Thank you for watching everyone! I’ve noticed a few people asking about the soundtrack - it’s actually composed by my brother! You can find his music under the name Godspel.
I think I just realised why I should get into my hobby even tho people think it's lame, nerdy and a waste of time. Because my happines doing it might affect others in a positive way.
I’m 6 ft 2 ex fighter, doorman of ten years. And I’m sat here with watery eyes. This video is an enigma. A rare diamond in a sea of narcissistic fake content. Pure joy, pure love. And the collaboration of the decade
Tears. Not the car. Not the train. This real interaction and joy of 2 humans in a digital age is just priceless. Chris realising the purity of Francis’s emotions. This one hit the spot. 👏👏👏
Chris is off doing side missions these days and I'm all for it. Never thought I'd see this collaboration but I think I speak for everyone when I say we are all for it
Don't mind me, just a 33 year old man fulling crying at this and couldn't tell you why. No interest in trains but Francis, you are what the world needs more of man. Spread some joy.
Next video should be Chris brining Francis along to proper track day, to show and tell about cars and racing. i'm sure Francis would be equally excited of that.
I am no train lover but I swear the anticipation I felt in my stomach as the train emerged from behind the grassy bank and the euphoria felt by Chris and Francis as it came into full view was palpable and I had tears in my eyes.. WTF.... there aren't many feelings that grab you like that... amazing.. whatever this lad has... everyone should have some of it
I’m more used to watching your content Joe and Chris’s……. I’m not even into trains! Hit me like a steam train that! Tears of joy I couldn’t agree more! Something rare in 2024.
Happens to me every time I watch one of his videos. Seeing someone having the time of their life over something so simple as a train... I hope everyone finds the same happiness.
Legitimately one of the best videos I’ve watched in a while. I can’t quite put my finger on what it is, but it feels so pure in its aimlessness. no existential plot or unnecessary talking, just capturing a pure moment in the lives of a few humans
It’s very very hard to make me emotional as a 32year old man, but the sheer amount of happiness in that video got me real good. Awesome Collaboration with the monkey man
I was wondering why my cheeks hurt by the end of this video and then realised I’d spend 20 minutes smiling all the way through! Infectious joy and happiness!
Back in the 90’s my father used to take my brother and I from Oxford to Swindon to swim at the now closed Oasis Leisure Centre. We’d often stop at Didcot Railway Station on the way back to have a hot chocolate and KitKat on the platform on the way back as Didcot was one of the stations where an intercity 125 would go through without slowing down. Having one of those thunder past as we all stood in awe was breathtaking, to then see a steam engine go through was truly a magic experience. Seeing the reaction from Francis as the train tore past and his infectious joy take Chris by surprise was a welcome relief from the distractions of today. Dad had a stroke about 2 months ago and is recovering well, but Chris repeating ‘I rather enjoyed that’ and your smile Francis instantly took me back 25 years to when life was significantly less complicated. Absolute love.
Chris Harris fan for MANY years now. But this is MEGA!! Am I the only one tearing up seeing Francis so overjoyed and Chris just joining in on the experience? And with the music??? Wow. Thanks for a bright spot on a dreary Monday
Someone did a great job finding the audio too. This band has so few listens but it's perfect. music.th-cam.com/video/ZOu6mmX-i9Y/w-d-xo.html&si=Qz967CjmEdBW8e-e
I like to fall asleep quite often listening to Chris' podcast. There's no better way to wake up on a Saturday morning than to see everyone commenting on the suggestion to watch the video of you two together. I've been a fan of Chris since the start even being from The States. I'm a car, motorsports, nut. Crazy about cars. I know everyone mentions it a lot now, but I'm 44, and I have gone through deep bouts of depression, existential angst, and anxiety all of my life. I recognize it has affected me deeply, especially with enjoying life as much as I should. It robs me of joy. Not that I'm not passionate about cars and all that is involved with them, great food, trains, airplanes, technology, architecture, on and on. Your passion resonated within me. Your happiness chasing that marvel of engineering made me cry the whole time. Seeing you two chasing it was a thing of beauty. Genuinely so. It's nothing to scoff at. It's genuinely inspiring to always seek what I am passionate about and to fight off what I battle every day. Can't thank you enough for sharing your passion and joy, I'm sure it helps everyone more than you'll ever truly know. Godspeed brother.
@@focussport Thank you my brother, genuinely, for taking the time to comment. I wish you the best in your journey in life, I really do. I just came back to watch it again, it's truly therapeutic, inspiring. Godspeed.
This video needs to be spread far and wide! To see the the joy on Francis' face, and the joy on Chris' face seeing the joy on Francis', absolute magic. Two men making the world a bit more happy. Thankyou
Probably the single most wholesome video I've seen in years on here. Pure joy on Francis face and Chris just thriving in making someone that happy. Perfect.
I'm currently recovering from an extremely difficult period in my life and every time I watch Francis I get a little piece of what is special about people and life back 🥰✌️🍻
Not gonna lie, i had a couple of tears of joy when i saw Francis so happy he caught up with the loco. You could actually see Chris holding it back too. Awesome video
