.16ft), +-85kg (190lb) and shoe size 45 (11). So i am between M and L. Which Ozone would be perfect for me? We have no big water and no big waves here, so i will mostly paddle "flat water" with Old School Moves and will have some fun in eddy lines... With the M i´m near the max. weight limit and with L to much volume maybe, to bring the bow and stern under the water! Cartwheels impossible...?

    All they did was copied older designs, get yourself a used perception method or a blaze for $150 (going price for old boats that old) and you will have the exact same boat

    Looks fun! But.... PLEASE update your outfitting Pyranha. It is not great. In fact, probably the worst of the three major brands by a bit. Just please... PLEASE . Just bought a Ripper and it was an absolute pain, literally, to outfit. And I have an absolutely dead average athletic male body type/size. It shouldn't hurt to be in your boats

    • @thatsounditmakes9177

      I was in the market for a Machno, but decided against it because of the outfitting.

      Do try an Ozone! I chose for my creek boat Dagger Mamba over Pyranhas just because comfortness, and sold my Pyranha Jed, because after one hour paddling my lower back was so bad, I couldn't walk in two days. But, now I have an Ozone L. It is still more comfortable than my Mamba. I am 190 cm tall, wear 11,5 shoes, and can sit in this boat with good boots all the day.

      As someone else has said give the ozone a demo I find my ripper to be a little uncomfortable but the ozone I can and have say in it for 4hr surf sessions without any pain at all. Easily the most comfortable boat I've ever had the pleasure of being in.
      With that said though I don't disagree with them needing an outfitting refresh.

    • @dgrfsthrgsergwrtghasefq
      @dgrfsthrgsergwrtghasefq 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Learn how to actually outfit a boat, (to and for yourself), like we all did before everyone got complacent and forgot how to use glue, it will be better than all the sloppy junk all companies put out now for a one size fits all outfitting with stacked up shims to hold you in your boat.
