How much is the Thar Roxx’s price?
Prices for the Mahindra Thar Roxx start from Rs 12.99 lakh. The entry-level diesel model is priced at Rs 13.99 lakh . The rear-wheel-drive (RWD) variants of the Thar Roxx tops at Rs 20.49 lakh. Mahindra is yet to announce the prices for the 4-wheel-drive (4WD) diesel variants of the bigger Thar.
How many variants are there in the Mahindra Thar Roxx?
Unlike the Thar 3-door, the Mahindra Thar Roxx is being offered in two broad variant levels: MX and AX. These further branch out into the following sub-variants:
MX: MX1, MX3, and MX5
AX: AX3L, AX5L, and AX7L
What features does the Thar Roxx get?
The Mahindra Thar Roxx gets two 10.25-inch screens (one for the driver’s display and the other for the touchscreen), a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, a 9-speaker Harman Kardon-tuned sound system and auto AC with rear vents. The bigger Thar also comes equipped with amenities like cruise control, wireless phone charger, automatic headlights, and push button engine start/stop.
How spacious is it?
The Mahindra Thar Roxx is a 5-seater off-roader that should seat a family of adults comfortably. Unlike the 3-door Thar, accessing the second row of seats is convenient due to the additional set of doors and the Thar Roxx also offers better boot space, thanks to its extended wheelbase.
What engine and transmission options are available?
The Mahindra Thar Roxx gets two engine options, specifications of which are:
2-litre Turbo-petrol: 162 PS, 330 Nm (MT)/177 PS, 380 Nm (AT)
2-litre Diesel: 152 PS, 330 Nm (MT)/ 175 PS, 370 Nm (AT)
Both engine options are available with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox options. While the petrol and diesel variants come with a RWD drivetrain as standard, the diesel variant also gets an optional 4WD system.
How safe is the Mahindra Thar Roxx?
The Mahindra Thar Roxx comes equipped with safety features like 6 airbags, electronic stability control, hill-hold control, hill-descent control, 360-degree camera, electronic parking brake with auto hold, all-wheel disc brakes, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). The Thar Roxx also gets advanced driver assistance features like lane keep assist and adaptive cruise control. In Global NCAP’s crash tests, the Thar 3-door received 4 out of 5 stars for both adult and child occupant protection which bodes well for the crash safety of the 5-door Thar Roxx.

Interior white colour is an annoying feature. It could have been an optional feature with other colours. Being ventilated front seats the customer can not mask the white upholstery with other colour seat covers. That is too pity. The roof white also could have been replaced with dark colours.

Next gen will be much better I think, still Mahindra needs to iron out some issues. We must be able to keep minimum 1 liters bottles in the door both front and rear( faced similar issue in Tata Togo which was frustrating). Heard the wireless charger is very slow in one review. The sunroof is taking ages to open, rear quarter panel instead of triangle rectangular shape would have been better. Exposed wiring seen on all doors and boot. Front seat underthigh support should have been improved, looks like the same seat from the 3 door thar. The Aluminum cover of the break pedals are coming off during the test drive itself. They need to work more on the fit and finish. Overall there is massive improvement from the three door thar and this SUV will be a massive hit in the market but I feel there is still room for a ton of improvements which will come in the coming generations of the vehicle.