My old man was a railways driver of 38 years in Western Australia. He started on those in the 60s and worked his way up. He passed on during covid, and its safe to say everybody who REALLY enjoys steam trains, cars and planes probably has some of those special characteristics that not that long ago, got you locked up in a mental facility. Now we embrace these people, who continue to push technology and our society to new levels of comfort and ability to create. That ability to hyperfocus on an object, understand the energy it creates and share it with the world is just delightful. I shed a tear for my fathers passing, for the passion of all things machines and thank you for sharing that moment with the world.
Chris, you have made more than one man happy. Must be the greatest YT video of 2024. Chris is now a train fan and Francis slipped in a Head and Shoulder comment
What a film. Takes me back to one of the most memorable scenes in a criminally unseen film - The Station Agent. Francis - you're an inspiration and a lesson in why being true to yourself and your interests is the first step to finding true happiness.
'Dropped by a steam engine' - and the train didnt even know it was in a race. Really enjoyable video Francis. Reckon you may have converted Chris to the joy of train spotting. Top job.
This brought a tear to my eye, purely for the fact of it being raw emotion that was felt fulfilling something so special. How can someone be so thoughtful as to give the train drivers scones at the end, humanity at its finest.
The standard of production on this is brilliant. The sound work is excellent, when you first see the train come side on with the AMG, made me feel like a kid watching top gear again. Nice one guys.
"Okay, an Irishman here. I don’t know why I had to state that, but anyway, I’m a 40-year-old father of three beautiful girls, and this video marks the fifth time I remember crying as an adult. It's a stunning video-a truly British video in every sense. What a great soundtrack your brother has created! I also love everything Chris Harris is doing."
Totally amazing television (from a 53 year old). Perfect blend of top gear and Francis. So good to get the shots, things that would not have been possible when the train was running daily.... Amazing. And the happiness and satisfaction is the most contagious thing ever, don't stop
That was one of the most wholesome things on TH-cam. Seeing Chris getting so much pleasure was intoxicating and brilliant to see. A small tear may have welled in my eye. Bravo gents.
Most wholesome video I've seen in a long time, and a much needed reminder to never be afraid to be passionate about something, about anything. Sometimes you get lucky enough to introduce that passion to someone else, and share enthusiasm in that collective experience.
Hopefully will be at east Lancashire railway if not on railtour duty. It’s a much sought after locomotive…. It’s only one of a small pool that can haul west coasts mk2 carriages. It also is used on the fort William line in the summer on scotrail passenger service. Owned by the great Ian Riley (should be Sir by now).
Love Chris and Francis’s content but this collaboration is so so good, the joy and happiness from racing trains in a car is something that everyone should do. Infectious laughter, cool cars and steam trains - absolutely brilliant
This video is a masterpiece. His passion is so inspiring. I love how in the final departure he just takes it all in, no phone no nothing just observing and appreciating. Chills
Somehow this was the most beautiful video of this year, the passion, the engery, the emotion! Can't be beat! Oh and that DTM AMG! GAD DAYMN. And the Black 5! Again, the POWER!!
Mate this is by far the best video! Within a short time you brought so many emotions back to your viewers that only your heart can make your soul feel. Thank you all! I realized that making others smile and being able to see that happen is what I and so many others enjoy in life. This short film truly exemplifies what we all feel that words cannot explain. Cheers and one day I hope I can make as many people in this world smile like you all did in this film. THANK YOU❤
As a young lad who grew up loving steam engines and now a grown man loving cars this has warmed my heart on an otherwise difficult day. Hope this isn't the last time you two collab!
Francis I've never watched any of your videos, I always watch your tiktoks but I saw Chris Harris and my word seeing the joy that brought you honestly made my day. Francis, genuinely thank you that was amazing to watch and never been a train guy but what a feat of engineering.
You’re made a 30 year old man shed a tear. What a wonderful video. You’ve definitely converted Chris, he gets it, and you can tell he grew to appreciate your passion towards the end of the video. How great
The emotions here are truly magnificent. You’ve made me so happy to see your joy in the machine. And what a car to take you there and with the very best car guy! Thank you both ❤
That was wonderful!!! I cried, the unbridled joy, that moment, like all of us watching was right there! Amazing , more from you two please!! ❤❤ And to think if oil hadn't taken over, steam cars would have been everywhere.
Thank you for watching everyone! I’ve noticed a few people asking about the soundtrack - it’s actually composed by my brother! You can find his music under the name Godspel.
What a talented bunch you are! Fantastic video and music
Aphex Twin influence for sure!
Will you collab with LaZeR JET?
What is the first track called at the intro?
Your brother is a real talent!
Watching Chris realise how happy you were seeing the train, which then in turn made him happy is brilliant.
The joy is infectious.
😍
exactly what i was thinking, you can see Chris warming to him as his passion shows more and more. its actually kind of sweet.
100% this
I think I just realised why I should get into my hobby even tho people think it's lame, nerdy and a waste of time.
Because my happines doing it might affect others in a positive way.
@drsavage5597 Yes 100% doesn't matter what other people think. We're all gonna be dead soon
Absolutely needs to be a TV/youtube series.
Different cars that Chris loves, Chasing trains that Francis wants to see.
Yess!
Around the world also please.
I’m 6 ft 2 ex fighter, doorman of ten years. And I’m sat here with watery eyes.

