- As soon as Thailand reopened its borders to tourists, the pedophiles returned. And as poverty in the country has worsened, the successes achieved in the past decades in the fight against pedophile sex tourism are now on the line.
Officially, the child prostitution that once existed in Pattaya has ended. But according to child protection agencies and the deputy police chief “the children who are being abused are getting younger and younger, and the violence that is being done to them is getting worse and worse.”
We investigate how the so-called ‘normal’ sex tourism creates structures in the red light districts that acutely endanger children. We speak to the European men who equate paying for sex as a kind of ‘aid’ and hear the point of view of the women forced to sell their bodies. We also follow a case of a German tourist, who allegedly had sex with prostituted children in a bar. But to the surprise of the Thai police, he was able to leave the country by paying a 50,000€ bribe. Surprisingly, he agrees to speak to us and admits to the bribe but claims he could not get a fair trial in Thailand.
This documentary was first released in 2023.

I watched until he claimed there was a child holding hands with a tourist ,I think this was misleading because he does not know the age of the girl ,most of them look much younger than they are and it would be a huge risk for anyone to do this .I have never seen a child prostitute in pattaya but have seen many young children walking around late at night selling things.I also know that any bar that hires underage girls will be shut down and prosecuted by the police .these documentaries need to be factual if they see something wrong that is good but they should not create a situation that does not exist.

The line is bold that one should never cross. Crimes against children is trauma that lasts a lifetime. Doing anything to stop it is admirable; however, working against family members whom encourage / allow it are the real criminals. When I lived in the PI there were rumors though it wasn’t out in the open. No doubt child prostitution is a problem throughout SE Asia. Children are future adults they need to be protected at all cost.

These predators also know the right places to target, they go to the most impoverished areas where people are destitute and law enforcement can be paid off.

I've known ladies who have worked in bars to support their family, some of whom are guys too lazy to get a job and spend the money on booze and gambling. It seems the family have no shame to let their daughter or sister do this. I knew a lady who came from the countryside to work as a hooker in Pattaya. She was 15 and a virgin and years later had never had a relationship, also she spent money on lots of clothes, makeup, jewellery and tattoos etc. Now she can't stop work.

Hope this can do something to stop such heinous crimes...sex is such a low denominator energy and when it becomes a chosen livelihood its karmic and grave for both parties.
