    BTW I do have a 1.5" leveling kit up front. XD series wheels are 17" with -18 offset, tires are General Grabber AT2 265/65/17.

      @yunohu386 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, just a question about your tire size. You mentioned in the video it's about a 33" tire but the size you wrote here is about a 30.5". I have the original OEM tires on my 2017 and those are about 29.5". Can you please confirm? Thanks

    • @DriversOnly

      @@yunohu386 I misspoke. Before I had some 265/75/17s before and I had to replace them. So these are more about 31" tires rather than 33" tires.

    I'm buying a 2021 RTL-E as soon as they get to the dealer. I'm not an avid off-roader but I like the overall utility of the Ridgeline, especially the trunk in the bed. I carry various emergency gear in my car's trunk and until the RL I would have to stow that stuff in the back seat. It also has plenty of power and has a much more comfortable ride than most trucks.

  • @great0789
    @great0789 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    I think that the Ridgline is a great crossover truck. It will fit most people’s needs magnificently. However, off-roading and high frequency towing are not its sting suit. This was a wet dirt road. It will shine there... especially at higher speed driving. Not so much in the rough stuff. I saw one overheat the transmission on a dirt road in Colorado just going up in elevation for a while. The drivetrain isn’t going to hold up to adventures very long....

    • @coytus94
      @coytus94 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreed. While it was designed to be able to handle off-road adventures like that when needed, it's not designed to do it for the long term.

  • @joshgutierrez7380

    Truck owners always bash the Ridgeline because they say it's "not a real truck" but honestly in most situations it's going to take on terrain like this a hell of a lot better than the competition.

    Love the look. Are those 17x9 XD Monster 2 with +18mm offset? How did you get those to fit on the Ridgeline? Did you use bolt adapters to fit them and if so what kind and how much more does that pop them out? I heard too much positive offset can cause more rubbing than just going with an 18x8 wheel and 30.5" tire.

  • @bmwmsport11
    @bmwmsport11 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    The issue with the ridgeline is that it doesn’t have enough ground clearance to do anything more than light off roading. Those powerline trails can be handled by 2WD work vans. I used to run my Subaru Outback down trails like that(8.7” clearance) and the main issue I was running into was bottoming out. Skid plates are only insurance. If you bottom out and the wheels lose contact with the ground or you damage the power train you’re as good as dead. A Tacoma or Colorado with a 4”+ lift and underbody protection is ideal.

    Thanks for the video. Have an accusticom 2.0 emf meter and milligauss meter. Would like to know how much emf is emitted from the cockpit with all the electronics, radar and sensors onboard. If bluetooth is on and/or wifi the readings will be at hazardous or unhealthy levels. I'd keep those off. A healthy reading is under .05 v/m with the accusticom and about 5 miligauss. Do this test if you have any of this handheld test equipment with the cellphone off or in airplane mode. EMF has been classified as a class 2 carcinogen. Overexposure can cause all kinds of health issues. Other newer cars have levels in the 100+ miligauss range and people are complaining of headaches, lightheadedness, illness and other things.
