Hey Geebz, another great analysis from you. Puscifer have no bad tracks, brilliant band in the studio & live shows. MJK is complimented perfectly by the beautiful Carina Round.. Check out all their albums, the latest album is brilliant!! Cheers from Down Under 🇦🇺👍
If you read his biography Maynard has always used Puscifer as his own personal music creation tool. And has the most control over it than any of the other bands.
This is surely a repeat of prior comments but Puscifer's probably got the deepest library of all of MJK's acts. Dig deep and often with this one! Also, have you considered setting up an online shop? You could totally monetize and brand from your channel's content with some of your fun mannerisms. Say it with me now...Alright!!! ;)
You ain't kidding. I fell in love with Maynard's voice the first time I heard it and it has now been a 30-year love affair. The song Potions is so intensely beautiful it drew my husband from the depths of the house to the living room, demanding to know what song I was playing (he's also an MJK fan) because it was so incredibly beautiful. He made me play it three more times before he left and went back to what he was doing LOL!
this album is one of my favourite ever, it is puscifer rebranded tho, id love to hear what you make of some of their older albums, they have a completely different sound and energy!
I don't mind getting 3 hour video breakdowns of both Mer De Noms and Thirteenth Step... same goes for Tool's 10k days. Also personally Puscifer's Conditions of my Parole is their best album, and the "What is" live show is incredible. Having said that, thank you for all the quality content you make and I love your breakdowns :) cheers from Israel
Eventually check out Potions, Lighten Up Francis, Rev. 22:20, Undertaker, Man Overboard. (Even if just off camera) They are on the darker side. Annnddd then the new ones like Fake Affront and Grey Area are super interesting and honest with the times.
I absolutely love what you do with breaking down these songs. I've listened to some of these songs countless times but I really appreciate this deeper discovery you've enabled. Thank you from a 51yr old Tool, APC, Puscifer, Chevelle, Floyd, raised on 80's hair band guy.
I love the way you break down music. You help me hear things that I missed in 20 listens of the song, and help me understand why I like certain parts of the song more than the rest. You are helping me to train my ear and be more creative in my own music-making. I sincerely appreciate you. Thank you.
Carina Round is the female vocals and full-time band member. She is wonderful. I'd love to see a react to one of her self-titled solo works. The song, "For Everything A Reason" which was a song that helped get her some notice and was aired on an episode of American Horror Story. Keep up the awesome work. Love this channel.
One of the best Puscifer tunes. Thanks sooo much for reacting to/analyzing it. Wonderful analysis as well. Even though I'm a HUGE music lover, and simply listen to the vocal as another musical element of the song... you helped me get an even deeper appreciation for this song. THANKS!
Love me some Puscifer, make sure to sample Horizons, Monsoons, Autumn, Dear Brother, Polar Bear, and so many others. Tons of great music here, enjoy your journey!
Really enjoying your reactions and breakdowns, especially the Tool stuff. Very cool that you're delving into A Perfect Circle and Puscifer as well! The guitar player, Mat Mitchell, is also the main song writer/producer/engineer/does-about-everything-but-sing-guy, along with Maynard and Carina, he makes up the core of the band. This is Maynard's project though, I believe he brings most of the ideas to Mat and Mat turns the ideas into tracks that Maynard then writes lyrics/melodies for, Carina then comes in with her vocals and stuff to add another layer. Their style/genre/whatever varies a lot from song to song and they play around with many different expressions. Looking forward to hearing you react to some more of their stuff - there's a lot to explore! A few suggestions would be "Horizons", "Polar Bear", "Bullet Train to Iowa" and "Bread and Circus." Thank you so much for your videos, I feel like I learn something with every single one :)
Glad you're reviewing a Puscifer song., albeit one of their more "commercial" offerings. The lyrics are pretty funny though. I still think Galileo is more in your wheelhouse.
To be honest, this whole album. Puscifer seem to always have a couple of radio tracks, and then the rest of the album grows on you with each listen. They have such a great body of work, and such a variety of styles. I love the synth work on the new album, and they're incredible live.

If you get a chance, check out ‘Grand Canyon’ by Puscifer, it’s mind blowing. Thanks so much for putting a smile on my face today.
Love that you are reacting to this track, its probably one of my favorites by them. Something (kinda) hidden that I noticed on my 15th time listening to the song, during the chorus you can hear a ring bell which fits with the lucha theme of the album. Just something I hear now constantly when I listen to the song.