Pure joy, pure love. And the collaboration of the decade
Couldn’t agree more. Wouldn’t mind a ride in that beautiful Merc, either hehe ❤🎉😂
💯
Ooooooo you're hard.
Just a shame Francis isn't his real name then, eh?
Brilliantly said. Once to save for a dark day, I am sure can lift you out of anything.
The collab we didn’t know we needed!
Agreed

When the music changes and it comes alongside. That's literally TH-cam gold. What terrific cinematography. Class
Pretty sure a clk dtm convertible has never been used for train spotting. One of the best videos on TH-cam.
I thought it was a black series, thanks for correcting me.
Back back when Mercedes made desirable cars, beautiful car, train and scenery
@@nstarmore The DTM is even more extreme, than the Black Series.
Couldn’t agree more. Fabulous.
+1 for agreeing! Absolute brilliance

16:30 I love how after the train split ways with the road Chris gave the full 8 cylinder salute. Marvellous film. I needed this today, thank you.
The best of top gear with all the charm of homemade TH-cam content. Absolutely class.
Chris was on youtube in the early days! :)
This is definitely not home made. The production value on this is huge!
@ I know, I know they have a full rig on a car :) It’s more it just has that genuine, authentic feel.
Chris harris does not represent topgear
Legitimately one of the best videos I’ve watched in a while. I can’t quite put my finger on what it is, but it feels so pure in its aimlessness. no existential plot or unnecessary talking, just capturing a pure moment in the lives of a few humans
In a world that's gone to shit - the antidote. Thank you both

You can’t beat steam to lift your spirts 😅
So true
If everyone just had 10% of the happiness in this video then the world would be a brighter place……absolutely loved this

It’s very very hard to make me emotional as a 32year old man, but the sheer amount of happiness in that video got me real good. Awesome Collaboration with the monkey man
