Your channel feels like meeting an old friend again and finally having a profound conversation about life instead of ubiquitous superficial small talk (or flexing about career, family, relationships or vacations). Thank you.

Mate, to be honest it DID take me til my 40s to realise what you're talking about, but it wasn't too late. Heading into my 50s with a much fuller and more satisfying life than I could have ever have imagined....it's NEVER too late.

You raise some good points about being serious in life at times to achieve goals and to set up things for the future. I think added to what you discussed, people shouldn't forget in life the unexpected can and often does happen for most at some stage. This commonly can be illness and new health issues which develop and throw everything out completely, future plans and wealth built up will mean nothing in these times. I cared for (nursed) a number of very wealthy people in the past and they all told me the wealth and things they had meant nothing when faced with major health issues and sickness or when approaching death; some of these patients weren't old either. They all said their families that cared and their health was more important at a time of sickness than anything else they had ever achieved in their lives. Also I nursed many many people newly retired from work only 6 months to a year after finishing work facing terminal illness. This stuff is real and goes to show we all need to live each day and don't be deceived into thinking we have until a set age then we die then. Sometimes that doesn't happen - anything can happen at anytime, don't take life for granted - this is what i learnt in my nursing career.

I promise im saying this politely.
Respecfully, i disagree with you. As a nurse you have an exposed and concentrated view of people of dying. Of course there are going to be examples of people dying just after retireing but the vast majority of people dont. Its like a police officer believing that there is lots of crime when the majority of people have little exposure to crime.
The whole “live for today” will limit your options in the future. I spent many years studying for my job (huge sacrifice, very boring) but now life is a walk in the park.

On the other hand I know some people who did everything by the book since day1 and in their 30's started feeling like they've missed out on everything that life is truly about. They started wishing they had made more mistakes and experienced rowdy things outside the safer side of life. And I can understand that. Youth is the time to take those risks.
I agree that you should try to put yourself in a position where your back is covered but I also think that the most important thing is to consider what you truly value in life and to make sure that you never neglect that no matter what.

Your story sounds quite similar to mine, though at school I kept banging the drums with grade hunting to please others. I think there is a very fine line between taking life seriously enough to live better, and taking it too seriously to enjoy the moment. I think the key here is to start taking YOURSELF more seriously, in the hope that you can build yourself into your best form. You and a few others have inspired me to get myself up onto TH-cam and to start taking my own wants and needs into better consideration in life. Thank you for the value you provide 🙌🏻

Yeah I would certainly say it's better to get the grades and have options than mess around and have fewer like I did.
Great to hear you're getting on the platform, we can all benefit from hearing about other peoples experiences. Good luck

Life is all about balance, whether it’s health, relationships or career goal aspirations. Just live in the present, but remember to have your screwed on. Take risks, invest in yourself, and don’t sweat the small stuff. There is a lot out of your control, so control what is within your grasp, how you react and think. I’m in my 40s and made serious changes in my early 30s and glad I did. We are the consequence of our choices so choose wisely.

I started to wake up in my 40's. It was like being a teenager trying to navigate an adult world. By 50, I thought I was finally an adult (nope). It took one more childish reaction to stress for me to really understand. I literally said "I'm too old for this shit" out loud to muyself. From there I steadied, did really well in my job, relationships, and found out what feeling competant, calm and quiet felt like. I grew up in chaos and silliness. I thought that was normal-so not! As for the lost years. Well, they weren't all bad, or all silly. Some good things happened too.

Life is just so freaking complicated it's hard to believe you can win this thing called life. When taking advice, consider who's giving you the advice. Do they have an agenda or not ? Isn't it a scammer ? Learn to take life seriously, but not too seriously because women will start telling you "You're too serious, you're no fun", get confident but not too cocky because you will be viewed as arrogant. Then people ask you to get more confident because you need to be confident to get a job, to pursue people when speaking on a stage or to get a girlfriend. How you supposed to be confident if you've been going from hardship to hardship for the last x years ? Then your woman wants you to last long in bed but you disappoint her because you're stressed out from work and worried about the future. Then you learn that a man needs other men in his circle. Which means you need to make time for it. You lose your job because of something outside of your control, then you're expected to pay bills you can no longer pay.
I feel like the expectations on men are so freaking high that only maybe superman can meet. Expectations from employers, women, family.
I don't mean to be negative but ...
... can a man actually win in life ?

I wouldn't say I was a religious person but I do believe in more than science can prove (at the moment). I hate to use the term "spiritual" but it best describes me I think