I think people asking about your headphones are thinking you're hearing what you're hearing because of the headphones. If those people are not musicians or trained to be sound engineers they just won't hear it like you do. I know when I listened to music as a kid before I learned guitar, drums, bass, recording. I loved it but I didn't hear it like I did after becoming a musician. I became an addict even more so then. My take is if you really want to enjoy music for more than just a huge sound and hear the collaboration of art that music is learn a melodic and percussive instrument or learn musical composition through education. Guaranteed that you will see the color of music not as purple but as the blue and red that is the components of the purple.
You do a great job at these videos. Dont worry too much about the toxic fans. Maynard has made it very clear over the years that he hates his fans because they are so toxic. It is unfortunate, but any community, once it becomes big enough, is going to have that toxicity. My advice would be to just keep being you and doing what you are doing. Thanks.

Hey Geebz, another great analysis from you. Puscifer have no bad tracks, brilliant band in the studio & live shows. MJK is complimented perfectly by the beautiful Carina Round.. Check out all their albums, the latest album is brilliant!! Cheers from Down Under 🇦🇺👍
Early Puscifer is sort of Maynard having fun with friends. Now days there's a set band, still fun though. Enjoy your journey.
And Puscifer is now Maynard's main project.
Say it with me now...Alright!!! ;)
Maynard has the voice of an angle, period.
Thank you.
How about listening to the song “horizons” as it shows Maynards voice.
Set Fire and The Last Time are great songs by her.
Carina is a badass
Carina Round is a treasure.
My favorite song from A Perfect Circle is Disillusioned. It's such an amazing sound and would love to hear your thoughts on it.
carina round is a full time band member, she also plays banjo in a lot of puscifers songs!
Yea Puscifer, Geebz if you want a thorough belly laugh, i suggest you watch the directors cut of "conditions of my parole" -Puscifer
Love hearing you decompose these songs. I learn something new from my favorite songs each time. Keep doing it mate 👍👍
One of the best Puscifer tunes. Thanks sooo much for reacting to/analyzing it. Wonderful analysis as well. Even though I'm a HUGE music lover, and simply listen to the vocal as another musical element of the song... you helped me get an even deeper appreciation for this song. THANKS!
Man, I love love love your channel. As a song writer, your breakdowns give me ideas often. I appreciate you brother! Much love from South Dakota!
Congrats on your channel blowing up! Well deserved!
Pucifer - bullet train to Iowa
- bread and circus
A few suggestions would be "Horizons", "Polar Bear", "Bullet Train to Iowa" and "Bread and Circus."
Thank you so much for your videos, I feel like I learn something with every single one :)
De-Composer APC's cover of Zepp's WHEN THE LEVEE BREAKS live from Red Rocks or TOOL's cover of Zepp's NO QUARTER from the Salival LP. ✌🤙
No quarter. Amazing cover.
Glad you're reviewing a Puscifer song., albeit one of their more "commercial" offerings. The lyrics are pretty funny though. I still think Galileo is more in your wheelhouse.
Grand canyon and the arsonist are bangers too
It changes almost daily, but many days, I will say that "Galileo" might be my favorite tune of theirs. Second the recommendation.
To be honest, this whole album. Puscifer seem to always have a couple of radio tracks, and then the rest of the album grows on you with each listen. They have such a great body of work, and such a variety of styles. I love the synth work on the new album, and they're incredible live.
Galileo is awesome!
You have to hear “Weak and Powerless” from APS
oh he'd love that one
Nice vid man! I saw these guys live in Portland, Maine when this album came out (2015 or 2016, something like that). I feel like a lot of people don’t know about this band, and it makes me sad 😢
Geebz home......
Geebz rules.......
Respect them!!
Love ya dude 🤘🤙😃
nice!! can't go wrong on anything Maynard is involved in!!
Very true brother
Well... Children of the Anachronistic Dynasty is a little weird...
Idk, mustard + mayo just sounds wrong. ;)
Trifecta? Now you have to dig back and find some Green Jelly (Jello) which was also a MJK band.
@Shaun Fowler thanks. I think I was thinking if Carey. Good catch bro!
Sooooo happy you did this one! You, good sir, rocketh my socks.
Also if you haven’t, Carina Round (the lovely young lady singing) is a force in herself. Amazing live performances in her solo stuff.
Haunting nuances in many Puscifer (PussyFur) as my 60 year old father discovered lol we had a great laugh. Some standouts others have not mentioned "Bullet Train To Iowa", "The Rapture", "Grey Area". Love the channel.
love your vids! puscifer is one of my favorite bands, itd be a joy to see you react to more of their songs
Nice, appreciate the rabbit holeness. We have been there.
I LOVE the tone and the relentlessness of the bass in this song - GORGEOUS!
Seriously loving this series. Please don't stop.
god damn man you point out things I never noticed about these songs and it's like listening to it for the first time again
Awesome to see a Puscifer song. Altho i have to admit every time i get the notification from you i cross my fingers that it's Wings For Marie 1&2. Can't wait for your take on that one.
Dude it's so cool to see you review songs I suggest! So glad you enjoyed it man! Another great creation!
Hell Yeah!!!!!
Absolutely LOVE this song. It fits today more than ever.
You my man, are on a good road right now. I'm actually jealous that you have all this MJK music to discover - chicken skins for me now.
LOVE THE LYRICS.
Hi,
I’m loving your analysis and deep dive into all these tracks. The format and content is refreshingly honest and unique; please keep it going. Thank you.
Nice mate. Really love this song.
Its so refreshing to hear someone give reaction to the deeper levels of music and not just whats on the surface.
The drummer Jeff Friedl is an awesome drummer. I love how he doesnt always play something. he leaves space where most don't.
GEEBZY!!!🤘🤘🤘 Thanks so much man. I asked for Puscifer and you delivered. I had feeling you would dig it. Of Maynards 3 projects, I would say that Puscifer has the most musical diversity. Lots of interesting stuff to find. Check out "Conditions of my Parole "
Momma Sed next, from the first album
Hey man, excellent channel! Please keep exploring Puscifer! "Green Valley" "Humbling River" "Potions" and "The Mission (M is for Milla mix)" along with many more are just amazing man.
Anything from Live@ Arcosanti will give you a lot more Carina, she's evenly matched with Maynard for volume. Specifically A Singularity or Bedlamite, she'll break your heart.
I really like your reviews of Tool, Puscifer and A perfect circle. I grew up on Tool and have got to be there when all the new bands came out. So its interesting seeing a new take on it.
Geebz, love the videos sir. I think you should check out the combined Tool - Disposition/Reflection/Triad (note, very long) for some more compositionally complicated stuff. Bought you a coffee, aurite!
This is an amazing song, the ebb and flow and complexity of the cadence, coupled with syncopation, yet it all flows sublime.
I'd love you to do personal Prometheus off their new album. Theres a great quality live recording as well.
Or orestes by a perfect circle live is outstanding.
Just wanted to say a massive aloha and share my appreciation for all of your content. By far the best react videos I’ve seen and you’re covering all of my favourite bands. I’m learning a lot from your break downs of the tracks and it’s great to listen to someone with so much knowledge and experience. If you get a chance, check out ‘Grand Canyon’ by Puscifer, it’s mind blowing. Thanks so much for putting a smile on my face today.
Yes, you were right about there being a female singer in Puscifer. Her name is Carina Round. Her live presence is speechless in their performances!
Thanks.
Geebz, been digging the channel. Learning a lot. Thanks for what you’re doing!
Awesome, thank you!
Love these vids. Keep them coming. I wonder if you could add your insight to some primes tunes.
Primus? I agree.
Their song Conditions of my Parole is a super fun song and music video
My favorite Puscifer song is The Humbling River. The lyrics are some of the best ever written, in my opinion. There's not a lot going on musically on the track, but it's still worth a listen, and I'd love to watch your reaction to it if you ever get around to it. Your reaction videos are a lot of fun to watch. Love your personality and insights.
I've always thought of Puscifer songs as a perverse journey.
Ha, a per-verse journey.
Tool = Penis,
A Perfect Circle = Anus,
Puscifer = Pussy.
14:35 Yes exactly!! Thats a killer part!!!! 😜
Bedlamite, Bullet train to iowa, Agostina, the arsonist, Toma, conditions of my parole...songs u wanna check out !
I just recommend this on your judith reaction! So glad you have already done so!!
Great analysis Geebz.
BTW the lady singer in Puscifer is Carina Round, she is beautiful and creative, and a scary-good singer.
Great reaction, Geebz! Glad to see you continue your MJK journey. Puscifer is an eclectic band for sure. You'll get different vibes depending on which album of theirs you do. I recommend Momma Sed or Sour Grapes off their first album, V is for vagina, to get a feel for early Puscifer. Love your channel! Aloha 🤙
Breathe is a great early song too.
She is most certainly a member of the band. Maynard struck gold when he found her you need to check out her solo stuff. Slow motion Addict that whole album is one that i would suggest. And also check out her video Pick Up The Phone. And check out her video Last Time. She is unbelievable. I love her!
Puscifer is a really dynamic band. This song is very different from some of their other stuff. I'd really recommend "momma sed" "the humbling river" and "conditions of my parole."
P.S. more videos. I look forward to your reactions.
